Luccica | Opera Horror Film

👻 This Halloween, I'm sharing a project close to my heart: "Luccica," a haunting short opera.👻
In the summer of 2019, a remarkable ensemble of cast and crew united to craft this haunting operatic short film. Nearly five years have passed since its creation, and it remains one of the most cherished projects I've had the privilege to be a part of. I know directing is seen as an auteur medium, but really I owe everything great about this film to the specialists who worked alongside me. If one thing was out of line here, it wouldn't be effective, so I thank each of you so much for dedicating to this weird idea, and working your butt off those two hot summer weekends in 2019.
The story revolves around a newlywed couple embarking on married life, renovating an old Victorian house to make it their forever home. Tragedy strikes as the young wife takes her own life before her husband's eyes. Little do they know, a vengeful ghost already occupies the house, seeking retribution for her tragic life. She lures the husband to his doom using the voice of his former love, like a siren calling a sailor to shipwreck. An eerie pact ensues, promising a more complete existence in the afterlife, entangling them all.
The film stars Phillip Shaun Devone, Stephanie Stoiko, and Rochelle Nichole.
