I hope some of the metal reviews channels/magazines don't sleep on this album when it comes out, because judging by this single it's going to be absolutely epic. Sonata Arctica are such a great band, not just with power metal but damn, they sure know how to do it the best when they want to... so hyped for the new album.
A day when Sonata drops a new song is a day of celebration 🎉 I like this single, it reminds me of weballergy, the guitar tone is MUCH BETTER than the last album, keys sound amazing and Elias is showing a great improvement in his solo, much more like their older days when the chemistry was off the charts, also Tony's voice is as wonderful as ever. I like this energy and i hope it continues on throughout their upcoming album, I'm excited.
Finally some new 'real' sonata music and not just acoustic covers. This single is really powerful and reminds me of their phase between unia and stone grows her name. Love it! Can't wait for a full album.
i think that was more tony wanted to make some album acoustic because yeah they was good acoustic to. but for me is very more the old sonata here musically but yeah unia and even cloud factory but think is gonna be again a silence like album =)

Their roots have been embraced wholeheartedly, although some concerns have been raised that it might come off as a bit too safe and outdated. Surprisingly, despite having released only three albums, Beast in Black has amassed more Spotify listeners than Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius combined. A bit more evolution in their sound was anticipated by many, but the direction that will be taken with the new album will be interesting to hear. There is no doubt that they are one of the most talented bands in their niche.
I agree! I love Strato, Sonata and Beast in Black, but have to remember that Strato and Sonata have done long careers before Spotify and have a lot more record sales / gigs over Beast in Black. Sonata definitely changed after Jani Liimatainen left, will have to see what the new album will be like.
As an fan who knew them since Tricky Beans, i'm pleased that the band never holds back and try different things (even if i don't like half of the titles of the last records). You can't say there's nothing for you in their discography, there's so much choice. I like this new song, and i'll enjoy it, but seeing how Talviyo turns after the reveal of Message form the sun i won't hype myself too much.
I agree! I love their old stuff, I'm big fan of Jani Liimatainen and his work. But even tho I'm not that into their newer production, I'm fine with the band's evolution. I've still managed to find songs that I love from every album. They have gotten new different kind of fans with their new style of music. I'm excited to see what the new album will be like!
I was a young teenager when I bumped into their first album, Ecliptica at the local library...was love at first hearing! Seen them play live many times since then
I won’t put my hope too high. They deceived me so much with their past album following the awful Unia. Let’s hear the complete album before saying if this single is just a small attempt to bring back the old fans.
