32 views….Nobody is interested there needs to be a buzz 🐝 created. You have the facilities, decant players, with a sprinkle of star dust to it the club / team could go on an unbelievable running.

Longford Town Football Club, I am interested in the first team job. I bought the first underage trophy 🏆to the club in 16 years with pure professionalism. ⚽️

First half away to Wexford was really poor, and overall Vs Cork the game could have been 7 if they broke out of 1st gear. Fair play to groves stepping in when hendo was sacked, and peers leaving the club in the shit only a few hours after the club advertising he was interim manager….(Peers clearly saw something he wasn’t happy with to quit) also peers gets on his pro licence by getting the Longford assistant job and the pisses off. Maybe he stepped away because he was offered interim and not the actually job, knowing he’s only standing in until someone else takes over from him. (Maybe he felt let down by that) maybe he was right to jump before he was pushed!
What are Longford looking for in a manager? Experience? Youth with new ideas/freshness/interim rest of season? If the 3rd Loi Lg was in now Longford would be seriously looking at relegation. Personally I think they should give fresh blood a chance introduce more local lads, train in Longford and build something for the town to be proud of! This Longford club playing in Dublin business isn’t and hasn’t worked so maybe the fresh route, loads of up and coming managers ready for opportunity. Been talk about Anthony Elding given the opportunity, why not nothing to lose. Wasn’t he offered the Wexford job last year. I watched his Longford teams over the years and it had everything fans would want to see on the pitch and off by what Stephen Kelly was saying (former town player) he did very well for the club in recant years.
Players like Shane Elworthy (club captain deserves more) will be very difficult to keep him at the club next season as this has been going on too long, he’ll end up at bray or somewhere next year. I don’t see drive an passion form the current staff & players TBH.
Jim Hanley & the board of management it’s time to sort this out! How can you sack a manager without a replacement or advertisement of the job. Literally a stab in the dark moment.

Wexford are not even a great team either. Longford in fairness do have a few nice players in the ranks. They just need some professional guidance.

What’s the latest with getting a new manager? 3 games have past with the interim, is he taking the job or will it be advertised? Fans really need putting in the picture. Interim bases, 3 Games, Draw 1, Lost 2, Score 4, Conceded 7….11 games this season as a whole without a win. Clubs needs some stability.

Agree, fresh impetus is required. Longford Town actually won FAI cup years ago and now look at them. Lacks serious ambition. Century year and it’s been let down massively, isn’t it suppose to be a celebration. The place is like a kick about in the park with a few friends. Needs some passion drive dedication. Surly it’s hard to get a connection in the town / fans when there are zero local players, don’t train in Longford, constantly losing weekly throughout the football club.
