I hope you realize i am just as hyped for Glitchtale as i am for Deltarune by Toby Fox. That means you and Toby are on the same level to me. Glitchtale is officially my first or at least second favorite anime ever! (If it were considered an anime lol) keep being awesome! And take care of yourself!

But instead of stick figures (which were animated very well even before) it will all unique and fully drawn characters most likely in the Style of Glitchtale. So im pretty excited for that.

This song encompases the rage of a father...the sadness of a lost friend....and the absolute HATE of someone who had their happiness torn away.
You can hear in the buildup his sadness.....which spills over into anger.....then rage....then hate...and finally....the determination to do whatever it takes.
Gaster is a father, a freind...but most importantly he is a scientist. And when a scientist encounters a failed experiment......or a problem that can challenge their intellect.....
They are DETERMINED to solve or rectify that.

@The Guy in the Frontpack You mean Chroma magic. Polychromatism is a specific attack that’s basically drawing out the full extent of Chroma magic. Gaster’s Polychromatism in particular has him summon 7 small hands, 2 giant hands, and 1 enormous Gaster Blaster.

@@nikitin_gs Maybe, but I’m pretty sure Camila said at one point that the ancient texts that said Fear could only be beaten by Determination were wrong. So someone like Asgore would be able to kill her (though unlikely). I think more specifically, Betty has a weakness to Determination. Kind of like Pokémon. You’d want to fight a Charizard with a rock type, but you still can defeat it with a normal type.

This soundtrack is the true definition of the "So, you have chosen death" line.
After losing important people in his life from Betty Noire's wrath, Gaster turned into the monster his father Roman wanted him to be, a monster so powerful, that even fear itself feared him.
He was tired of seeing the ones he loved and cared for perish while he couldn't do anything to save them. He unleashed a version of himself he hadn't been using for a very long time and became the most powerful character of the entire series in the process.
He could've finished Betty and HATE all together for good in that fight however that would risk taking his own life and Papyrus's too. Papyrus made the right choice by stopping Gaster from what he's doing otherwise they would both get killed and let Asriel and Chara finish what was left of Betty Noire, HATE instead.

One who no longer has anything to lose, no longer needs to hold back. All or nothing. No risk, high reward. The higher their potential, the more dangerous they are. Once they no longer have anything to lose... they have no need to hold back. Every bit of potential they have will be suddenly unleashed into fully grown power. In this case, it's the best matchup possibly. Their enemy is a hundred times more potential than they do, yet they have unlocked almost none of it. It may seem as if Gaster can still lose his life... but to him, his own life means *_nothing._* Papyrus will die anyways without him to protect him. Betty however, still values their own life. They refused to let their options be cut off like the others. They refused to be pushed to the limit with no escape. They refused to forget what they had and put everything into defeating the enemy. They refused to *_grow,_* and that is why they lost to a being with a hundred times less potential than they themselves. They made the same mistake as Frisk. They tried to force out their potential by relentlessly increasing it. LV does not increase stats, only HP. Frisk forced out their determination, attempted caused their potential to grow... but they already had limitless potential, and had released none of it. They went the wrong way, they didn't unleash their power. Their potential remains unused. And now, that limitless power will lay forever dormant, as now Chara is the one to unleash it. Betty too, has lost their chance. They had so many souls. Chara would've been the only one capable of stopping them. Yet just like Frisk, they were looking the wrong way. If they had unlocked their potential Chara might very well have died before they unlocked theirs. But the HATE has been released. HATE is not human. They have nothing to lose. Their only purpose is to destroy. But Chara has grown more powerful, their potential is beginning to release. Now we just have to wait for it to finally break, for Chara to be pushed again to the limit... and then it will happen. They were already on the verge. They were able to control their HATE. Their determination began to take a fluid, changeable shape. Moldable, flexible, unbreakable, and powerful.

Well Love does increase power in the Glitchtale verse, as LV 20 has the power to destroy the entire world. So I kinda disagree with the Frisk portion. In that moment when he saw Asriel die he knew it was over there was no one left to save and he would *kill* Betty once and for all. Betty would have most definitely died there, if he didn't witness Papyrus actually being able to save Sans who he thought was long gone and was ready to kill him and Betty. but everything else in this I love. If you check the power scaling LV 19 Frisk is stronger than Betty as he sits in Low B tier and Betty resides in High C tier.

You know, if you think about it, Gaster’s character arch is pretty easy to see through. This thing Betty at the beginning was an enigma. It was not normal. Then he finds out that it’s deadly, but it’s too late. Sans is already dead. So Gaster fought Bête Noire. And he almost won. This shows Gaster was strong enough to kill Betty. Then after he was almost killed by Betty, Jessica and Alohys save him. This can only mean Camila wanted him alive for something. After that, he keeps finding reasons to hate Jessica, so Papyrus has to step in and tell Gaster to give her a chance. So he gives it a try. But then Betty’s chaos knocks a building on top of Gaster and Jessica. With little hope remaining, Jess gave Gaster the teleporter. Another example of Cami wanting Gaster alive. So Gaster had Sans and Jessica dead. This would drive even the kindest pacifist crazy. Gaster knows very well Sans won’t make it. He would lose Sans twice to the hands of Betty. Gaster had to be the one to kill Betty. There was no other possible way. It had to be Gaster. He had to be Gaster. He’s strong enough to kill Betty, Cami wanted him alive, and Betty took everything from him. There was no other outcome. It had to be Gaster. Mic drop.
season 1: okay that is sad

My predictions:
Vain #1 will most likely be Gaster realising Sans is awake.
Family #2 will most likely be Sans and Papyrus meeting up with Gaster.

Ascension #4 could be Gaster stepping up to fight Betty one more time, fuelled by Sans death.
Epilogue #5 will either be Papyrus sacrificing himself for Gaster or Gaster will die protecting people or Papyrus in particular.
Next episode sounds very, very, interesting.

This is has got to be one of the most intense versions of Gaster’s theme I have ever heard. You really captured the heat of the battle, and showed just how angry and determined he is right now. All in all, incredible job! I can’t wait to hear this in play in the next episode.

Gaster lost sans, went batshit crazy on Betty only to get stabbed and lose his teleportation, and he gets sans back only to find out that he's already dead, then he goes crazy because of sleep deprivation and tries to cure sans only to make his condition worse, ensuring sans dies in an even worse way, and then he loses someone who he finally atleast tried to make amends with.
Yeah, I can see why he's beyond pissed now. He's completely awake (both figuratively and literally) and he has barely anything holding him back.

It's been 4 years and I'm now spontaneously compelled to gush over this track. Specifically, I'm compelled to gush over mainly the 2nd half, but I'll touch on some parts elsewhere when they come up.
One of my favorite things about this track is its use of existing leitmotifs, as well as new ones. The most prominent returning leitmotifs are Megalovania, Gaster's theme, and most interestingly, Gaster's Finale. That last one is the song that played during Gaster's first fight with Betty, playing near the end when she takes control of his Gaster Blasters. It's a moment that scars Gaster, and the leitmotif from that track permeates almost uninterrupted from the moment she takes control of Sans' Gaster Blasters to the end of the track. It represents the anxiety and pure fear Gaster feels seeing the attack that immediately nearly killed him in their first fight, as well as his guilt for having failed to kill Betty in their first fight. And now it's being used against Sans, whom he's already lost to her before and still isn't ready to see die again.
And then the Family section ends, and Eternal Rest begins. The music stops, you see Sans fade away, his soul shattering to dust, then nothing. For a few seconds, the song is frozen in time, as Gaster is in disbelief, before a quiet piano pierces the silence, accompanied by a soft choral version of the Gaster's Finale motif, as Gaster's mind flashes through what led to this moment. You can even hear a slow heartbeat play during this portion. He dwells on his previous defeat at Betty's hands, where he failed to avenge his son's death, then on his initial failure to bring his son back, leading up to now, where he failed to keep his son alive...again. And it was all the fault of this girl...no, this creature that now stands smugly in front of him. This THING that had the audacity to take his son from him TWICE.
Eternal Rest ends, and Ascension begins, as his sorrow suddenly switches to rage. And this is where the song also ascends to a new level. The music that plays here is pure, boiling, seething rage and hate incarnate, just barely keeping its composure as an unstable guitar slowly and carefully accompanies the deep, building baseline, as if it would suddenly break down if it played any faster. And that's exactly how Gaster feels. He walks slowly towards the thing in front of him and gives it just one word: COME. It doesn't deserve any more breath than that.
Then, the choir that played in the intro returns. This motif is the musical representation of the fear Betty tries to instill in her victims, her main method of defeating her enemies. Here, she's trying to do the same to Gaster, but it doesn't last. Gaster is entirely unfazed. The melody switches to Gaster's Finale, the thing she KNOWS Gaster fears, but all throughout, that quiet, rageful baseline keeps playing, unbothered by the change of melody. Gaster's Finale keeps trying to instill fear, as if Betty is desperately trying to convince him, and herself, that she has a chance, that what's happening is still a fight, but Gaster knows it isn't. The fight ended 2 minutes ago. Only the kill remains now. And then you hear a hint of a new motif, a strong electric melody that I can only rightly name Gaster's Wrath. It accompanies Gaster's Finale for a few seconds, but before long, it explodes with the force of a hydrogen bomb, COMPLETELY taking over the entire melody. Gaster is no longer maintaining his composure; finally, he unleashes all his hatred at the pathetic thing in front of him. He begins ripping it to shreds, showing absolutely no mercy, holding nothing back. He wouldn't let this thing live a second time. The Gaster's Wrath motif tapers out, but the rage is still there, as if even the music hasn't realized that the fight is already over, before Papyrus finally yells out for him to stop. And he does, as does the music. And from the silence, a softer piano variation of Gaster's Finale plays, as he finally feels like he's atoned for his failures, and he collapses.
And then the last part of the song which unfortunately isn't included in this video but I'll talk about it anyway. The hatred that was housed inside Betty reveals itself, the music suddenly builds again, and that familiar Gaster's Finale motif once again screeches at you, but somehow more unhinged, more inhuman, as if the entity playing it is simply following the motions of the original. And then the most beautifully insulting part of the song begins. It starts playing Gaster's Wrath again, but in that same high pitched, inhuman screech, as if the Hate absorbed Gaster's rage and hatred and is now spitefully spitting it back at him. And my theory is that this is literally what happened, as when the battle with Hate begins, it uses multicolored attacks that are reminiscent to Gaster's attacks, before eventually switching to a fighting style similar to Frisk's, who was the original source of the Hate. If that's the case, that would mean Gaster felt Hate towards Betty that was comparable to GENOCIDE FRISK. Gaster was lucky to be unconscious for this part, as I don't know if his psyche could've handled seeing the Hate spitting his own attacks back at him. God, what an insane track.

You're just giving them more reasons to kill you, and fewer reasons to hold back.
Well, actually it can work for Betty. She uses brute force instead of planned strategy with her attacks, so anything that prevent her enemies from thinking straight is good for her (even if there is the drawback you described).
In her first battle she was not losing to Gaster's brute force, she was losing precisely because Gaster was fighting defensively and analyzing how she fights to then come up with a combo to defeat her with his full strength.
Unfortunately for her though, having Gaster who no longer thinks is not a good strategy for her anymore, because unlike in their first 1v1 Gaster now remember his time in the void seeing all timelines at once and have all the strategy experience that comes with it, so he was able to use both the most effective and cost-effective strategy to counter each of her moves even the moves he never saw yet. He didn't even needed to move from where he was standing. (though I agree, it would have been very difficult to win for her even if he was just using brute force since he is quite strong at that point).
Anyway, how limited Betty is about battle strategy is really one of her biggest weakness. I mean, with just one thing done differently she would have probably won (basically, if she had not used all the Gaster blasters against Sans but instead attacked all three with a third of them each) and that would still have been a move that doesn't rely on much strategy.
@@para9938 It's actually even easier. Betty had WAY higher odds of winning than the 3 of them together. If she focused on Gaster from the start, he would've been knocked out, Sans would die the same way (melting down) and Papyrus would be emotionally and mentally broken (+ he doesn't have battle experience, so even if he went Super Saiyan she could just run, wouldn't be hard for her to trick him specifically) so, basically, Betty losing was her own fault for playing stupid and underestimating Gaster.
@@IBM-5100 True. That and attacking right away would have helped. She likes to show the terrifying view of your magic turning against yourself before actually using it. And then she consider a shocked enemy as an already defeated one.
If she had still attacked Sans like we saw, but then attacked him a second time instead of attacking Papyrus and unconscious Gaster, he wouldn't have broken free in time, or even if he did he wouldn't have used so much of his power to guard against the attack unlike when he is protecting both Gaster and Papyrus, so Sans would be dead and Betty in the worse case scenario would still have the control of some Gaster blasters (if not all) and would not have been knocked away letting time to Gaster and Papyrus to recover from the shock (or for Gaster to have his crisis).
It is true that attacking the three of them at once isn't the best, however Sans is shocked so is not moving, Gaster is desperate to protect Sans first who would die if even one Gaster blaster touch him, Papyrus can try to protect himself but I doubt he can defend against a third of all those blasters plus he'd still feel like unable to help protect Sans.
So in the end the best way for them to survive would be to have Gaster use a third of his power to protect each of them against the third of Betty's power. But he only have two big hands so can only protect two, and he'd probably protect Sans and Papyrus without protecting himself rather than protecting himself and Sans while trusting Papyrus can protect himself enough. But if he is hit with all those blasters he won't be able to keep protecting the other two.
The real best way to survive against that would be to have Sans free itself of shock and focus all his blasters on Betty, but even if he free himself of shock, he too would rather try to protect than attacking, because having papyrus maybe survive but winning is not worth it, he'd rather protect papyrus for sure and losing afterward.
It is true that focusing on Gaster would be even better. But it can be harder depending on how you do it, Sans may have broken free of his shock immediately if it isn't him but one of the other two being attacked, and Gaster does have enough power to resist one full blast from all those blasters even if it is himself he is protecting and not Sans.
So the best way to go at it but it is even more strategy, is attacking Gaster after moving the blasters behind Sans, some aiming at Sans the others aiming a bit to his left or to his right to hit Gaster.
That way Sans feel targeted so is shocked (even if less than being surrounded), Gaster feel that the one targeted is Sans so protect him not himself, and even if nothing had worked well with Gaster not feeling the need to protect Sans as Sans isn't shocked enough and attempt to dodge, after dodging the full blast would continue on his way attacking Gaster maybe taking him by surprise.
If it works well she kills the two of them in one move.
Worse case scenario for Betty then would be Sans destroying all the blaster to protect Gaster and melting, but even in that scenario, there is a difference compared to the episode : Betty only attacked once with the blasters so used less magic, it'd be less slow to charge rhabdophobia again, and she isn't behind the blasters so is not knocked away with Sans's last attack and can immediately attack the other two after Sans dies.
It is a simple move that is always quite effective (a strategy you can literally use when playing chess).
There is probably even better ways to strategize, we go from the simple to the more complex because Betty sucks at strategizing.
Because we only talked about the blasters so far, but Betty can still attack with her other attacks and following with the blasters, or fight like she did earlier but with blasters constantly attacking left and right here and there.
Without talking about illusions, the biggest strategy element she uses and didn't this time.

It’s official. This is my absolute favourite Glitchtale track.
This is perfect. It fully portrays Gaster’s fury and grief, after his entire life was taken away from him by Bete. He lost his son. He lost Jessica, whom he was just starting to truly care for. His sanity dropped, forcing him to attack the people he loved, and at this point, the entity that caused all of the mayhem in his life is right in front of him.
You can see it in the concept art of this track and the dark aspect of the music itself. Gaster is done holding back. He wants to make sure that he eliminates the Bete Noire. He wants her to burn in hell for eternity. He wants her to die terrified. He wants to be the one to kill her.
To Gaster, killing Bete is the only solution to the destruction of his life. He isn’t planning on holding back anymore. He isn’t going to be fooled. He doesn’t care who has to die, even if it’s his own self. He’s going to get his revenge even if it kills him. It’s the one thing that he has left waiting for him. Something that he wants to come.
It’s going to happen in Animosity. Perhaps the title of the episode refers to Gaster himself. But soon, it’s going to happen. And only one of the two entities will emerge victorious.

Can we just say that Glitchtale has taken such a large turn? In the beginning it started as a cycle, then it turned into a complete story of many characters, including a man at the peak of going all out after losing everything. We’ve seen Undyne’s story of losing Alphys and coping, the Dreemurrs story of their son and Chara with the hate. But this? This was anger, guilt, and the humiliating defeat of a man vs a threat. Gaster went all out and showed he is not just some monster, but that he is the man that speaks in hands. Betty got what she deserved.
