I'd say many people misunderstand my skills a bit, since much of what I put out on CZcams is more chilled gameplay for enjoyable content. In the past I also became known as a US expert (I regret this a lot) and it hurt my reputation in world gameplay. During the pre-quali and quali I played at the skill level I like to think I have, and while I don't disagree that I'm one of the weakest WC players, I think I can play stronger than people expect. Also having a content background I think will be beneficial for the mental aspect, same goes for folks like zi8gzag and Jake of course. Anyway just my rant of thoughts :)
Yess excited to watch the tournament! :) I’ve been rewatching your long form tournament videos a lot so I knew almost everyone’s names but I didn’t really know much more about them so this was insightful to watch! I’m rooting for Zi8gzag to win because I’ve been watching his CZcams videos a lot since the tournaments stopped and they’ve been pretty informational! :)
As you said, I don’t know a lot about Trabota, but having watched a lot of Jake’s content and seeing how insanely Blinky does in all the different competitions Trabota must be one hell of a player for you guys to rank him higher. Looking forward to it!
I was really hoping you'd make this video!! needed yours and Ziggi's insight, you better make a reaction after the WC :) (crazy that Jake just beat Trabota in his Road to WC series 😭)
According to Jake's track record in his series, he should probably be in "Likely to win". But to be honest, I agree that momentum and Blunders _really_ get to him, and the format it particularly bad for him. Plus his seeding, I think it will be an amazing underdog series if he fights his way out of Group D. Would love to see it!!! for context - in the tiers above, he's won against: Trabota, Kodiak, maccem, Fungus, Wolftrekker and zi8gzag. He's won against every competitor he's played in "Could Win" and "Underdog" EXCEPT for CG. So, yeah I agree CG is underrated lol.
@@arrowheaded i watched one of the vids, a best of 5 with, iirc, 1 moving, 2 no moving, 2 NMPZ. Do you know if the actual tourney is similar or substantially different in format?
Yo Rainbolt. Video idea for you. In professional baseball, the baseballs are made from lots of different materials, but one of the ingredients is mud from a secret river in New Jersey. Gotta back that "you have to keep up". I used to be a lower level pro around 2020, stopped playing for a year and a half or so, came back in 2022 and I'm so far behind, and yet I'm way better than I used to be in those 2020 days. The community has advanced so far and keeps advancing all the time; you have to keep up or you're nowhere near the top. Also, I'm rooting for the OGs; Topotic was probably the best back when I was playing out of the people participating, but Radu's also higher than I expected. Want to talk about a real OG, though? Granis was the GOAT of the early days. Don't know how many people will recognize his name, but he was insane, especially at Russia but even across the board. The attention eventually got to him (he's deleted multiple youtube channels), but I saw him stream a couple times and post on youtube some and it was always stunning to see how good he was.
Personally, i think if youre going to have fungus in likely to win, I think Jake should be right next to him given they have very similar play styles and skill levels. I also think he wil have less anxiety in the tournament given his temperment and experience but I could be wrong.
This tournament is gonna go so hard. I'm rooting for Zigzag, screw the 8, as he's my favourite personality, but I underestimate him just because he's a content creator, despite his content consisting of a 2 hour coaching session on Mexico.
