There is no way the Joe pavelski thing is possible, even if he was scoring 40 a season it would take him 15 years to get to his total so there must have been some sort of visual glitch or possible an error in the code which made him able to play for so long.
I know in nhl they have the all time players and some of them are listed as over 100 years old but if you put a them into franchise mode they only are listed at 27 so maybe he played until a certain age where it caused him to get reset to 27 years old and keep playing?
Or maybe another created player named Joe pavelski came into the league but I’m very confused on how this happened
