- 🥹 At 71 years old, Claudio Rainieri returned to where it all started and accomplished something special. 30 years ago Claudio Rainieri became the manager of Cagliari and brought them from the 3rd division of Italian soccer / football to the Series A. Now this past weekend he accomplished it again, bringing them back up to the Series A from Serie B. A truly special moment in his legendary soccer career.

He is a legend in England, everybody was hoping Leicester would win the league because of this guy, can’t help route for him 👏👏
They didn’t really win because of Raineri
@@mofstar8683 thats like saying city didnt win ucl cause kf pep
@@mofstar8683 of course they did, what kind of stupid statement is that?
Route? U mean root ofc
Route-(ru-out)
Quick side note: at the end of the match he told the Cagliari fans not to insult the Bari fans, since , as he states during the post match interview, “they were a great rival and they deserve respect “
respect
🐐
What a legend
Absolute class act, much respect to Mr. Ranieri
He is a fucking legend
Absolute legendary manager right here!
He's a very likeable character
What a legend! Also, big shoutout to Peche for also including the smaller clubs accomplishments in his videos! So many channels only go over the big clubs, but Peche consistently doesnt forget to put smaller clubs in the spotlight. Let's go lad!
Cagliari small? We've won more Serie A then Arsenal has won Champions Leagues
@@scribble__Cagliari have one league title and Arsenal have 13, Cagliari are significantly smaller
@@scribble__ not hard mind you
@@scribble__I’m not saying Cagliari are a small team but it’s a bit dumb to compare winning the serie a with winning the champions league. It doesn’t really validate your point at all.
🫶 these accomplishments get me even more excited sometimes
What a legend 👏
This is what football is all about. This is why we love it.
Absolutely underrated
Underrated? What would you like to have him done to be properly rated
@@zanussidish5685 to be the manager of teams in league of Real Madrid and so...
He's like coached the whole italy😂
Lapadula deserves respect, he single handedly carried this team too, if you saw the Parma match you would see how even being knocked out he comes back in the same game 5 minutes later and continues as if the ball strike to the head was nothing, he literally always plays to his utter extreme and no matter what you do to him he will continue playing, this was also justice for him since his last club Benevento sidelined him to punish him for getting injured during Peru’s World Cup qualifiers seeing them plummet from top of the table to barely reaching the playoffs, although he broke his nose, teeth and back, he continued playing like it was nothing when he got the chance to play, unfortunately it wouldn’t be that often after November since the “punishment” would see him come off the bench sometimes, he would be visibly angry even stated several times that he is willing to play and he still scored several goals that season too. Benevento was forced to start lapadula in the playoffs, but it was a little too late, if they had play lapadula they wouldn’t have to be in the playoffs in the first place, glad to see Benevento relegating, they deserve it after letting such a talent rot on the bench for “being injured”.
Wow bro! that is crazy I wasn't aware of this! Are you a Peru fan or really into italian football?
@Peru fan, he recently joined Peru during the 2022 World Cup qualification after several attempts to make it to the Italy squad, he was an immediate success in the Peru squad, you could see throughout the qualification how many times he got player of the matchday, multiple times. Sadly he hasn’t gotten the recognition he deserved, he was labeled as a flop in AC Milan but what people failed to mention is how during that time AC Milan was in crisis and the team was not good at all, placing him in that team was unfair, then you will see him being loaned from team to team endlessly from Genoa to lecce to Benevento, with an even worse team quality, seeing him drop back to serie b. He originally made his name after dragging pescara from serie C to serie A which provoked milan to buy him in the first place. He’s 33 now but still plays as if it’s still his prime, even more aggressive you can argue. Lapadula has always preformed with all his heart for any club he is in, including country. Could even see in the Italy team press how they regret not calling up lapadula after Peru made it into the playoffs.
Lapadula é un buon calciatore solo per la Serie B ...⚽
Who scored 2 goals and give a Penalty to Cagliari?? Zito Luvumbo 🇦🇴
Lapadula is underrated. Put him in a team that plays to his advantage and he will score goals
Underrated legend 🙏
Don’t forget Lapadula! He carried his team and if it wasn’t for him they probably wouldn’t be in the playoffs.🇵🇪
Thank you! I appreciate the thorough backstory for context.
As a Roma fan I love him so much, he is a fellow Roma fan and almost made us win the serie A against treble inter in 2010 and won us 4/4 derbies, simply a legend.

You already know Cagliari will win the Serie A Congratulations Cagliari for winning the 2023-2024 Serie a season
Ngl. Now we need to survive. Serie a will be insanely tough next year. Plus we only took 1 year to go back to the top league but we still lost strong players so this transfer market will be important.
As a Cagliari fan, this was the greatest story ever. Forza Casteddu!
Everyone loves him in the UK. A really loveable football legend/genius. Top man.
Heart warming story. Congrats, Coach R.

Respect to Cagliari and Ranieri as a Bari fan.
Fair play, one of the most likeable blokes in football. Everyone was pleased for Leicester that season here in England
As a life long Chelsea fan I salute this legend of the beautiful Game
What a story of success 👍🏻⚽️
What a story!! Bravo Claudio!
That’s what real football is all about!!!
Possibly one the best underdog managers of all time. The points he got with Chelsea the season before Jose took over would have one the league any other year bar that one with the invincibles, I still hold what he did the reason we won Jose's first one
