I think I have found the perfect place to go and explore..
Everything looks incredible, and I could happily spend a few months seeing the place, eating my way around everywhere

I grew up in Malaysia. Diversity is not even thought to be a phenomenon (taken for granted).
    Lived overseas for decades.
And only after decades, learned how intolerant other places are towards diversity. 😅

Been to Malaysia - fantastic place. We went up those PETRONAS Towers in Kuala Lumpur as well as the KL Tower. I was also amazed how diverse the country was, particularly in the capital.......we walked through Little India, that was an experience...a good one. Great infrastructure and a magical mix of the old and the new. Yes, the British influence is there, but so is Middle Eastern and the Sub Continent. We intend to return there when things return to normal and I would encourage anyone thinking of going to book and go

My Dad spent his National Service out in Malaya, (I think you'd call it "drafted"?) 1950-52, he loved the place, even when he was "up the jungle" patroling against the CTs lol

It was a magnate back then because Malaysia used to have the biggest tin mining deposits and the biggest tin producer. Back then, tin was like oil. On top of that Malaysia has many other natural resources such as Rubber, Palm Oil, Cocoa, etc. So Malaysia attracted a lot of migrations from China, India, Middle East, Indonesians & some Europeans via colonization. Malaysia and the US are almost equally diverse in my opinion.

Malay being muslims is a thing from 500 years ago. Our kings practiced Islam, so at that time the people in general will follow. It's not something new that you can rewind and change now, especially when we are generally happy to be muslims
