It's been 9 years...and this song and mv lives in my head. Not only is it so nice to hear, esp because of the bass, but the video is flawless. I love it when directors choose to portray our Indic culture in movies, instead of copying from the West trying to be "cool". Deepika and Ranveer worked so hard... those are some painful moves but their energy matches each other well, and not to mention, they're both HAWT 😍😂 Such an awesome song.
I'm SOOO glad Kareena rejected this film, Deepika is perfect as the Gujju Juliet.

Leela is my favourite "Juliet" from any Romeo and Juliet adaptation. Just watched this movie and I love her strength, assurance, flirty attitude with Ram, she has such a strong and good personnality.
the choreography in this one is just mind blowing! I don't mean just the dance moves but everything! the part where they flirt at the beginning and how their moves seem to be synced beautifully with the music.. or the part where they dance and he stops dancing and she bumps into him just in time of the clap and so them bumping into each other happens at the exact time of the clap sound... oh my.. don't ask how many times I watched this video, but you can't blame cos its just so visually captivating

I'm reposting this comment cause it's gold for us foreigners: It's hard to read between the lines if you're not Indian yourself.....so essentially when ranveer showed that he would put powder on his forehead he meant that he would do the same to deepika which in Indian culture means that he would marry her, he then proceeded to put powder on his mouth, which triggered her to change her expression because it meant that not only will he make her his wife but he'll also kiss her.....and she responded to that very bravely as she did the kiss herself. I hope I explained properly this wordless exchange between the characters.

This is more like daring to each other but many expressions are mixed here. It all started from 1:02 , she dares him to play holi with her, he accepts it , 1:16 then she dares him how far you can go , he responds by saying he can marry her and ask about her opinion, she gives priceless expression that you don't have that much courage. 1:29 Then he dares her to come other side and kiss him but she kisses him right there.
I think "dare" is more stronger word to describe this scenario
EVERYTHING about this video is perfect. The music, singing, dancing, choreography, set, costumes, LIGHTING, continuity of the dance/music/film sequences. American here, been enjoying this since the beginning and it NEVER gets old. SLB is genius.

This dance form is a traditional folk dance called Garba which is from the state of Gujarat. You can watch Garba tutorials online. There are channels. Beginners struggle especially with the jumps. But then after some practice they are able to do it
