OP2: NTA. Your wife isn't missing her event and she's unreasonable for demanding you do so.
Man, the narrator has come out in multiple different videos saying ultimatums are wrong. Why, in the last story, is he suddenly like "yeah i get it"? No, saying marry me or we're done is wrong. It doesn't matter how old they are.
i feel bad for op, her husband and sister's husband as well, her brother in law deserves better as well as the parents, they also deserve better.

Last story: Ultimatums never work out and OP being anxious is an indicator that he isn't ready for marriage and parenthood. He should breakup with his GF now so she can move on to someone who is actually ready to settle down and start a family.

Anyway, usual bias aside. They have been together for 1 year. One year is not enough time to truly know a person. Furthermore, she is putting an ultimatum on OP to get married or to break up and while I actually dont disagree with that, from how OP describes it, she is not exactly being understanding to his side. As such, to me, this means she is solely focused on her needs right now. Which is a red flag in this situation. So yeah, id just let the relationship fall through and get ready to go back into the dating market because there is no benefit for OP in rushing into marriage.

I’m glad someone else noticed his bias, it was really just annoying me. I know some men who will take a whole decade before they even propose and their girlfriends stay with them throughout the whole process, my dad is currently dating this woman and after a year she wanted to get married. He put his foot down and said that he wasn’t going to marry her until he was sure. His marriage with my mom failed horribly and the divorce process was dragged out. Dude suffered a lot and he wants time to think and evaluate their relationship, they’ve been together for almost four years and still not married. You truly love someone you won’t force them to do anything

Story 2: OP isn’t the jerk but the wife is bitter. It sucks that she’s an introvert and doesn’t go out that much but that’s on her. The only person that can change that is her and she doesn’t seem to want to do that.
Getting married within a year is too soon no matter how old you are. You need at least five years minimum of knowing a person which consists of two and a half years of dating before moving in and then another two and a half years of living with each other to understand each other's living habits in a total of 5 years to somewhat understand a person at least 5 years if she's out here rushing it it's a red flag. Dump her.
She's a narcissistic, controlling gold digger and will bleed her husband dry before going after the next rich guy. And her need to drag others into financial ruin just to placate her delusions is unsettling.

It depends on if your values are aligned, your culture (some cultures don't do move in before marriage), religions (some religions are still strict about no sex before marriage), financial stability etc...
That is why I said it depends on a couple. Only you guys knows the inner working of your relationship and I believe only you guys can truly know if you are ready to get married or not.

Last story. Her mom being there at a certain time is not a valid reason to push for a wedding. And who says they have to be married for her to have a kid? If he doesn't want to, there are other fish in the sea as well as alternative methods to conceive.

As soon as an ultimatum comes out the best decision is to run for the hills. A person who announces an ultimatum like that has already analyzed what they’re willing to give up to get their way and has determined that the relationship is less valuable compared to their want. That’s not the sort of person I want to be in a long term commitment with.
As I always like to say whenever the OP says I seriously don't know what to do, "Tell them to piss off, it'll only be harder if you make it harder"

Last story - you've been dating for a year that's not nearly long enough to be worrying about marriage. And since she's being so pushy and giving you an ultimatum like that, send her packing.
For Story 1: My Brother and I live a house which we pay rent to our mom and aunt. We pay less than a regular apartment rent and my dad pays my bills because I apparently can’t be trusted with money (due to the fact I have a problem with handling money myself.) However my dad does give me an allowance of around $100 give or take depending on the time of the year like if Christmas is coming up.

Story 3 - there is a lot of information missing in this story. Aaron has been freeloading on gf for 7 years, but also lived with OP and husband for a year during that time? He has a lot of debt is an incredibly vague statement. And oh no he criticizes her parenting? Maybe she's a bad parent? Story 1: I feel bad for the guy that married that dumb sister. She clearly only sees him for his chequebook and nothing else. Story 2: Yeah im gonna say not the jerk here too. I dont get why this is an issue here. I understand that its best for one of the parents to stay home with the daughter rather then family or a sitter, but the family member is more then happy to stay with the daughter and things all seem to be in apple pie order.... so the wife really does seem like she's punishing the OP and in a rather stupid way too. Story 4: Something tells me that the gf's mother is the reason behind this.... probably pressuring her to get married and have kids and very soon. Thats how i see this. Both parties should want to get married because they love each other, not because of the "biological clock" or any other reason. Get engaged and married when you are comfortable and happy, not because of some ultimatum.
I feel like the "Maybe 1% mad at you" because he'd just taken the vitamin gummies was more of a joke than anything, and even if it wasn't entirely a joke that anger will probably pass quickly enough, like the memory of his indigestion. My guess is that the husband realizes the OP really wasn't at fault, and whatever anger he has is more rightfully directed at Aaron for his actions, and not the OP for being the messenger.
so me and my partner are getting married in december. all of my family know and were invited however me and my family live in the UK and im getting married in the US, they all couldve saved money for flights and come and i know this because of the amount everyone has been on holiday this year that wasnt planned or booked until a month or 2 prior to them going. we told everyone in feburary. anyway that aside they didnt wanna come because flights are expensive and they dont care, which ok cool thats their choice. my parents cant fly so i am video calling my mum so that she and my dad can watch the wedding even if they cant attend. am i disowning my brothers n sister? no, i dont care that its going to be all his family there and none mine. when i get back to the UK im having a second wedding reception for all of my family.

2) Narrator is so wrong. Husband deliberately made plans when he knew his wife was going out for the first time in a while. You see your friends every week, you can skip one party.
3) It was not the wife’s place to tell anybody about anything. Wife should have kept her mouth shut when it was not her or her husbands business.
4) 🚩🚩🚩🚩. RUN. Just over 1 year is not enough time to get to know if you want to marry somebody or not and the girlfriend is being super controlling.
For the story about the husband being mad at the friend. The only thing OP did wrong was tell the husband without getting the GFs ok. That was told in confidence so she shouldn't have automatically told her husband without the GF knowing.
For the last story, shit or get off the pot. If you're not ready to get married at 43 after a year if dating, then you don't want to get married. She's probably thing about kids too. You are both old enough to know your younger years are behind you and you need to stop wasting both of your time. I don't like ultimatums, but this is her last ditch effort. She's done waiting. Either commit or let her go.
Last ditch?? This is her first.. She literally never brought it up until all of the sudden, and now she is forcing him into making a choice, which is very controlling and manipulative behaviour.. If one year is enough to decide, well guess what? She should know by now not to spring this up on him, or at least be considerate of his feelings.. Relationships are a two-way street.. he is trying to accomodate, and some people need fing time. If she wants to break up, that's fine. But. Forcing someone to make a choice, she was threathning him to leave if he didn't comply to her demands. Second friend group that you haven't seen in a month? Is this a joke? Dude, you have a kid now. You can continue juggling these balls and covering your bases, but don't complain later when your kid just sees you as an ATM. The kid may be asleep by 7:30pm, but she goes to sleep knowing who is there if she's gets sick, or wakes up with a nightmare, and it's not you, her DAD. The 5% of the time she does wake up, who is there for her, Daddy, Mommy, this other family member? You reap what you sow.
Story 2 - if you are not willing to sacrifice for your child, why do you even have the child ? You are the biggest immature outgrown jerk not to prioritize your child first even if your wife has the time to look after your child, still prioritizing your games and giving excuses about your relative wanting to have your child for a sleepover.
