in my case, 20k was enough BUT i didn’t have much budget for treating myself during weekends or go on trips. i also didn’t have extra to pay for insurance and put good amount in savings. 😢 my rent was 5k and i lived 2 hours from work. I managed to fit in emergency fund though and budget for my dog ( i had to have him taken care by someone else while i sorted things out and looked for a pet-friendly place, so his budget was a bit big).
