In a plot twist, the emperor makes his voice heard across the empire of mankind. He declares Sigismund to be his only child in that he was the one who kept his faith. Thus every Emporors Champion who hears his voice the eve before battle is the embodiment greater than the primarchs, welding the power of the emperor himself. The Black Templar declare the codex chapters heretics in their belief the emperor was just a man. They call the entire chapter together in force, offering the other codex chapters to repent after hearing the Emperors word or continue to follow G-man’s second founding belief. They proclaim G-man believes himself a god greater than the emperor and launch the next great crusade
The Emporer fell victim to his own vanity! He was tricked into over-reaching himself & a deluded dream of a human only Galaxy. Had the Emporer kept to uniting Mankind, he could have avoided the Heresy.
@Paint_at_Dawn I'd have liked to have seen maybe a religious schism in the chapter. That might've made a good storyline. Some okay with the Primaris because the son of the Emperor came back during what may be their darkest hour, thus seeing it in a more positive light versus hardliners.

A bit like Gabriel Seth rejecting them at first, but it’s a shame that none of it means anything and GW aren’t going anywhere with it. Seth was right with what he said, but they write a few lines, Primaris magically fall to the Black Rage, and now he’s 100% fine with them. Black Templars were never originally written as religious fanatics. That seems to be something they introduced after throwing away their original codex and rolling them into the vanilla Space Marine book. The original stuff on them was so much better.
The Archives currently have a backlog of chapters. But this is definitely on the list. The Blood Angels will be releasing from the vault next. Stay tuned.
One strong error here: Only a single small crusade Led by an extreme zealot Chaplain rejected and killed the Primaris and that crusade was wiped out because of their actions, all other indications show the Primaris are accepted and used by them with the inclusion of Grimaldus and Helbrecht crossing the Rubicon themselves.
It’s a shame GW made Helbrecht and Grimaldus heretics so they can continue pushing Primaris. The crusade that wiped out the Primaris marines were only left with 15 Templars after the fight. They then conveniently all died fighting the Word Bearers afterwards. Apart from the Chaplain, he was betrayed by a random neophyte who wanted some Primaris action. Got to love the new lore involving the Primaris rollout. Literally wiping chapters out so they are replaced. Literally making the characters Primaris and then writing, “see, your turn now!”. So dull and boring 🥱
Do the Deathwatch the ones who are the members the inquisition ordo xenos; inquisitor xenos eradicators. they're like astartes special forces. they make up their chapter out of the best astartes from all the chapters. each member bares a mark of their original chapter on their shoulder. "Of a million humans, perhaps one might be a potential Space Marine recruit. Of a thousand potential Space Marine recruits, perhaps one will become an Astartes. Of a hundred Astartes, perhaps one will be chosen to join the Deathwatch."
Damn, in all my reading of the Astartes I must have missed something. So what he's saying the Black Templars numbers are rumored to be much higher than what the original Space Marine legions have put into the field. I briefly read about Sigismund and how he was chosen as the Chapter Master for the Black Templars, but I've never heard about how he's concealed their true size from the Imperium as a whole. The way he described the how the Black Templars are dispersed, they could number more than several hundred individual chapters combined.
Yes, that's correct. In older editions its never mentioned the true numbers, but because everything is dispersed throughout the galaxy (and they're out waging their crusade), the Imperium can't track it's numbers. If they ever truly all came together and united, they'd be much larger than what the Codex dictates each chapter should be!

While 40K lore certainly allows for a wide range of possible representations of Astartes, some of the art felt so wildly variant that it totally threw me out of the video a couple of times. 10:30 is a good example. Neck down: Astartes. Neck up: Militarum?? LoL Even just one or two official depictions of your subject would go a long way.

Canonically, the Man-Emperor wanted SMs to be twenty distinct things. Just not always what he ended up getting.
The emperor's main goal was to erase religion, and the black templar worship the emperor as a god.
