Can the President and the Speaker of Parliament please confirm that all government deployees (Metro/Provincial and National) will be required to exclusively make use of the NHI services and that their privileged current medical aid scheme(s) will no longer be funded by the taxpayers?

I have multiple family members who work at Public Hospitals. There HAS BEEN a shortage of basic medicine and equipment. The doctors can, more often than not, simply not tend to the people.
They should upgrade service and equipment in these hospitals. No person in the country should have to worry about not getting the appropriate treatments for their health problems . Secondly- with this new NHI, all government officials should be forced to use only this. Currently they have extreme medical aid benefits which are paid for by taxpayers and which is prolonged after their careers as gov officials end.
This is simply another thing which will benefit NO ONE and be a detriment to taxpayers alone.

No one was expecting for it to just blow up and happen right away. Nothing ever is done that way, I mean look at how long it’s still taking for load shedding to be resolved. We are worried about where the funding will come from, how much tax payers will be hit, whether public facilities and services will be improved and by when, the risks of this initiative and how the those risks will be mitigated. Fraud: how will officials be held accountable for not using the funding correctly etc…Eish 😢
