Blessings and aloha from Utah! Happy Easter!!!
Happy Easter to You and Family.
Happy Easter
Happy Easter! He has Risen!!💖🙏✨️💖🙏
Happy Easter from Oregon!
The solace & serenity of watching you people in motion. The connection to nature, trees, sap & your harmony with it all.
Felling a tree - you obviously know what you are doing - safety first - & efficiently getting the job done. For 'others' that may have watched. Metolious mini biners (pack of 6) sold in climbing shops, weight bearing; could be attached to the rope that went up & connected around the upper tree. The pull, 2/1 systems with biners and/or pulleys and then a re-direct if necessary; for example, if the tree fall is to the S, the redirect is set up so the rope pull (humans) are to the E (or W); the tree falls & it gets no where near humans. This evergreen trees is less ominous than a large deciduous.
Hopefully soon, new 'fresh' groceries arrive in your abode - that will keep smiles on your faces. I've friends, some that went to central AZ , others to Red Rocks Nev; temps are warm there. Days ago a brother who lives in S Central AZ delivered a fresh bag of grapefruit, orange and lemon. He flew back home Friday, & we have 3 inches of snow today.
I wish I could share them with you; you share so much with 'us'. Thanks
Thanks for the tips.
Why is it that every time your new video pops up, I have to go to the kitchen, make a hot black cup of coffee, sit in my recliner and press play! always enjoyable.
I have been watching you for years now and enjoy every weekend. I really liked this one as you were talking about your lack of supplies. It reminded me of the time I was in the US Navy on a cruise in the Indian Ocean On the CVN-65. Not your normal cruise ship. In 1976 we were on Bicentennial Cruise ran out of food after 30 days mostly milk and eggs . That was along time ago and you only remember the good times right. So One thing I I wish you would do is turn those branches you burned up into fish habitat Next time. instead of burning them tie them into a bundle and when the ice melts but a long rope on them maybe add a few rocks to sink them and put them off of the bank and tie the rope to a tree so it does not float away and become a hazard to navigation . That provides cover for the small fish that either turn into big fish or food for the bigger fish. It's a Salmon Habitat method that we use on our Salmon Habitat project on the Sol Duc River WA. I have been working on this project for 25 years as a volunteer and have found this to be a great cheep way to increase the survival of these fish.
Thank you for your work for our precious community fish. ~a fellow WA .
Sounds like a good idea! 😄😄😄
I could almost smell the maple syrup boiling here in France. 😋
Blessings He has risen Hallelujah
At my parent's cottage in the Laurentians of Quebec they use to say "la glace a calé". The ice sank. It refers to how quickly a lake would go from ice covered to open water. Seemingly as if the ice sank to the bottom of the lake overnight.
Yes so true. When its ready to go it just disappears
Truly a gift from God we call "Treasures from the Trees"... We've been collecting sap and making syrup from Big Leaf Maples in our area near Seattle WA for about eight years. We visited the folks om Vancouver Island during their Big Leaf Maple Syrup Festival to learn from them. What kind of Maple trees are on your island? We are still learning when the sap will run - temp swings, etc. Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us - He is Risen! 🙏🤍🇨🇦🇺🇸
Yes, it truly is a gift from God. The Maple trees in this area are called Sugar Maple. 🍁
Interesting making that maple syrup. I bet it's good. Can you tell Peter that I started watching the XO African series and boy am I enjoying watching those videos. Amazing all the animals. Thanks you guys for sharing their link. As always, another great video.
Awesome video as always EFRT. Y’all’s cabin series is as epic as y’all’s adventures on the road can’t wait until y’all’s next epic adventure on the roads less traveled. I know it’s a week late but Happy Easter to y’all and y’all’s family and friends. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
Maple syrup! Good job. We boil ours on a converted 55 gallon drum, yours works and we enjoy watching. Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome!
Hey! Good morning! Happy Easter to everyone! ☀🌟
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, He is risen.
This has been one of my favorite videos of all that you have posted over the years. It was peaceful, tranquil and very ASMR-esque. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Pete, looks like you haven't lost your landscape touch!!😂 perfect cut down.
Wow on the maple syrup! It looked delish! Love watching these videos at the cabin!
I loved when sugar bubbles would form on the boiling water as it approaches the final ratio. We used to sweep the bubbles with a wooden spoon, then scrape the sugar crystals off the back of the spoon with out teeth.
Wow I never knew thats how pure maple syrup was made. Thats pretty amazing how God put things in place for us to enjoy. Thanks EPRT
You can tap trees for a variety of purposes. It IS amazing isn’t it!
Very nice video. You have found that paradise, beautiful, in peace, clean air and away from the many idiots, you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the peace with nature. Best regards from Frankfurt
Thank you
YES! Happy Easter indeed!
Have you considered putting a brush pile on the lake to create structure under the water when the ice melts? Perhaps this isn't legal in Ontario, or the depth isn't great enough in front of you there.
We’ll look into that. Thanks for the tip
Happy Easter, Happy Resurrection Day.
Hey guys, awesome video. Thanks for taking us along. I am from Wisconsin and run a sugar bush of my own. Dump the ice lol it's nature's reverse osmosis system. We test consistently on incoming sugar content. I have found the highest test from the totes that have the most ice in them. Can't wait to see your next adventure
Happy Easter 🙏🙏
Love this show. Lots of widowmakers surrounding the cabin 😳Cut those while they’re small… (I say from the comfort of my home😂)
Great video folks.
An Aussie/Kiwi here asking .... what do the trees use the maple sap for ?? If you're draining that much from the trees doesn't it weaken the trees ??? I'm not criticising, just trying to understand the entire process of harvesting and making maple syrup please. God has blessed you with a most glorious part of His creation to live. Thankyou always for sharing it with us who have no other means of experiencing such majesty of our Lord.🇦🇺 🤗💞🙏👌👍✌️👏✝️🇨🇦
The sap comes from ground water, which is in unlimited supply, so taking some buckets from a tree doesn’t hurt it at all. The more you take the more it produces. The sap of eventually helps to form the leaves. 🍁 Maple syrup has been produced in this area since before Europeans came to the continent 👍🏻
@@EFRT Thankyou for the explanation and happy Maple Syrup production. We use it here in Aussie on our pancakes !!!!!
Great video as always!!
Might have been better if you took the power saw to the branches of the tree while on the roof, lighten the load of the treetop before trying to take it down.
This way the chances of it getting caught up in the neighbouring trees are lessened.
If you were staying there full time and only leaving to get the essentials in town, I would suggest getting a few chickens for the eggs and meat. They don’t need a lot of care and can be fun, depending on the breed.
Yes we plan to do that, that's a good idea
@@EFRT - after I posted that comment, I though of a few other low-care animals you could keep for more food if staying at the island full-time.
One is rabbits for meat and the manure for compost.
If you are feeling more adventurous, then you could try goats. Those would give you more than meat…like milk and different forms of cheese. You don’t need a lot of goats, just one male and a couple females.
Happy Easter EFRT the ice appears to be melting out fast and has been gone here on the east coast for about a week or so
You can also make birch syrup.
Yes we love birch water but want to try birch syrup
Its really good that you cut that tree before these winds
Happy Easter!! As always enjoyed this so much.
Happy Easter! Looks like the long range forecast for the eclipse looks pretty bad in Dallas. Rain. I bought one of those Fiskars awl after seeing Dan use it on his channel. It is a good one. Although I had to get use to the longer handle as opposed to an axe to get a direct hit. I can almost smell that maple syrup through the TV.
Welcome to another episode of...the epic family road trip....and in the meantime...we'll see again down the road.
Happy Easter to everyone. All of you look good & healthy. Even Lando, the good boy! I enjoyed watching the sugaring process. My late husband loved real Maple syrup on his pancakes. Y'all are living the life we planned until nature took its way with his health. This tells us to live life doing what we love. Don't wait. I hope the family is healing from the loss of your mother, grandmother & sister. Relish the memories.
Happy Easter to you and your family ….Tiny Houston MS
HAPPY Easter!

Happy Easter to you as well I really enjoyed watching ❤your video 🙏❤️✌🏼
On Tuesday the 2nd of April, out here in southern Alberta, we will reach 16C! Nice but short lived. Next 5 days the temps go down and the snow moves in along with rain and rain mixed snow. By the time it's all finished we will have 23+cm on the ground. mmm I was hoping the snow would end but alas that's what you get when you live close to mountains.
Happy Easter. GOD BLESS ❤
Happy Easter ✝️🐰
Happy Easter to your Family
Those ribs looked awesome!
Wow Pete, you can handle that rope, must have been a lumber Jack.
HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY SAINTS
Happy Easter to you all! 🙏🏻❤️
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter 🥰
Late tip: from South Fl. Casting with a fishing rod with a small weight, this make's for a easy guide line to pull up your guide rope up. Miss the shot with the fishing pole line, you must cut off the weight and try again. We love watching your channel.
This probably not on subject but..I have never seen anyone handle a rope like that..very impressive..who taught you that…?
Happy Easter
Blessings and aloha from Utah! Happy Easter, EFRT!
Makes me wonder who first tapped a tree for syrup? Genius!
Yes the First Nations people discovered the sweetness of sap and began boiling it down to syrup in birch bark pots. Very cool that we can keep the tradition alive to this day. 🍁👍🏻
Wish you and your family good luck for the coming days ahead 🙂
Òh those winds are very strong, hope your family will be safe
The maple syrup setup you have is cool.
I hate this … I am into the video and loving it but as you I have outdoor things to do in the fine weather. So this means this evening with Organic popcorn. Good work folks.
Happy Easter! You are making me miss our forest land in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We can’t get up there very much right now because we are relocating to Southern California. But I hope to return there soon to resume projects very similar to those that you are undertaking.
Good Morning from Ballard a community in Seattle, Wa.
I believe you are a Christian Family. You have mentioned your daughter is working for your church, my question
How do you stay in touch with Jesus on the road or at the cabin? Bible study?
I understand if this is to personal, but somehow i think you will share. God Bless you all, Happy Easter back at you.
Happy Easter. You should have a manual cable, winch pincher we keep the pressure that you need. My husband had a login business and everybody worked on it kids, wife

takes me into a comfort zone happy easter god bless
Happy Easter! Love your cabin video’s. I look forward to watching some of your wife’s amazing campfire meals.
Just bring trees down in sections.
How many litres of syrup do you expect to produce this year of wonderful nature’s gold? Will it last until next spring?
A very Happy Easter, hope your family enjoyed it. Yesterday tucked into Hot Cross buns yum. Do you have enough Maple Syrup to last you people a year, when it flows. Would you need to go into town by chopper to get supplies??
Stay warm Cheers to everybody❤
