This song really speaks for itself, Dio lived rocking his ass off and gave his heart and soul to rock and roll. He was also a generous and genuine soul who gave and gave and gave so much to other's. This is well documented, and I am sure he is ironically enough, in heaven sitting at the pearly gates, waiting for us. RIP - Dio
Bought this concert on VHS when it first came out from a record store that is now an Arby's in a food court at the mall. God bless Dio, heavy metal and hard rock for keeping my sanity during the daily torture that was high school. I miss the '80's strictly for the music and my youth when concerts were truly events to be experienced and not just something to do on the weekends.
My first heavy-metal concert was Dio in Norman, OK at the Lloyd Noble Center in 1986. I must have been 16, and thought the floor would open up into some hell. I was intimidated. But best show, to this point, I have ever seen. God keep RJD.
If it makes you feel any better, I went to all the concerts and smoked enough weed at them to drop an elephant!!! So I and the other MetalHeads were celebrating for the future burners! Thank God for CZcams, and it makes my heart glad that someone who 'wasn't alive for the 80's' is listening to Dio!!!! ROCK ON!!!!
Think about all the songs that are part of the soundtrack to your life that Ronnie sang on...a true talent and awesome guy. RIP Dio, you will never be forgotten.
He became tired of the control Dio had over the band. As a guitarist, he wanted to contribute but Dio was the boss. He then went to Whitesnake but didn't get along with Coverdale and left after the '87-'88 tour. He then started his own side project but after Steve Calrk died, got the call to join Def Leppard. He's been there since '91. People don't respect that he loves blues music above all, his solo album playing blues is great. Vivian is awesome, always has been.
I saw Heaven and Hell/ Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio last summer in Maryland and what a show! I missed the oppurtunity to see them in 83 on the Mob Rules tour so this was great. Best concert I had ever seen, or at least since Ronnie on the Sacred Heart tour with Viv on New Years Eve 85/86 with Yngwie opening up! Also got to see Iron Maiden in 83 and 85 on the Piece of Mind and also the Power Slave tours. Those were some great years and concerts. Deep Purple on their Reunion in 85 was great
un dia como hoy fallece una gran leyenda del heavy metal aunque ya no este, pero su musica y su historia vivira en los corazones metaleros aguante Ronnie James Dio!!! (1942-2010)
Dio isn't death as long as we remember him like he was. a great singer and guitarist. He rock! and so do we! don't let him die in our hearts and souls!
R.I.P. RHONNY JAMES DIO you rock hard and I'm pretty sure your rockin in HEAVEN May God Bless You WE ROCK cuz I am a Rocker with long hair and still keepin it rockin like the old decades ROCK ON a True Legend METAL WILL NEVER DIE....
I'm so pissed that Dio's gone, one of the greatest voices in metal. I'm glad to have seen him in Denver back in '03. What really struck me was how much he smiled during his whole show. I thought it was kinda funny for a metal show, smiling constantly and throwing devil horns, lol. You could tell that he loved what he was doing and was having a good time. Dio is truly a metal God now.
So i'm guessing the message behind this song is that despite all the obstacles and such in life..Dio and his band bravely forge on by letting us, the fans know that they do indeed rock.
Recently he released a blues album featuring several blues musicians. He is a new person. The guy with the amazing riffs and solos and with the Charvell, has died in 1985
Descanse en paz.. Un chaval que te lleva siempre dentro.. IronSnake.. Desde toledo.. ! Larga Vida al Rock y al Buen heavy que nos daba.. Arriba esos Cuernos \m/
