Kudos to your post. 1 example of the Deegans morality. There is a rule still on the books (that I thought was gone in the 70's), that allows a competition to take your bike with a forced payment. That is your private property that is not for sale. It is theft, even with a forced payment. If the transaction is not 100% voluntary, there is theft involved. Brin did not let that parasite steal his property with the theft of the claiming rule. People think if he had a cheater bike, that the penalty should be bike confiscation instead of disqualification from the race, but they are 2 separate issues. The Deegans may be the most moral people in the industry, and i am shocked at what a great family man Deegan has become, very pleased actually. His kids think for themselves, and they are moral. On top of that, when you see the kid of Brian Deegan has no tattoo's, it is a indicator that he is more serious about chasing RC's records than anybody else. Haiden is doing a great job using his own mind, and that is why he is a winner. jealous people---they can cheer for a loser all they want, if it makes them feel better. I cheer for greatness, because it makes us better ourselves, looking at the top for a role model.

Hymas was blessed by Weege and JS7 the entire race. Hymas hasn't been anywhere near the podium his entire career and has a career weekend on nearly his home track and the media is suckling on that teet like he's the 2nd coming. It's obvious Haiden knew where he was in points and standings and didn't need to push it and yet Hymas was vaulted to hero status because of his honda teammates and the underdog status that they so desired in deference to deegan.

The reason why it wasnt hypocritical, is because he was up front about a feeling he was having, and didnt say an opinion as if it were a black and white fact, and even asked why he may feel that way, so i think that although it could be confused as hypocritical i think his behavior was, in fact, NOT really the same.

They hate him because they can’t control him. The industry wants classy robots that they feed a script to all in the name of selling their BS product. That’s the problem with all sports, NFL, NBA, NASCAR, etc… all of those sports mentioned ruined themselves because they became boring. To a certain degree Supercross is boring. There’s no rivalry’s anymore, it’s the same old track and just line up and race and thank your sponsors and go home. Who the hell wants that? I’ve met Deegan multiple times at Loretta’s and that’s just who he is. They can hate him all they want but he’s not going anywhere for the next 10 years.
Deegan is physically stronger than almost everyone else. The list of riders that bumped him only to take themselves out is growing very quickly.

It's gotten to the point that watching these videos piss me off more than they're enjoyable to watch. Here's the engagement you need to sleep at night. Go get bugged by Chance being the most genuine rider in the pits when he's #2 on the team and worked his ass off to hug his parents after his first win.
Deegan if you remember was leading the first moto at highpoint last year and Hampshire got him at the end. Then Deegs fell in first part of the 2nd race and came from last or almost last and got 6th, for 2/6 for 2nd over all.
So hes pretty dam good at highpoint. I predict 1/1 as long as he starts top 8 or better each moto...
Deegans riding style is on the edge and so far he’s been able to manage it with any major tip overs. Let’s see if it translates into championships.

I really thought Hymas was going to be "one of those guys" that come out of the amateurs as the nest huge thing and they fizzle in the pros. Obviously injuries played a part but I think he probably believed his own hype and didn't train hard. It's known now that he got serious about training and that's what you are seeing, that was the problem, I think the same with D'francisco and a couple others. Exactly what I was thinking was Deegan was feeling this dude is going to fade and he never did. HUGE accomplishment and a new player, thank God. That said, the knee is going to be a problem. How it manifests itself, I don't know but it's a big problem. But, a gigantic ride for him! I loved it! His interviews don't bother me, he's just kind of milktoast... He's probably a Mormon, which doesn't matter but just a thought.
Hymas is a genuine kid, he's not die hard alpha like Deegan, that might be what buggs you man, but you underestimate Tom. Tom is world champ and he will win races, watch when they go east.

Part of me felt that Tom Vialle was way too nice to Deegan; if I was Vialle, I'd have just gone full on send on him, and if I went down, Deegan was going down, too.
The things Deegan does are extremely authentic, and this sport needs people like him in his interviews; Vialle's the same way.

They don't like that Deegan swears because its a family sport. You start turning parents away because of swearing on T.V. and that hurts the sport. I'm 100% okay with anything else Deegan says. I think it's great that he talks smack in the interview. It's sure a change of pace from most interviews.
I seriously doubt many parents turn away because Deegan says hell or damn a few times..kids today hear cursing from everywhere especially since most have phones

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more "fight" mentality/banter due to what Brian said in their GypsyTales podcast about taking a MMA/Boxing approach to hyping up the races. Deegan has more fans than any other rider out there. Guaranteed. He already had a fan base before entering professional moto. If you say somebody bugs you with their interviews, you need to express why, or don't bring it up until you can. Why is it that his interviews bug you. You can explain with reason rationally. Saying "I don't know", means---you don't know. And if you don't know, you should keep it until you do. We want to stay in reality here. "I don't know" has no place in it. Neither does the phrase, "I feel like" this is----what ever. They don't "Know" and assumptions will be made unfairly. My 2 bits. :) Doug in Michigan.
The byas towards haiden has been there, when hymas was up front they focused on him when haiden is upfront they focus on 4,5,6,7th when kitchen was upfront they focus on him. It's sad but hey the more he wins the more he gives the finger to the media, as far as captain baget goes you an tell he does not like haiden and haiden is living rent free in his head.

Interesting take about Hymas and Deegan. I actually find Deegan interviews hard to watch. Seems very uncomfortable, nervous and scripted. Listen to Brian in an interview about something like what Haiden needs to work on and then you listen to Haiden and he says the exact thing but in an awkward way. Then seems very uncomfortable when he tries to lay down smack talk, almost like he isn’t nearly as good at talking as he is, actually DOING. I actually think he’s a pretty good hearted kid, so perhaps he isn’t comfortable in the WWE role?

From a guy who is known for some shit takes, this is the shittiest. Deegan is cartoonish. His smack talk smacks of WWE. He does sound scripted. It's uncontroversial to claim that his Dad has and still guides him. No one in the media is afraid of him, as no rider is bigger than the sport. You constantly claim that controversy is good for the sport and that it needs characters like Deegan. Yet when anyone dares to criticize, or more correctly, describe Deegan accurately by his behavior, you can't post a video quick enough to cry about it.

Good! The kid seems awesome, and I was just curious if anyone else felt how I did. Obviously I am dead wrong about him!
Chance has the talent to run up front and compete for win every weekend, i hope he stays consistent because the battles will be fun to watch. As for his interviews i get what you are saying, it seems as though he is hold back trying to be " PC" or whatever.
But I love the way Deegan talks to the media, and i agree while he definitely plays into the character he's trying to build, its also really close to who he really is. What I have a problem with is when people just play the character they're "supposed to" play. Theres nothing wrong with the Ryan dungeys of the sport, but there's nothing wrong with the Haiden Deegans either, everyone should just be whomever they truly are and the media should embrace it all
Pretty good until the "paddle tire" argument. First, they are really called "scoop tires", as Paddles were banned by the AMA around 1974 after Weinert won a sand race SX with one.
Second, the knob size is limited by the FIM/AMA and the Dunlop MX14 scoop tire is at the high limit. It is a great tire for it's application, and I absolutely love it in Michigan trails. Best tire by far since my racing days in the 80's and 90's. If it is banned from AMA competition,--it will probably cease production instead of being a choice. Can we be free to race and ride what we want? If everybody can get it, it is not an advantage. Roosted too much? Pick a different line, so you can pass. Now if this idea takes off at all, I will have to buy 6 of them, my favorite tire, before they are discontinued, because somebody thought they were an unfair advantage, when they are just better. I wish we had that attitude for the 4 stroke that was forced on the industry by a dictatorship called the EPA, instead of what free enterprise does to make better products. That tire is awesome!!!! Please leave the free market progress alone, and lets get on the guys who tell us what to make and buy,---by using force on the industry. Mike Kiedrowski did not "despise his competition" as you say, but he did not take any crap on the track.
That description would better fit Damon Bradshaw, who has admitted many times that he had to hate somebody on the track to ride his best.
And that is when we saw Bradshaw's best, as we watched in awe. :)

That makes people sensitive cry, and hit the ban button in a gulag for eternity. :) But I also make very wise comments that we can learn from, because I am pretty much a historian of the sport,-and our freedoms. I'm loving moto, so glad Deegan's vids popped up on my CZcams a few years ago. It literally got me back into watching moto. Plus, I was done with mainstream sports. They are so rigged. Imo✌️

We forgot what a hard pack track is. They don't rut up. We would see a lot of Pro's dropping their bikes on a real "hard pack, tough off camber" that did not rut or berm up.
The only thing hard packed, are the faces of jumps. Eli did the entire series I believe 2 years ago, testing the Dunlop MX14 scoop tire, and won.
Would not do that at old Red Bud clay (unless mud), or the old Carlsbad tracks. I don't think these guys could beat the late 80's guys on real, blue groove, hard pack.
Remember when Deegan got roasted by a reporter for some great racing against his teammate Jordan Smith?
Deegan was brand new behind the media mic, and was nervous, so he did not know what to say to defend himself. But next time, don't be surprised, if that happens again, Deegan will say, "You don't tell me how to race my bike!", and exclude that reporter from further questions for a month, very publicly, would be helpful. :)
Deegan family in General has always been the rebellious anti hero types in their careers. I think Brian realized early he made more money being a villain. I don't know yet if Danger Boy Deegan wants to be a villain but the sport does need villains. It gets boring with the milk toast....thank the lord, recite every sponsor and say nothing dramatic. We have had a lot of that and it is fine I go to church sometimes but it is BOOOOOORING. A villain is always fun. Heck Bob Hannah was from what many say the nicest guy off the track but on the track he was fun to watch and he was a great GREAT Villain, literally was the original beast mode dude was no mercy on the track. So if Hayden D chooses that path then it will be very fun to watch. The reason media is afraid of him is he does not NEED them to sell products. His you tube alone probably makes more than most merch in mx I would think.

Compared to what Motocross was back in the mid to late 90's, Deegan is a Boy Scout...
He races hard, but fair, and he still maintains some semblance of comradery with his opponents. Levi Kitchen was the first person he told about the "Helicopter" bar swap at Hangtown after the moto... and they had a laugh!

I called that already. Deegan doesn't need their money, or to do their shows. His video gets far more views than theirs, he sells more merch than they do, he wins and says what he wants too, he doesn't need to fit their mold. They probably have to beg him to do their shows, or have the AMA threaten him with a fine, hahaha.
There are more than enough other riders willing to do the media podcasts and shows, I have not missed Deegan not doing much media. Could care less. He wouldn't be a good interview anyways.
