You can also paid independent phone repair store to fix it
Tips would be great about what to watch for. Like the tiny magnets around the mag charge. I discovered several stuck to the back of the glass removed. Also take care of the copper wire that surrounds it, easy to snag and cut.
You should take the screen glue back so that when you peel off the glass, it prevents scratches on the screen
Why do you always set videos to Premiere? CZcams needs to remove that feature, it's so annoying.

Does it stay water resistance?
Nope, even if you did housing replacement it won’t be water resistant. Once you open any phone for repair, the water resistance is usually gone.

Big mistake doing that without pulling everything out of the case, the heat can damage the logic board battery and many more
Sure but only if you have direct heat for long periods of time. With how quick he was moving the heat gun there shouldn't be any damage to the device. And removing every component would just be more difficult seeing as you'd have to use heat either way to get the front glass off. More work for a tiny issue that wouldn't happen if you're careful.

Apple charges $455 because they replace the whole device. They can't just replace the rear glass since the device has water resistant properties and the glue placement is very complicated so they don't trust human repairs for this. It's also very time consuming. Even their screen replacements come with all the extra parts on like the front camera, face Id etc so everything is placed on the right spot and eliminate the chances for any human error.
Aside from water resistance, the rest is just Apple being assholes by pairing sensors with devices
