I was a bully in school. I used to pick on this one kid. He was bigger than me but I didn't care, I was faster than him. One day I pushed him too far and he had enough. He pinned me against the lockers so I couldn't escape. Then with one foul swoop he bit my head off. They had to do a water change on the whole school after that.

JOEY! Since you're draining the tank and redecorating, have you considered "GLUING" a layer of substrate down to the bottom? Of course, with a SAFE PRODUCT for the fish, but then the rays would push back the substrate and reveal the BOTTOM of the tank which would be matching/unnoticeable. I was thinking of the arts and craft technique of a layer of glue covered in glitter. PLEASE let me know what you think!

How incredibly intelligent are freshwater sting rays!!! That's unbelievably precise, targeted behavior, considering that the ray was able to adequately respond to a threat, all the while leaving the "innocent" rainbows alone!!! I've read that rays and larger species of South American cichlids are among the smartest of freshwater fish, such as oscars, wolf cichlids, and other, more aggressive cichlids. To see that happening in your aquarium is just plain awesome.
Joey, your sense of aquascaping aesthetics is absolutey amazing and, when it comes to my taste, spot on. I cannot believe how every single tank of yours combines everything positive: It's minimalistic, yet never boring; it looks organized, yet convincingly natural; it's creative, yet not flamboyant. It really does give me a good idea of how I would like my tank to look like. The discus tank looks especially fantastic, as does the angelfish tank. But my favorite tank might be the rainbow fish tank; I cannot describe just how nice it looks with the wood, the moss on top of it, the sand, and the ever active rainbow fish, constantly moving around happily, never being boring. My question would be: As soon as the ray grows out and can be added to the 2000 gallon, how about adding a school of clown loaches? They are kind of from the same region of the earth (New Guinea and Borneo/Sumatra), they are intelligent, agile, peaceful, have a ton of personality, are long-lived, reactive, quite beautiful, and can actually grow up to 20 inches, while most specimens will reach a size of 15 inches. They would be incredibly happy in this beautiful tank, adding a contrast to the pelagic rainbow fish that are focusing on the surface, while they take care of the bottom. Clown loaches also school together, so it would look stunning. What do you say?

I think it would look very nice to run the wood along the back and make it kinda curve around the tank to where it fills up more on the sides and leaves more surface area in the middle.
