Just starting out in this crazy sport, this fall will be my first year racing. You are 100% correct, the time it takes, while very enjoyable, is a lot more then I actually anticipated.

good luck with your first year, yes its ok if your retired like a lot of flyers but the time into the birds makes a huge difference.

Looking forward to the one lofts. If I ever actually get into racing that’s what I’m going to do. I don’t have the time for local races. I only have a few birds right now I lost 12 of my 14 to a predator so just have one pair left and their offspring. You’ve come a long way since I first started watching a few years back.
I think it would work well for you, then you only need to keep a simple loft enough for a few pairs breeding, it is very appealing in that aspect it really makes keeping racing pigeons simple and easy.
Getting the work v family v pigeon balance right is definitely a challenge!

Horses for courses one loft races 500km plus final 3000km+ of training and hotspots hot climate 1100 / 1200 will need a different pigeons to the lofts that have tail winds every year 1500s a lot of thought needs to go into your one loft entries .

Alright MANEY LOFT’s just reading your reply to my last txt with the bloodline the birds were bred in2 some of them would have no problem doing 200k right out to 500k, I just cant wait to see the birds returning and MANEY LOFT’s clock’s his first bird, 👍 🇮🇪DUBLIN🇮🇪, the one loft race it’s going to help you a lot and like you said you’ll be racing the best birds,plus you can still race in your local club when you want as well, it’s going to be a GREAT SUCCESS 🤞🇮🇪 DUBLIN🇮🇪, have a look at a chap called Sean Hunt he’s from Dublin but he does the one loft racing, but the best birds from around the world are sent to Sean, unbelievable fancier&he also has great results in his own club, have a look 👀 TOP QUALITY BIRD’s,👍

Hi kurt been watching your channel for years even before this channel when you had raven snow John snow thunder and so on. I think you need to pair the kittle with the red check vdb.then breed the son back to kittle. then one loft race with the ybs from them.

One loft races is more competitive than your normal club races i won everything there is to win in the club races but if you want to enter one loft races you need good birds if you want to compete on the highest level here in South-Africa there are a few good fanciers who have purchased quality birds from Belgium and over the world

Yeah 1 loft racing is the go,when you have high of rain import bloodlines.I have been doing for years.With bloodlines like Terminated 2,Vanloons,Bushearts, to name a few.

For one loft races check out the one loft races that you pay entry fees after they have completed 100km+ training . Pay a entry fee send a team and only pay the one entry up front these are the races to look for . Do not entertain any races where they want all entry fees up front .

Olr, s are my life pretty much lol! I do rpra, the algarve gold & algarve winter derby, i do derby Arona and Barcelona olr which is a very interesting olr as its 3 seasons long if you're bird can make it giving 3 years of prize potential and international awards on offer in the great Barcelona

Preparation only send ybs from your very best pairs and send them at a minimum of 45 but preferably near to 60 days old . Preparation vaccines are important pox vaccine also Newcastle disease + Paratyphoid . You can do lots of checking on one loft races via the internet i use benzing one loft races website daily following all the one loft races you can check history of previous races on this website .
Can someone explain how you can enter an international race say in USA when your birds are homed to your loft in Australia.

The cheq hen video 23 mins is the type of pigeons to send to one loft races . Hens perform better than cocks small to medium type hens are what are needed .
I would say thats storm she is little but will fly in any weather and likes head winds not the fast but she wil coke back to perch
@@ManeyPigeons I do not know how far you can race club racing but if you are thinking of sending to 500km one loft race i would recommend you send your yb hens out to race at 500km and breed from the best yb hens as yearlings to your best cock .
@@ManeyPigeons You talk about being short of cocks you only need one or two stock cocks learn the bull system and use the other pigeons that you do not want to breed from as feeders .

You will never have a million-dollar race here because quarantine won't allow birds into Australia that's why you won't have that race here
I wasn't thinking of brining birds in for it but working within, who knows!
It's a good idea but you haven't got enough people in Australia
Its close, this season there is close to 3000 birds competing in OLR within Australia and at $350 a bird which is close to $1m, given $350 is cheap entry compared to the one lofts outside of australia, if the intakes could double and minus expenses there could be a chance given the scene & OLR operators worked closer together. Given its really been GC50k for the last decade and 2 newer larger ones of recent lets hope it can keep growing plus if they got more creative then i think its possible 🤔 just my thoughts
