Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. The difference between last years division and the one before that is even more madness.
PKs work rate this season so far has gone up loads he’s everywhere the past few games and where did this pace come from 😂 don’t get refs not giving more then one penalty in a game when there clearly is more in some games. We’re creating a good few chances we just can’t seem to get that last piece as often as we should
The defence was the problem today, I’ve not seen the full game so I’m not gonna comment too harshly but from these highlights they were shocking.
@@jackcarter05 My thoughts exactly, they looked so slow, complacent and overall just not the level we should be at for this league. Tbf scoring goals is also not coming easy this season, looks like the guys are missing that edge of last season
saks is a baller although i feel like he doesnt have that little edge that jermaine francis had

To be fair he was tracking a man, however I agree it is quite embarrassing him not trying to fight for the ball back straight away
His only mistake was losing the ball there. Once that's happened he isn't getting the ball back from that position no matter how hard he tries. He then tracks his man all the way (off screen) and gets goal side.
Where are the 2 DMs that aren't meant to be in the middle covering him? Where were they on edge of the box covering the attacker? Everyone's looking really lazy this season

Ted curd looking really promising, some really good saves nothing he could do with the 2 goals, the oppositions number 9 looked a handful all game! But I’m starting to worry the amount of draws we’re picking up especially against teams like this game that have lost 4/6. Up the tags never the less!
Thought we really missed Harry today just so reliable and team plays better when he’s in the team

I feel like Greg only gives his max effort when the same is being given around him, and there are certainly positions who are not working super hard and they also don’t have Greg’s quality and it’s hurting the team as a whole
Good draw considering was 2-0 down and could have been more. Ted Curd playing immense! Team playing well considering this is a tough league.
Decision making from Cornish in final 3rd is shocking
maybe its just me..but he's not as good as they make him out to be

Not trying to bash Cornish as his quality is clearly up to par but watching this season I have felt the midfield has lacked defensively especially in transition. PK has certainly earned the cam role but I feel without both cornhill and Watson able to play behind him, PK should slide next to Watson as I think he will be able to provide more attacking freedom and even service for Cornish than vice Versa as well as bringing a little more composure and assurance in the defensive areas.

Can we get something straight....Saks is NOT Jermaine's replacement. They aren't on the same level so its unfair to Saks to compare them. I dont like how we keep bringing up jermaine name when talking about saks.

@@ezeuzuka3344 yes both are different players but it's quite clear that Saks was brought in to play in the position that Jermaine left vacant... so you can compare the impact for the team even if not the playstyles
@@nobz1375he wanted to progress up the decision to something more professional. He now is at Chelmsford in National league south (so the devision above hashtag) and just got a call up to Grenada national team!
Never give up, hats off to the team. To many 4 v 2s at the back from the highlight reel. Seemed like the cms and wingers didn't want to track to much.

Man it was so important to get Ted Curd after Alexis Andre couldn't play more as expected. Goalkeeping really well and huge for the Tags. Without him Tags probably would've lost this game. Fantastic comeback from the Tags and yet again another team undisciplined against the Tags and getting a red. Huge draw seeing how bad it look at the start of 2nd half
Halford was playing like he didn’t care, first goal was his fault. Could’ve poked the ball towards the corner but instead tried to outmuscle
I love Greg and Tom but I think it's time to look for a younger cb to rotate with.

I'm gonna be honest, based on the highlights (might be different watching the whole match) this was so poor from us, and we should not be happy with the draw. I know it sounds harsh, but during pre-season our attack looked so lethal, yet now, we look barely able to shoot. We have too many players losing the ball and then jogging back, thinking someone else will deal with it. I will give you your dues though, even at 2-0 we didn't give up on the game, and that last handball in the box definitely should have been a penalty, but yet again the ref doesn't want to make a decision like that so late on, so decides on nothing. We need to get back in the zone boys, lets get it! Up the Tags! #💛💙
Facts
Teams work rate in transition was terrible, the amount of players jogging back is horrific. 1 look at these players from a scouting position makes me turn away immediately and re consider… PK was the only one with consistent work rate. Also I can see why Curd is a chelsea baller
Energy looked lacking this game. Not just in transition but also the ball movement seemed lazy too

@@JulianJamesProd. I was thinking that, I came into the comments to see if others did too. If any part of the pitch needed to put more into it it was the defence. They were so lethargic and desireless when in transition. Like there seemed to be no desire to actually defend and when they did get back to defend the effort was sloppy. Like fair play to Ted for all those saves but if the defence is doing their job correctly the goalkeeper wouldn't have to work that hard in the first place.
Hashtags defence definitely seems to be their weakest point.

It's good to see finally the tags with some quality opposition as they deserve to be in this league. I don't think auto-promotion is on the cards for a while from here but you never know. In these kind of leagues, plenty of players are still going away on holidays or working etc... Just need a few results to go your way!

Taking a point when not playig anywhere near your best is never bad upon reflection. Needed a bit of grit in there it seems, Toby is changing that game coming off the bench.

Got out of jail but need to up the consistency. The impact of the subs doesn't seem as much as last year when the additional pace coming on most weeks really made a difference.

Team just isn't good enough rn. I was worried from the beginning about our attackers. Sak is fine but doesn't have the cutting edge. Teniola hit or miss. We need to go and get Pedro and Jermaine back if they are without clubs or still looking to settle somewhere.
Keep humble Hashtag. A new better standard of league, you should be happy to get points like these and concentrate on survival. You can’t expect to jump through these leagues, respect the points you get and work harder for the next game. It’s a long hard season

most people before the season even started were concerned about the attack whether its good enough to carry the team through the season and so far its not been convincing
I can see the difference in this level...They are just that step quicker...and the keepers. But if Hashtag can get some of the shots to go in...they will gain confidence.

The first half was bad. I don't know if the centre backs are isolated but a quick break with a ball over the top was working for their team every time.

Joe Keith looks like he has been given unlimited control to take over by devs! It’s a good move as a fresh voice can change things and much needed. Gives devs a bit of a break from shouting as well. Overall we weren’t too bad, but slightly worrying in defense, a bit too sloppy and lazy, and that can’t become a habit. Hopefully pick up a good result in FA cup, as it will be very important to get to round 3 of qualifiers!
Just on the Joe thing…it’s pretty much always been that way but we’ve never had a mic on him. They’ve always worked as a pair 👊

Defense was so pony today but good point
Missing a few things; Jermaine's constant pressuring of the opposition defence and general work rate, there's a lack of goals currently and there seems to be a struggle with keeping on top of the opposition forwards and wingers, but we're still settling into the league and I think a few style changes to adapt with new players and we'll be back as sharp as ever.
Why does everyone keep talking about Jermaine he was a good player but this was a leauge below hashtag as a whole are struggling to adapt to the step up it’s not like jermaines ripping it up at Chelmsford either scoring every week
@@user-wn6ik9xz1y because he provided something that no one else really did, which was the constant pressuring, always going for 2nd balls, working super hard on and off the ball. Yes ofc that was the league below but those traits aren't really seen in the rest of the attack to the same extent and are very much still applicable in this league. Not a surprise that he's not crushing teams 2 leagues higher than he'd previously played, the National North and South are a monumental step up compared to even step 7, let alone step 8
Really missing some direct wingers. Defence is always gonna be under the pump the way the ball has been rebounding front to back so quickly.

Looks to be a real tough season this one, teams look hard to deal with. He might have of scored but bit of a shocker from Tommo today, Saks work rate is looking poorer by the game. I back the lads to bounce back with a W next game

Those 2 goals were completely avoidable. Hashtag's defence were so nonchalant for both
Tough start to the season but the defence looks really lacking. Everything I've seen Greg do defensively in the last 8-12 weeks looks so half arsed, weak tackles, losing the ball and just walking but seems like all is forgotten after a penalty gets scored or we constantly get reminded of his "experience". Surely this experience we hear about would say never give up, never stop running, go through the player to get the ball. Was great the first season but I really feel there's better options. As a keeper myself I'd be worried having him in front of me

Yeah, loan player, but with his performances, hopefully, he will help him get further up the leagues. Young players will be able to see the development at hashtags, and clubs will as well, more loans/young Academy talents joining because they know that they can develop and go on to do better things or become a part of the legacy of the club

The beginning was not good enough to be honest. And we still have a problem up front. We are missing composure and a player who guaratees a goal or assist almost every game. We have attackers with potential tho..
