One of the things I like the most about Musk is that he is not one of those "Look what great things I‘ve done" guys. In fact he is encouraging other people out there to do the same things like him.
This man will probably be one of the most influential figures of the 21st century, if not the most historically impactful of our species. Congrats and Godspeed forward, Mr. Musk and all of SpaceX. And thank you, thank you, thank you. So very much.
I'd be honored if some fellow Space-X fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal cover of INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN on my channel in tribute to the legendary TOM PETTY... Mars is only 30 million miles away.
Elon should concentrate in making my electric tesla pick up truck a reality. I don't want to go to space- F that. Sounds cool, but it be terrifying as hell knowing many things can go wrong once you're strapped in that rocket seat.
This man is EVERYTHING that billionaires should be worldwide. He uses his own money to help progress mankind and does it in an exciting and engaging manner. I would up sticks and move to the united states and work for this man and his phenomenal company. There is no other man on this planet that I am in awe of but I hold Elon Musk in the highest of lights. I bet every man and woman who works for Elon has that same mindset too and count their blessings on a daily basis every day they go into work.
Chris Lancaster I sympathize with the point you think you are making, but Buffett actually pledged tens of billions of dollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This will have an immense positive impact on the world. Moreover, Buffett is active in encouraging other rich people to make similar gifts of wealth. See givingpledge.org for more info.
But seriously, no. You can tell from his expressions. He thinks before speaking. Also he does have some nervous ticks, but not a 'speech impediment'. You could presume this is all due to his intelligence though, literally.
This guy is absolutely amazing. Of course he has a team of very dedicated and gifted people working for him, but without his ambitious ideas and the supreme ability to drive people, we would not have anything like SpaceX today.
urcritic Using hyperbole such as "supreme" just makes your statement laughable. So i believe those engineers are just extreme lazy people with no initiative?
"Silly fun things are important." - Elon Musk, 2018 Yes! This man proves his genius with every sentence; I'm lucky just to be alive at the same time as him.
Yes, he is definitely more intelligent. Yes, he is a visionary. But the word "genius" has a sense of exaggeration. Because what he envisioned is really just the use of existing technology and apply reusability to it. The later part of the engineering process is done by a large group of people, which he has a part to play, but not all.
It totally tripped me out when I saw the live shot of the car and the driver with Bowie playing in the background. It is almost like we are not watching reality. Did he really just launch that Tesla into orbit?? WTH!
I'm furious I didn't even know this was happening today. Of course I know the name of the Karshittien baby but didn't know about this. Mainstream media should be ashamed of themselves, this is so awesome
I'm an engineer, and understand perfectly at heart all his doubts and amazement at seeing their creation just work... but if I worked at one of the companies that offer insurance for satellite launches... I'd be adding quite a premium to Falcon Heavy launches. I love how honest he is, but I want SpaceX to survive, and it needs the money for that. Anyways thumbs up for this bunch of great engineers that got us dreaming again!
At 08:30 I point out what is the Brilliance of Elon Musk. "If I can do it then other countries will try.....and that's good. We want a new space race" This is a great example of “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.” ― Harry Truman In a world of patent law and suppression of amazing invention because it challenges the Corp. E Musk says bring it, Have at me sir, and lets see what happens
I feel like at some point he said the same of Tesla, that he was in it to inspire the idea, not purely to make a profit of his own. He WANTS others to take his inspiration and run with it, because the things he is doing are for the betterment of our species as a whole. And he's done it somewhat with Tesla; other car companies are finally starting to look seriously at EVs and how to improve upon them.
I love this guy so much. He knew nothing about rocket science. He reads books to learn. And now here he is. What an inspiration. And the best part is he's doing it to inspire people. Thank you, Elon Musk.
Trump: what have I not done yet, become president. Elon: what have I not done yet, launched a car into space. Branson: what have I not done yet: nope can't think of anything.
Robert Joiner Actually SpaceX is making rockets waaaaaay cheaper, he's saving you tax dollars. It's standard to launch dummy payloads for testflights. Musk just made it more interesting and funny than just launching a block of concrete.
This made me SO happy, I'm sort of welling up, here, but with a huge smile on my face. I'm in awe, sir. Very moving gesture and imagery, as well as a mind-adjusting level of technical accomplishment from the whole team.
Man the future is cool. How great is it that a billionaire is pouring money into space technology... Amazing minds doing amazing things. That simultaneous booster landing was unreal
EugeneHerbsman I’m still excited about it! Absolutely one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m only 33, but I still didn’t think I’d live long enough to see something like this.
Dont worry, you'll be totally able to see the human step on mars land, im only 17 years old and just thinking what ill be able to see at 50 or 60 makes me dreamy
The most invaluable human on the planet today. We have had scientists who have pushed mankind forward, Elon, the first ever real entrepreneur/ engineer to achieve that.
All that money goes to your freedom. If we didn’t have a defense budget Germany would rule all of Europe, more than half the world would be communist and we would still live in fear of the tyrannical govts that we fought for our freedom.
Even if you dont like this guy you gotta applaud what he is doing, changing the game when it comes to solar battery storage and electric cars and space exploration... Those 2 rockets coming back down to earth and landing again at the same time blew me away.
lol what? left to rot? the only thing SpaceX did was built a horizontal integration facility, the rest of the pad is as it ever was. and in the moment you paid taxes that money belongs to the goverment. and SpaceX recieves a lot of money from NASA. in fact, for the first 5 years of its existence, SpaceX's only client was NASA.
Just observing Elon Musk, I can see how much a leader this man is, from him never giving up, Elon doesn’t have NO in his vocabulary and I love that perspective (mindset) 🙏🏽🚀
Elon and all of SpaceX are amazing. Unbelievable feat of human ingenuity. Congrats to all those involved it was definitely an emotional moment seeing the pod open exposing the car with the vibrant blue earth in the background! Incredible!!
People asked for a few years following his untimely death, "Who will be the next Steve Jobs?" Nobody....Steve did his own thing and it was great.....but Elon is for a new generation what Steve was for mine....bravo.....damn - you guys get to go to the stars!!!! Congrats #spacex
Love the fact that the Owner is here, in front of the cameras. Shows so much respect for everything he does. You don't really see this from other company owners.
I love what you represent Elon. People like you are the future of mankind, people who have the desire and the courage to look and venture beyond the horizon.
I saw rockets landing from point A to point B (homing rockets) - if there is a technology to do that, just reverse and you have the technology to land from point B to point A (adding radar is also known military technology). People are jerking off because a private company did this, without noting the fact the company has government background. Elon says nothing is impossible. I'd say that nothing is impossible if you're having a government background/facilities. The question is, how did he get the access to those, as a private person :-)
Elon\SpaceX shouldn’t have to shoulder the design costs on such a tiny budget. They are doing this on a revenue stream of 2 billion a year. We just blew 420 billion on the unnessesary fighter jet F35. These are messed up priorities.
One time it didn't sound like he said falcon heavy... He did, it just sounded like something else. Elon looks beyond tired. I imagine that he is very happy with how everything went, but doesn't have the energy to display that.
What's wrong with 480p, I mean I watch most videos in 360p even if they're available in glorious 4k because I'd kinda feel bad for my wifi to stream unnecessarily large amounts of data all day
Mr. Musk has been awake a long time time today. One of the greatest achievements was the simultaneous firing of 27 engines. No one has tried to do this since the Soviet N-1 with 30 engines back in the 1960s. And there are a number of Firsts besides this one. Either he's very tired or he's quite modest. Those that know him best would be able to say for sure. What a day in Space for mankind!
How is he so humble. This dude is more important to humanity. He just launched a car that can run in space, into Space. With rockets that he can use again. That he made in his company. And still speaks in a way everyone can understand. I have so much respect for Elon. 15:30 I love you dude. Send us to mars
Would have been nice to recover the center stage to examine how it fared with all the stresses and heat exerted on it during launch. Also, sounds like they weren't able to slow it down enough to land properly. That means they still have some work to do to figure out how to land all three stages of Falcon Heavy.
I’m pretty sure they still get data back from the core that they can analyze - hence why Elon said even if the whole thing explodes 20 seconds in it’d still be a success in his books
Congratulations on a successful test. Also nice questions from everyone and great answers. BFR spaceship is capable of SSTO?! That's freaking crazy lol
I just heard that the centre core of Falcon Heavy crashed into the ocean at 300 miles an hour. It was 100 metres away from where it was supposed to land, which was on a remote control barge in the Atlantic
The most important thing is I hope this not only inspires all of the dreamers out there in the world, but I hope it inspires our youth of the world. Never be afraid to dream BIG!👊
"I'm trippin balls" -Elon Musk
We all are.
Jon Belanger On this blessed day
When did he say that?
6:52
His voice turned into Vin Diesal at that moment
"Im trippin' balls here" - Elon Musk (lmfao!)
At what point in video does he say that?
6:50
This goes down in history one of the most famous quotes
One of the things I like the most about Musk is that he is not one of those "Look what great things I‘ve done" guys. In fact he is encouraging other people out there to do the same things like him.
Bas Ti ur absolutely right. Im one of them
This man will probably be one of the most influential figures of the 21st century, if not the most historically impactful of our species. Congrats and Godspeed forward, Mr. Musk and all of SpaceX. And thank you, thank you, thank you. So very much.
Clayton Aggeles yeah, he deserves it
This brave step will dawn a new space age to mankind. We need heroes like you. Lets stop wars and turn our attention to the progress of mankind.
Too bad that will likely never happen
I'd be honored if some fellow Space-X fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal cover of INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN on my channel in tribute to the legendary TOM PETTY... Mars is only 30 million miles away.
War *is* Progress of Mankind.
‘We like to say peoplekind” Justin Trudeau 🤪
Elon should concentrate in making my electric tesla pick up truck a reality. I don't want to go to space- F that. Sounds cool, but it be terrifying as hell knowing many things can go wrong once you're strapped in that rocket seat.
He's literally the real life Tony Stark, just less cocky.
Robert Joiner you’re so uneducated it’s not even funny
@Robert he already paid back the loan (tax money) with interest. Can't say that much with politicians lol
Robert Joiner at 8 minutes listen closely. "Nobody paid for the FH, it was paid for with internal funds." You are a different kind of special Robert.
There's loads of jobs going too - I've just checked on the Space X website! Seriously thinking about it. Go for it!
KingDoms Kingdom Just imagine if the Koch brothers cared about space
Chris Lancaster I sympathize with the point you think you are making, but Buffett actually pledged tens of billions of dollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This will have an immense positive impact on the world. Moreover, Buffett is active in encouraging other rich people to make similar gifts of wealth. See givingpledge.org for more info.
Yeah, and Bill & Melinda are collecting millions of foreskins with that money. Quite an important thing to do!
"Silly and fun are important.."
-Elon Musk 2018
Its awesome how i sense no arrogance even after everything he's done, he seems very "down to earth".... Very relatable, even though he is a genius.
Metaphix11b He's unreal.
My first thought too. For a genius entrepreneur/engineer/visionary billionaire, he just seems so normal!
The thing is, it's not down to Earth.
Get it
you must know him personally
more like "up to mars" tehehehe
6:52 "I'm trippin balls here" LOL
See that? Notice how Elon pauses, mid speech, quite a lot... He thinks before speaking, very rare to see nowadays among people
Mr. AlmostCertain Yes!
He's an introvert thinker
Mr. AlmostCertain he has a speech impediment lol
Callum Scott, which is due to his genius intelligence ;)
But seriously, no. You can tell from his expressions. He thinks before speaking. Also he does have some nervous ticks, but not a 'speech impediment'. You could presume this is all due to his intelligence though, literally.
This guy just shamed entire nations. Congratulations to the entire Falcon Heavy team, well done!
he shamed NASA too
This guy is absolutely amazing. Of course he has a team of very dedicated and gifted people working for him, but without his ambitious ideas and the supreme ability to drive people, we would not have anything like SpaceX today.
urcritic You mean without his money. von Braun is the reason we even have a space station. SpaceX is just using von Braun’s blueprints.
Arturo Garza you couldn't be more off here
urcritic Using hyperbole such as "supreme" just makes your statement laughable. So i believe those engineers are just extreme lazy people with no initiative?
Elon gives me hope in humanity.. We need more "Elon Musk's" in the world.
D G not gonna happen he’s one of a kind a gift from above
Musks. Otherwise perfect formulation of my thoughts.
Sorry. They're all being medicated.
"Silly fun things are important." - Elon Musk, 2018
Yes! This man proves his genius with every sentence; I'm lucky just to be alive at the same time as him.
Cyanide Lollipop Absolutely!
Totally, these silly fun things will inspire the next generation of engineers/scientists and big thinkers
He looks so tired. He's really burning the candle at both ends. Hopefully he takes care of himself
It's so refreshing to get a genius that understands how to get people excited about science without sounding preachy, corny or disingenuous.
We need more billionaires like this man!
Sure... Genius = visionary idea.....
You try to do a fraction of what he's already done. People who don't recognize his intelligence are either stupid or jealous.
WTH!
not just orbit MARS the next burn is said to been happening soon
I got a strange feeling also. . . so surreal eh.
Made me cry like a little boy getting that special gift for Christmas!
I'm furious I didn't even know this was happening today. Of course I know the name of the Karshittien baby but didn't know about this. Mainstream media should be ashamed of themselves, this is so awesome
I agree treacey i missed the live launch but i watched the video which is good enough i guess
This man is changing the world, support him
just look at him.. even after such success of falcon he seems to be soo simple and humble. who on earth can be like this except elon. love you elon
Riya Mondal Yes!
@runner winner That's the thing... he can't possibly belong to this planet haha
The real Iron Man!
El Pimpin they are both actors 🤨
Isrealhopkins Lmao because it's true ;)
*star man
where is your proof? Don't say things if you can't back them up.
El Pimpin what’s funny is that Iron man is an ENTP and Elon Musk is an INTJ... an ENTP’s shadow type
Today's event should have been broadcast live on every television station.
Gary McAleer if I wanted to see cgi I would go to the movies
CGI you fool? The best CGI doesn't look that real. We're not there yet.
Gary McAleer Why? They wasted money sending a car to Mars.
Mackeroth Haha...triggered!
Mackeroth It sounds more to me like you got a hard on for Elon.
The tesla was Elons gift to the aliens, hopefully they return the favour with their technology haha
Hope they don't send us some Eggs.
6:53 "I'm tripping balls here" - Elon Musk
LMAO
Lol
"You can tell it's real because it looks so fake. We'd have way better CGI if it was fake." - Elon
Classic doublethink.
If it wasnt coming from elon id say reverse pshycology i know he will pull through tho
Mike check your definitions....that's not doublethink (unless I don't get what you mean...)
If he says it's real im on board. I wish this could be said for all.
Its cgi
send the tesla semi in the BFR?
Drive a Tesla on the Moon
I vote for the first F1 stage to return to landing site :P
eastern_BANDIT YES!
They could with that cargo capacity, if not 3.
I thought they should throw a 747 into orbit but it's 30 megagrams to heavy.
This is the Apollo Missions of my era thank you Elon, I’ll be designing those with you sometime
Why isn’t this viral ???!??
iZi Ozy too much science
people from the future will look back at videos like this and witness the man that powered us into the stars. literaly.
Deathwish026 yeah I doubt it. We won’t last long
DarkVoid little faith ye have.

16:00 After trolling the whole world, Musk turns to trolling aliens. XD
Trump: what have I not done yet, become president. Elon: what have I not done yet, launched a car into space. Branson: what have I not done yet: nope can't think of anything.
Jonathan Neufeld Uh ho, we might be in trouble. I'm afraid of what kind of trolling an advanced spacefaring civilization could pull off.
CERN--- "We ARE trolling aliens. We're opening portholes to other dimensions, we cant control them- but we're hiring" CEO
SpaceX is private company, they are not use your taxes.
Debra Chase I have the same feels.
After the event I was not able to do anything else. I was like a dream. I believe we entering a new age!
Debra Chase Technological accomplishment? CGI and a greenscreen? Space is fake, the earth is flat

The most invaluable human on the planet today. We have had scientists who have pushed mankind forward, Elon, the first ever real entrepreneur/ engineer to achieve that.
prateek srivastava The 21st Century Steve jobs of space travel.
Buddy Steve Jobs was only in one area , consumer electronics , elon ran paypal , tesla , boring and spacex each of them in a different area.
Llewellyn Haye Steve Jobs wanted money. Thats all
Howard Hughes was a real entrepreneur/engineer as well, but i prefer Elon ;)
actually a lot of people are working to make the planet a better place
You are my hero Elon! You give hope for better future.
fk off bot..
Philosoraptor ???
Somebody doesn't agree with me, THEY MUST BE A BOT!!! pathetic
Janne Rahkamaa what hope are you talking about? Moron
Brylle Angelo Dungca That we can leave this planet and let you kind of dumpfucks behind.
Imagine if humans used the time, money, and resources they do for war for something positive.
Imagine if all the billionaires thought like this...I could be chilling on the moon right now drinking mojitos! lol
Then the war mongers wouldn't get paid!
@Justin D Right!... Fuckum!
The Manhattan project.
All that money goes to your freedom. If we didn’t have a defense budget Germany would rule all of Europe, more than half the world would be communist and we would still live in fear of the tyrannical govts that we fought for our freedom.
The amount of people that don't understand "I don't want to go off-topic" is too damm high
this guy is incredibly focused on his goals. and he is brilliant
i love this guy - his sense of purpose and humor is so well balanced!
Are his hands stained with grease? I may have a new respect for this guy.
hand to hand combat That's a deal breaker for me. Are his hands on the tools or is he a cookie cutter
Even if you dont like this guy you gotta applaud what he is doing, changing the game when it comes to solar battery storage and electric cars and space exploration... Those 2 rockets coming back down to earth and landing again at the same time blew me away.
Wow everything works way more efficiently when the government isn’t involved.
DiscGolfer93 that's because the goverment is all about being not efficient! haha
Lol the government is one of the main financers of SpaceX, without mentioning that the whole infrastructure used by SpaceX belongs to the government.
SpaceX had to rebuild that infrastructure since it had been left to rot. The govt doesn't have any money. That came from taxes.
lol what? left to rot? the only thing SpaceX did was built a horizontal integration facility, the rest of the pad is as it ever was. and in the moment you paid taxes that money belongs to the goverment. and SpaceX recieves a lot of money from NASA. in fact, for the first 5 years of its existence, SpaceX's only client was NASA.
Not to mention the technology is still classified as weapons tech and can only be worked on by US citizens. The Government owns the tech basically.
This is a man operating on 2 hours sleep, from last monday. What a brilliant man, and his team. Fantastic.
makes sense at first i thought he was drunk
He should get more sleep, we don’t want him prematurely dead like Steve Job!
2:09 "crazy things can come true" quote of the year surely lol
Just observing Elon Musk, I can see how much a leader this man is, from him never giving up, Elon doesn’t have NO in his vocabulary and I love that perspective (mindset) 🙏🏽🚀
He turned a NO into a success: It was the Russians refusing to sell him a rocket that lead to founding of SpaceX
Elon is the man.
He seriously inspires me. He makes me want to work harder in the future
Jay M. Me too
Good! I hope your life efforts will benefit humanity in some way

He was so excited to ask a question... it was like he had an erection.
Xibalba Barca Wouldn't you? The Falcon Heavy is the mother of all erections.
it's like there was a bet going round the office on if he'd have the balls to say that on air :D

I have a total man-crush on Elon. He's brilliant, honest, funny, and extremely handsome.

Johnny Pope The guy can barely form a sentence and he's supposedly a genius? Looks more like a space dope to me.
Do you want to push his poo in
Stephen Hawking wants a talk with you...
Johnny Pope I feel ya man...
The earth looked spherical in the Falcon videos.
Herman A that’s because it is
"Thats because the lense is fisheye"-All Flat earthers
Zach Rohrbeck earth is very much round. mars on the other hand...
Who’s paying you?
Zach so i guess fish eye lenses are just 1 more thing flat earthers are failing to understand.
One time it didn't sound like he said falcon heavy... He did, it just sounded like something else.
Elon looks beyond tired. I imagine that he is very happy with how everything went, but doesn't have the energy to display that.
We just launched a damn Tesla into space but we still watch CZcams videos at 480p?!?!?
What's wrong with 480p, I mean I watch most videos in 360p even if they're available in glorious 4k because I'd kinda feel bad for my wifi to stream unnecessarily large amounts of data all day
Another nail in the coffin for cynics everywhere. Congratulations Elon!!
Nah idiots will stay ignorant whatever you do.

I love how the CEO of a commercial space company describes a particular set of titanium grip fins as “sweet”.
You can see the sadness in his face about the central core. (Not hating)
officialxrazy he learn from mistakes ,he will surely get it fixed i think.
Central core fail is standard procedure of any current rocket. Ended at bottom of ocean, bar has been raised.

2018 and we have this video quality by local TV
Would have been nice to recover the center stage to examine how it fared with all the stresses and heat exerted on it during launch. Also, sounds like they weren't able to slow it down enough to land properly. That means they still have some work to do to figure out how to land all three stages of Falcon Heavy.
Brian Bagnall They were only able to reignite one engine out of many, so it was unable to slow itself before hitting the sea.
"it's still trippin me out. I'm tripping balls here." We love what you do Elon. Rock forever
These flying Fa'con Heavies are fahkin' incredible.
"Silly, fun things are important." -Elon Musk
Who am I to argue?

messi kobor A fine example of a Freudian Slip if I ever heard one. XD
wait. the starman live was real? wtf lol
lol
I just heard that the centre core of Falcon Heavy crashed into the ocean at 300 miles an hour. It was 100 metres away from where it was supposed to land, which was on a remote control barge in the Atlantic
Suggestion: put a Falcon 9 inside the BFR testflight. With a Tesla Roadstar in it. Wit a miniature Roadstar in it.
*thank* *you* *engineers!*
Thank you, Elon!
thx Kurt
looks like Elon has been working out
Nikos V didn’t Sergei brin work out as well ?
Getting prepared to fight the aliens hand to hand
The most important thing is I hope this not only inspires all of the dreamers out there in the world, but I hope it inspires our youth of the world. Never be afraid to dream BIG!👊
The guy who launches stuff to space is so down to earth
