EYO (ADAMU ORISHA) FESTIVAL IN LAGOS

The Eyo Festival, otherwise known as the Adamu Orisa Play is the TRADITIONAL PLAY OF LAGOS. It is a day's festival staged for the Final Burial Obsequies of an Oba or a Chief, and in honor and memory of a Deceased person who had contributed to the progress and Development of Lagos; hence the play is not staged for any less important event.

The Eyo Festival, otherwise known as the Adamu Orisha Play, is a Yoruba festival unique to Lagos, Nigeria. In modern times, it is presented by the people of Lagos as a tourist event and, due to its history, is traditionally performed on Lagos Island.
