Took a while for me to realise this was a Beatles song years and years ago. "Well you may be a lover, but you ain't no fuckin' dancer! So look out". You're always at the top Siouxsie. I saw this live.......
I had the great fortune of seeing her open up for David Bowie on the glass spider tour in anahiem california, way back in the day...one of the best times of my life! Years later i got to meet her after seeing her with The Creatures, she was so nice and stopped to talk to everyone :)
Not saame xperience .in belfast .to me she was a stuck up middle class art student type .love early stuff. But both times i saw her in ulster hall Belfast .she just struck me as a prima donna.our music is better god bless N.ireland punk
@@robbiebanks9182 lol considering she threw an air conditioner through a window in Japan hence a one year ban on performing in that country you could say she has her moments but I've known people who have met her and say she was very friendly. All performers have their moments.
She is absolutely without a doubt one of the best, most original, beautiful singers ever! To this day, people still don't know who she is! It saddens me to death. No one will ever live up to her, she is a legend!
Every time I think she's lost the key, she's really taking the melody into a new shading of the original, all the while maintaining the intensity and the overall feel. And doing it live! It's fucking brilliant!
i saw her live performing this song in Vienna - Austria. Think it was 1989. This was the final song. Perfect. Best band every by far. Musically and lyrically just incomparable. I miss the good 80's where finding and discovering great music was not easy, but when you find it, you will listen to it for the rest of your life. I still listen to SATB until now.
Brings back memories of living in the UK, and - as a huge Beatles fan - relishing the moment that Siouxsie got to No. 1 with her cover of 'Dear Prudence', and telling a friend that when she taunted me with 'this is what Siouxsie has done'. My friend did not realize that 'Dear Prudence' was a Beatles' song. Loved that moment. Like this cover - although I prefer 'Dear Prudence'.
You're exactly right, it's about the punk-rock sensibility, she's not trying out for American Idol! Besides, Siouxsie is widely regarded as one of the greatest female rock artists of the past quarter-century, so BULLOCKS to the critics!
She was a true gift from the gods. We will never hear music like this in our life time. Young people have no idea what they missed in the 80's the greatest music of a generation.
Attended her live show at the Orpheum in Boston MA in 87, front row on the right . With my friend Arthur, for my birthday 🥳🎂 best birthday present for the record 🥳🗣️💯❤️🩹🫡👁️👁️♾️🐦⬛
She is one of those remarkable May 27th Geminis. the breadth of her talent, creativity and boundless energy shall not find an end in this life. Her passion and dedication to her work and her fans has always been an inspiration to me.
I wasborn in the sixties as it goes tosspot and am old enough to remember the Beatles and how middle of the road they were. When you learn a bit about music....get back to me.
Siouxsie scared the rock world with this song and will not ever be forgotten for generations this will always be one her trade mark history making classic's not to be forgotten ever! Where would punk rock be today had it not been for these trendsetters back in the 70's
Definitely. I feel privileged to have been around when punk hit the scene. Saw the Banshees twice in the late 70's and bunked off school the next day because my ears were ringing.
Never mind God save the queen! Thank god siouxsie gave her fans over 20 years while many women have left the music world siouxsie still rocks! Thank You our generation will never forget what you gave to music. Some people will never understand but they did not grow up in the 80's
One of the best long lived goth bands ever. Siouxsie and her style will live on for generations No women could ever clone Siouxsie like so many did to Deborah Harry. Both women pushed for females and never got and the true recognition for it. Long before women were popular in the music world. Siouxsie never sold out. The music gothic and nothing more. Long live Siouxsie!!!!!!
This is by far the best cover version of Helter Skelter..
Abso, utely soiuxsie rocks puunk queen for alltime

I got to see her twice. I thank the god'

@@stephenroldan5107 Goth rock is punk.
God this is amazing, perfect distortion, perfect noise, perfect voice, perfect woman.
I am a huge Beatles fan, but this is the way to do a cover. Don't try to sound like the original, make it your own. Fabulous! LOVE IT!!
God, she was a role model for me all those years ago....
judith watson still is!!! ❤❤❤
Libertylovecat Oh, you are absolutely right-- she will ALWAYS be an inspiration!!!

"Well you may be a lover, but you ain't no fuckin' dancer! So look out".
You're always at the top Siouxsie.

Alexander Kovaleski Quite possibly one of the earliest punk songs.
Great job! She sings this so well, too.
She Carnt dance .

You absolutely do. He was a Banshee twice. This is his second run. The first time was when the Cure were opening for them.
She is absolutely without a doubt one of the best, most original, beautiful singers ever!
To this day, people still don't know who she is! It saddens me to death. No one will ever live up to her, she is a legend!
But WE know who she is, and that's all that matters!!
Nobody doesn't know who she is FFS!
This is seriously the most PUNK. ROCK. THING. EVER!!!!
James Simpson Yes, it is!
One of the best cover ever made
i concur
This one is great!
Not one of the best, but the best!
This is what gets me going in the morning aside from coffee!
I'm a huge Beatles fan. This is my favorite Beatles cover.
Every time I think she's lost the key, she's really taking the melody into a new shading of the original, all the while maintaining the intensity and the overall feel.
And doing it live!
It's fucking brilliant!
All hail the queen.

drutgat2 was no3. But she is covering the song and not trying to sound like a tribute act
The goddess....
This version was gone for a bit.... Glad it's back now...thank you....corporate sponsors, or just a guy who remembers what good music is, ty
