I am looking to really build out the GoKaioken community. I do video game live streams, videos with RC cars, Vlogs, and all sorts of other stuff. I know this is an old video but IMO this is 1 of the nicest 6s Maxx builds I’ve seen… Simple, solid upgrades & so much fun to drive….

Those Traxxas pinions are like a pressed powder metal. They all break at the grub point like that
clean setup. I just picked on up and am starting to play around with it.
Can you please do a speed test on it?
Why do I get the feeling that the set screw wasn't tight enough? It backed out enough to let the shaft start to rock inside the pinion and finally one blip of the throttle sent enough torque to bust out the area where the set screw was.
I have a tendency to put a dot of Loc-tite on those just for that reason. Nice job on the install though, all of your cars look neat and clean, I like that! Doesn't look like a hack worked on it!
yeah ive never broken a pinion gear in mine, but i am only running mine on 3s lol, did you know the body fits on backwards, found that out twice cos im an idiot
The pinion in my maxx did the exact same. Mine had metal spur at the time
How did you get the zipties for the fan in?
Around just the motor between the motor and motor mount, or just around the motor mount?
If I remember correctly it is just around the motor.
Very clean build. I'm curious, what servo horn is that? Looks similar to stock but I'm assuming smaller mesh diameter to fit the aftermarket servo?
Hey brotha, would you mind showing the wall hangers and what you used to build those? I want to do something like that In my garage but I want something nice and clean and sturdy but I can't see what you've built yours from.
After watching your videos you got me so curious about castle motors I just ordered the 1717 and mmx8s . For now its going in my typhon (truggified) v5. I found the spektrum 2050kv lacking in torque . If its too much Ill just drop in a 1515 or 1520 if it fits. Thx bro.

For this one I believe so, but you can check this - try driving it and if it’s backwards, switch it
How do I learn about brushless motors what can take what for power things like that? I have a brush rustler and I want something brushless 4x4 next that will be fun and jump well

Do you have overheating issues with your Mamba Monster X esc? I have had mine for a month and it’s been hot but even on a nice day it still overheats. I have 24/50 gearing. What gearing would you recommend for this system?
If it’s overheating then definitely drop the gearing by 1 or 2 teeth and/or add a fan. No issues that I’ve experienced.
So I made mine 8s which is awsome ! , just that two 4s batteries are expensive so might just go with 6s, what's the play time you get out of that battery pack ?
I haven’t killed it yet before I was done running, so over 15 minutes but I know a lot of guys run much longer
I’m sorry I’m totally a fan but on for us the stock tracks is Max will do everything that you ask it … it wheelies at 60 Kph The only difference is you might be able to power really up at a higher speed but you’re breaking more stuff more constantly I just don’t see the benefit in the cost of that mamba system the max is a very well-designed truck stock
Yep, if you’re happy with stock, awesome! I haven’t broken anything in the drivetrain yet.
I know this is an older video but… If you were to stick with the stock spur and use the 1515 Castle system mmx ONLY on 4S what pinion size would you use?
I’d personally reuse the stock size.
Interesting story so I had a mmx 8s with 1515 right and I geared down to 17 54 so doing that I thought would relieve the load so the weird part is that I started to snap input shafts which was extremely weird and I ended up going to stock gearing on 6s and it stopped doing so I wonder if the transfer ratio with the input shaft is too high which causes it to snap so I think a good idea for the future is to try a lower KV motor maybe like a Holmes Hobbies 1900kv punchy motor. Try not to Gear down too low I think it would be better to keep it 4s but either with the 2650 or 2200 but just an idea. RIP Leep frog the Maxx 🤣😭 (I used to call my truck that)

How do you like the max? Thinking about picking one up for my son. I think he'd be good 4s.
It’s a great durable truck. I’m very happy with it. Even on 4S it’s very powerful. Depending on how old he is you may want to put 3S in it.
@@GoKaioken he's 12 but I've let him use my 8s xmaxx and he's pretty good. I sold the 1/16 E-Revo he use to use. He was bored with it.
I’m not hating because I actually want to do it too that’s why I looked it up but I just don’t see the benefit totally thumbs up though
To me the benefit is more power on the top end like you mentioned. Wheelies at any speed. But the other is the sensored system allowing you to go very very slow and smooth if you want to.
Where did you get the roll cage for the Maxx?

What is the gear ratio you put in? I think I'm running 26/46
I did the bigger xmaxx gear, so 26/54 I believe
What exactly didn't work with the rpm cage?
The RPM esc cage mount does not line up with the Maxx chassis mounting holes.
@@testrak I used the rpm plate in mine and it worked perfect. There are two sets of mounting holes on the chassis. I used the two that are closer together and in the middle. I mounted one side with the original rpm hole, and drilled and chamfered another hole on the opposite side to match the hole distance on the chassis. Next I drilled the one support post on the chassis and put another hole on the rpm plate. Super solid. So I have a screw on each side and one in the center. Definitely not going anywhere!
Whats spur gear and pionion are u running?
Really close to stock - no issues
