- I have had a few requests for this video, so I hope this helps someone out there! Good luck on your cataloging and processing journey! :)
I'm a high school library media specialist at a school of 1,300 students. Follow my library journey and learn about what I'm reading each month!

Any donations will probably truly buy me a coffee... I rarely treat myself to Starbucks, but with a three-year-old wild child at home, a full-time job, trying to grow my CZcams channel, and training for my first half marathon, I need all the coffee lol. - Zábava
One of my favorite parts of my job is selecting and buying new books for the kids in my school and seeing how excited they are when they arrive
Me too!! I also love previewing them when they come in. It's like the only time I get to read a few pages on the job - haha!
Just what I need😂 just learned how to catalog books last week and end processing for the coming week.
Good luck - fun times... lol
I stumbled across this while deciding if I want to move from Elementary Librarian to High School Librarian and caught the name of your school. I graduated from that school! Let's go Cardinals! I am definitely subscribing!
Haha! That's wild! I love SCHS! We're getting a brand new building next school year. :)
Hi! Thank you for this video. Can you do another video showing us how to cover the paperback please❤
That's a great idea! I sure will!
Wow Your content is so informative. Im going to start my carrier as a School librarian. Hope I'll also enjoy my job as you do. ❤
Thank you so much! Also, yay! Good luck! I hope to start a new series soon that will focus on tips for new librarians. :)
@@manuscriptsmusickandmore7901 that would be so great 💯😍
hlo thank you for this video it is help full 🥰😇
Awesome! Glad I could help!
In fact, it would be much faster if you edit the books' call number in MARC view instead of copy edition page in Follet Destiny. The call number will pop up automatically for future new copies.
Thank you so much for the tip!
I literally am getting ready to do this. I know how to do everything except print the labels from my system. It is painful to watch book wrapping as much as to do. I have not had the time to do the processing of new books yet this year. I have an assistant for about 35 minutes in the morning and that’s it. My books are from Scholastic. I look forward to having my Marc records for my perma-bound books.
Good luck! I am so sorry that you don't have much help in the library. I am lucky that I have about 10 teacher's aides (seniors) throughout the day to help me. :)
Hello ma'am, do you use Coha software? if not then is this software same as like Coha software?
I have actually never heard of Coha software. We use Follett Destiny. My district chooses the software for the libraries.
@@manuscriptsmusickandmore7901 ok, actually in India Koha is very popular library software, and I am ignorant about Koha, that's why I am asking.
Please what application do you need to get started
Sorry I'm just now responding! My school district uses Follett Destiny for our library system. :)
Okay, thank you so much@@manuscriptsmusickandmore7901
You move and talk so fast. ❤
I do the job 3 people... I couldn't get it all done with moving this fast! Hahaha!
You need a mini tripod 😂
I have one, actually. :) I was using it here and holding it in my lap because it would angle downwards enough if I sat it on my desk lol.
