sonny boy is definitely the anime that nobody talks about when it airs but suddenly after a decade becomes the legendary anime of all time
I mean, it's kinda popular just not a mainstream one.
I hope that happens before a decade cuz it rly deserves attention.

I just finished Sonny Boy, although I thought about dropping it and not finishing it I’m glad I stuck with it and watched it all the way to the end b/c it was worth it. A great slightly sad but hopeful ending.

I remember watching Sonny Boy during its weekly release. I love this show.
The song was played on the show in the scene I envisioned it to be, but d*mn, now this songs will resonate inside me for a while. Such a shame, there’s no legal copy of it in spotify as I’ll keep playing it for a while.
In fact, most of the songs in this show are gold mine. This is an OST show, and it’s the best one on my list this year.

I think I really never seen anything like it to be honest in over 2 decades.
I wish the director would make another anime in the same vibe but I kinda doubt due to the financial risk. I read he's reviving another series he made in 2010 called The Tatami Galaxy, new one will be called Yojouhan Time Machine Blues and now that I mention it I think Im gonna give it a try cuz I did give the trailer a look before wasn't compelled to try it the first time.

Seriously. I've never seen anything like it. There are a lot of animes that use quantum theory, time travelling and all but no one has been able to do the storytelling in _this_ way while keeping fantasy as well as sci fi elements along with such deep philosophy _and_ then present it in such a confusing yet cohesive way. It's just mind blowing.
I see. I love the soundtrack of Tatami Galaxy and I've been meaning to see it. I didn't know of the new trailer. It'll surely be a visual treat, at least. It's such a relief that producers are still taking risks to release these kinds of abstract animes away from the mainstream generic kind
