Class 2 course 2 of 4
Welcome to 2019 ZIA scale nationals RC crawling competition!
This is it! This is the cream of the crop of competition RC crawlers! This is the Superbowl of RC scale challenge! This is where you can watch what the best in the business build and how they drive! You will find so many amazing builds and skilled drivers.
I've met so many talented people and made friends there. It was an honor to meet with great names in the field such as John Holmes (Holmes hobbies) , Ben Moren (Toyzuki Fabrication), Ikaika Farrior(The Crawl Space), Scott Cawthon (Vader product), Jose Meza(RC4WD), Christoper schumann (Team Garage Hack). Thank you all for sponsoring this great event and for being just awesome people to hang with!
And of course, I'd like to thank the organizer Joe Perea, Scot Mckee and Christian Hitt from NMRCC for making this event flawless from beginning to the end.
I did miss very beginning ( concourse night ) and last day ( class 3 and reward ) but I had 2 full day of extreme challenge.
If you are into rock crawling, you need to come this annual event. You won't regret it.
I will be uploading the rest of class 2 and class 2 final videos in the future
Thank you all for watching and subscribing. And go enjoy some RC! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Go Ikaika, Hometown warrior over here killin it!
He was killing it. He was in all 3 classes.. phenomenal driver
Love to see these competitions 👍🏻...more please
Thank you! more video is in the pipeline!
Awesome event, some really good driving fellas!
Thanks Stevo. I am learning a lot from watching these guys drive. I try to copy it but alway fail lol
super cool contest, go class 2 :D
Hey you guys do a good job with the video I most say. With having the points and times all on there, and especially no loud music! I can hear you guys talk and the rigs working. It’s benefit also cause I can watch these early or late in the day. Thanks!
Thank you for the comment. I’m glad you liked the video!
Yeah this is super cool, I love it. And wow what a great looking rigs .
Thank you for watching, Andy
winching across the gate markers should not be allowed. the gate marker is supposed to mimic a pole/barrier from the ground up into infinity.
hmm.. good point. I never thought of it that way.. But side winching is hell of fun. Who goes by that winching rule? 1:1 guys?
@@slopppy75 I was just going by SORRCA rules, nothing on the truck is supposed to break the plain of the gate, but watching more of these videos, that is impossible with some of the gate positions you guys were using. your vids are some of the most challenging courses i've seen.
I must express how much I enjoyed this video. Not too many of this kind. No nonsense or irritating music.
Some really skilled drivers and makes me humble, me and my TRX4 Sport...
Please keep these kind of videos coming. +1 subbed.
Thank you Ruud, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Let me know if there is suggestions for improvement. I greatly appreciate your comment.
Very good rock crawling , awesome competition !!
Thank you! 2020 nationals has just been announced! super exciting!
@@slopppy75 😊👍
Just wanted to say appreciate you sharing, this is my passion I love it, wow what some great drivers to. I'll be watching for more
I appreciate it Andy!
Great work on the video, sweet spot to crawl, subbed!
Very nice comp spot!! This was a killer comp to watch definatly the winching gates wefe awesome. Firstn I ever seen that. Nice work with the eye in the sky as well👍👍👍👍🤘
These drivers are so creative when it comes to winching. Also so quick- it happens in seconds where as it takes me minutes haha. Thanks for the comment
Watching this makes me wanna go out and get started on my first crawler
Do it!
What nice terrain!!!!!!!😊😊👍👍👍
It was the best!
Just wanna say thanks for the videos. The camera work, edits, and scoring is awesome and def adds to enjoyment of watching. I appreciate your work!
I appreciate the compliment. It keeps me motivated! Haha
Great video, There are some seriously good wheelin going on here. New Subscriber, really like seeing the comp videos and trying to learn some good crawl techniques. Thanks for getting some great angles so we can see the line choices.
There were a lot of good drivers and creative thinkers at this event. Winching in different angle was what surprised me the most. Time to put some practice on! Haha thanks for your comment.
The next scale nationals event has been announced! March 19-21, 2020 Logandale trails, NV.
I think your vids are what i most look forward to seeing when im on youtube. Amazing comp and rigs, but i feel like some of you should improve on their winching skills :D thank you for the uploads!
I really appreciate that. Winching is really tough. Sometimes very unpredictable depending on terrain and angle of pulling. I'm probably the worst when it comes to winching but I am putting a lot of practice so hopefully will ready for the 2020 nationals!
@@slopppy75 yeah, we winch a lot on our comps so i've gotten kinda good in it by now, and watching how amazing you drive your winching is lacking skill level. Looking forward to your progress tho, and seeing as many vids as possible. :D
great video, would be really cool to get a breakdown of some of the trucks
I will make a build video someday. No plan currently tho. Thank you!
the timer nice touch
Haha thank you for noticing the timer. I am doing whatever I can to improve the video. I always appreciate the input!
I’m glad to see you still had some vids left from ZSN Eric. I remember some of these runs but there were some I didn’t see. I hope to see more! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Matthew! I still have a lot of footage from course 3,4 and final round of class 2. It’s in the pipeline. I wish I had stayed for class3. For 2020 I am planning to play all 3. Gotta start building!!
CRAWLER75 sounds good! I can’t wait to see what you have left from ZSN! I hope to make it to 2020 Scale Nationals in Las Vegas as a driver and not just a spectator. I need to start building as well. ✌🏼
I know it’s an old video but where can I get that metal peace for the tail gate that the purple truck has at around 22:00
Where can I get a body like the crawler in the beginning of the video?
Man Ikaika using that winch through gate 2 was bitchin!
The man knows his stuff and how to use it!
13:34 I noticed was a gate but not called out, im guessing that would be the judges call though
Good eyes! Indeed, some of penalties do go unnoticed unless the judge pays 100% attention at all time. I this case, the video guy failed haha
Does everyone use Hyrax??
Oh I see some swampers lol
as alwayes, an awesome vedio... dear team, i have a query about sorrca point calculation, how can I mail you.
Hi thanks for watching. You can ask question here. I can answer from the best of my knowledge. If you want opinions of SORRCA committee, best way to contact them is to join Facebook group.
Need new stick holder who will keep ahead better/ faster
Seems like gluing a magnet in the bed of the truck to hold the winch hook would be a good idea.
Yes! I know a few guys do magnet trick to hold the hook. It works great! I made my winch run faster so that I could just pull in all the way instead of fiddling with length to be just right to secure the hook in the back. I am going to install magnet tho in order to have extra spot to park the hook.
@@slopppy75 Very Cool! I have been watching all of these videos and Im really ready to go get one!
Daniel Beliles a lot of hooks are made in aluminum alloy and may not stick to the magnet. Make sure you get one in steel. I heard locked up RC sells those
I ended up installing a second magnit on my hood, so I can just through it down after the pull
@@slopppy75 or make a hook outta...a hook lol fishing hook i mean.
What kind of chassis are these guys running? Are they all straight axle trucks
The most popular chassis are Toyzuki's and Game changers. They are similar in design. Toyzuki chassis can be found in various RC shops (they are hard to find) and game changer 4.2 can be found on www.thecrawlspaceco.com
@@slopppy75 whats changing leveling of the truck , theres a servo bringing sus up and down ?
Most guys here run normal shocks and springs. Popular ones are dravtech and traxxas shocks. They are usually setup very low( less preload ) to keep low center of gravity. The most popular axles are scx10.2 stock, or 10.2 housings from SSD or Vanquish product.
What the body of the black won
Where can I find the scale points system?
The best place is www.sorrca.com and reading through the rules. It's all text but is the most current resource. If you want a video, GCMRacing1 have good videos on scale points - some info maybe outdated as the videos are 5 years old. I have a plan to make a video on scale point sometime this year.
@@slopppy75 Thanks! :)
At the 17:47 mark scott's winch touched the gate while not using the winch, just touched when setting up the line. That's a gate huh?
Let’s just say Scott probably lost a few nights of sleep after this lol
CRAWLER75 ha! I bet he is still bitter! Imma bring it up this weekend!
29:16 what tires did he use ?
They look to be Ottsix Voodoo KLR
@@slopppy75 thank's !!
I’d like to see a truck NOT using hyrax tires lol
Tough to beat those
The guys that are talking to him would get on my nerves terribly bad there you go money money so it's money I don't care if it was the judge or not that she can drive me up the wall
The lc70 truck was cut too much. It should not be allowed. It doest look like a real truck anymore
Which truck are you talking about? I don't find LC70 in this video
@@slopppy75 hi! the silver truck. With cut up to half of the side doors
Yeah the truck was aggressively trimmed. All trucks here are built by the rules and some of them are cut more than others. But remember that class 2 is modified class. Performance first. Class 1 has more strict rules to minimize body modifications
@@slopppy75 ok thank you for explaining. I was just shock the way it was trimmed that if scaled up, a driver cant fit inside lol
@@slopppy75 Thank you
