- Well I think you’ll have gathered from the title that, after a great deal of thought and consideration, I’m saying farewell to you all for the immediate future.
I hope you’ll watch today’s video for a full explanation rather than just read my message here in this description.
Suffice to say I wouldn’t be stopping my video uploads if I didn’t have the very best of reasons, so all I can say is I know you will all understand, because you have always been such great supportive friends and I value each and every one of you SO much.
Before I go, I’m pleased to share a garden update from the wonderful Tracie whose garden we visited just a few weeks ago in West Downs, Dorset. My goodness, her garden lighting is to die for!! I do hope you enjoy seeing that.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say just one thing to you all … and that is THANK YOU. You’ve made my last 5 years on CZcams a great joy with all your wonderful comments and great friendship. I’m going to miss chatting to you all. Now … go and clear out your garden sheds 😂😂

Hello Janette and Richard, I agree 💯 on spring and winter being the peak of excitement in the garden. With summer and the dreadful heat( especially here in the US), we get crazy humidity, it’s been a struggle to maintain anything, even basic chores. Blessings to you both, you are doing the right thing by taking care of Richard and getting him in tip top condition, and such wonderful news about Richard’s heart being in great shape, so happy for that🫶.Enjoy your holiday, a cruise sounds exactly what you both need. You and Richard are the most important people. Take care of yourselves,and enjoy what is left of summer. Have a wonderful trip. The only thing about clearing out the shed, it makes us get up and clean our shed, you motivate us. Take a big rest. I think it would be too stressful coming up with ideas every week. Don’t let videos make you feel like it’s a chore instead of enjoying your garden. Sit and relax in your garden. Your fans can watch the old videos, I really like them. Richard, we hope you feel better. Eat lots of goodies on the cruise.

I too have garden burnout! I understand how you feel. I still love gardening but I'm exhausted by this time in the season! I'm so sorry to hear about Richard's health issues and I pray for good healing, good health, and a good holiday! Hope you both have a great holiday and Richard gets himself sorted out. I know where you are coming from as I'm going into hospital next week for major life changing surgery so will be forced to take a lengthy break from video making, i won't even be able to do anything in the garden 🙄.

My husband had open chest surgery last October and also was losing weight and muscle strength. His visiting nurse suggested protein bars and drinks. They made a world of difference for him and he started thriving. Definitely worth a try. Prayers for this time of relaxing and renewal. God bless and keep you both.

I'm also suffering from a bit of garden burn out, and the leaves falling already from my neighbours silver birch trees are not helping. I'm not ready for leaf clearing yet.
