    It is nice coming back to watching where LPL started. Thank you for keeping all of your videos in tact.

    Great picking! Doubt anyones laughing.. very few will make the effort to gut Euros!

      l0ckcr4ck3r Thanks. Gutting those things without a mess is pretty much impossible without the right tools. With the right tools, I suspect that it is just as easy as most other locks once you have enough experience (which I do not have... yet).

      slim_pickins Thanks... I didn't know that was the model. I've been picking on the lock, but never took the time to look it up. It's a hell of a lock for the money... at least as far as pick resistance goes. Spring tension on the core really wrecks me.

    • @slim_pickins1298
      @slim_pickins1298 Před 9 lety +3

      LockPickingLawyer if it helps I used moderate tension on mine and it gave nice crisp sets until it goes into a false set. After this you really need to seriously adjust the tension when setting the spools. If you keep moderate tension when trying to set the spools the spring tension on the lock will give you a headache. Once you've located clear counter rotation push on the pin but 'almost' let up on the tension as if the tension wrench is NEARLY moving freely until the spool sets then tension on again.....and so on until she pops. Hope this helps.

      I got the tools from DHGate... search for "Lock disassembly tools" and you should find a cased set including (i) 3 followers, (ii) a 3-piece segmented follower, (iii) 2 different sized core holders, (iv) tweezers, (v) needle nose pliers, (vi) clip removal tool, and (vii) the euro cylinder top pin bar. There are several sellers with the same product, but if you search around, you can find it for less than $25 with free shipping (others charge up to $90!).

    does it mean that if the driver pins can't be seized/caught, then the lock is pickproof? So if they can be replaced from cylinder shaped to cone shaped or plastic pill shaped, then the lock is pickproof?

  • @sandernieuwenhuizen626

    Why do you pick this lock up side down? Isn't it more realistic if you pick it the way it will be inside a door? You also say "put in te top of the keyway, but actually it is the bottom. (This is not a negative comment, it is just a queation)

  • @Groove1024

    Hi, i'm french and it looks like there is a trick you not know in that lock.
    one day, a long time ago my neighbor come back from his work but without his keys he forgot them and i did a violent attack on almost the same lock with a drill and so i killed all the pin and so the core been able to turn freely well.... it was really free.... it was possible to turn it but not to open the door. the tip of the key press to the thing that is in the middle between both the core. if it's not at the right spot, the core turn alone and that can't open the door but because the lock was already not usable anymore, i continued to drill up to the point i can cut the screw that attach the lock into the door and i use the lock of my door to open.
    this is a really brute force opening of a door but with no picking tools and not the knowledge it was a solution so what i did next was to clean all the mess that was in the door for not have mechanical problem because the ton of brass chips inside..... best way to destroy everything and the next day when he was at work i bought a new lock for the door and gave the keys in the evening....
    that lock with a drill die really fast in movies or when a pro do it but when it's done by someone who not know totally how it works..... it can become a big fail.
    well i got it and i not damaged the door with was what i was supposed to do so on the end it been ok and really low cost to repair also, the lock was a piece of shit and this is why it been not too hard to cut it in 2 parts. when i say brass, it was looking like brass.... no idea what it was exactly

    • @tarasb2242
      @tarasb2242 Před 5 lety +1

      It happens when you install a lock designed for a door that opens to the left on a door that opens to the right and vice versa. I have two doors to my apartment and one of the locks is upside down due to that reason.

    • @nimmen
      @nimmen Před 5 lety +1

      @@tarasb2242 That's weird, because we have the same locks (different brand euro locks, but both are the same) in the front and back door. Both open inward, but each the other way. The locks are both the correct way up.

    • @tarasb2242
      @tarasb2242 Před 5 lety +1

      In Europe , they're always installed the other way around, hence the question, I suppose. I've seen it in many LPL videos.
      Comes down to geographic areas and preferences.
