Looks like a good read! I love urban sketching but always struggle with the whole "going on location" in terms of using watercolour 😭 alot of the time i end up doing the sketches then taking a photo and adding colour when get back inside
Sounds like a fine method to me. I live in Iceland, and my ambition is to go out more for plein air work. But the climate large parts of the year is not very inviting for sitting still outside lengths of time (not to mention freezing paint water...).

I like this book, but does it tell you how to sketch in the rain and snow? How to set up some shade, like an umbrella.
It doesn't. Anyway, to mix colours for shade, try using a limited colour palette for your whole painting. That way when mixing shadows, you can only use the three colours. Not much to think except vary the proportions of paint

They did ask me but I did not want to do it. It's too time consuming for me. I prefer to just make art videos.
