    I really love this one. It’s unique, with great color variations and changes. Yet It looks loose and balanced. It reminds me of the style of Charles Reid. Very unique style, well done

    Connie Henrickson, That brush, I am almost sure is a Alvaro Castagnet Neef 4400.
    These brushes are absolutely fantastic and seem to be a combination Mop and rigger brush.
    From memory they come in No 6.8 and 10

    Chris, I have a lot of brushes but really could use that “needle point” brush. Can’t find it. I’m a long time watercolor painter but still learning after thirty years. 😂 l really like your style and technique, it’s my kind of painting. Your so generous to share what you know. I would have killed to have some one like you teach me, but back then there was no internet. At least not for me.

    Lovely seascape. These are some of my favorites in watercolor. Thanks for the tips. What do you think about sketching with a watercolor pencil such as a french grey and then the lines won't be visible in the finished painting?

      Barbara Lassiter YOU ARE RIGHT ON! I USE A LIGHT LAVENDER WC Pencil and a light Grey. Works well for my scribble style of sketching my shapes and lines!

      Hi Teri, answers to question 1- Winsor & Newton W/C paints, they are the best looking and highest quality paints out there and they have most of my colors in the large tubes 37ml. Answer to question 2- I have a subscription to "Epidemic Sound" which allows me to use any of their music on their website for CZcams videos. They have great music there for very affordable pricing.     This is a nice picture and so were the ones in the into. About how many colors do you use per painting?

      Hi Pam, thanks for the kind word's,....that is nice of you. I usually use all my colors or about 75% of them each painting for the most part. Check out my video "my palette by chris petri". Occasionally I use a more limited palette so that might shrink it down to 50% of my colors. Thanks for the insightful questions Pam, I hope your paintings are going well! :0)

    Thank you for a great demo ! I struggle with greens ..am using a brand of artist colours called Camlin and whatever I mix looks either too artificial , chalky or muddy ! Has to be me doing the wrong things I think , rather than the colours .

      Virtually all green colors out of the tube looks too artificial, certainly nothing you would find in nature. Try mixing in a bit of orange or maybe a little purple to help neutralize the green color. When in doubt, check the color wheel ....hope this helps!

      I use a music company called Epidemic Sound for my CZcams videos,... I have created a playlist of 100 or so favorite songs, not sure who the band is but the song is ( I need a change ),.... I believe they hire their own studio musicians to create a lot of the music. It may be only available at Epidemic Sound.

    Hi Chris,I like the nice intro you have in the video to build up the suspense. I noticed you have background music playing. You may want to research if this is copyrighted or not as YT is pulling videos for this. I like how you have the paints next to the painting to really understand how to mix the watercolor medium correctly and mentioning how you need to preserve the white.
