Hi! I've been wanting to use a 12V 700A adapter on my breadboard, but have been nervous that I would end up with a melted mess. It's nice to see your video on this since most videos just plug in an unknown power supply into a breadboard PSU without documenting the voltage and current. Can you tell me if this 12V 2A supply you have used has been satisfactory on your breadboard, since you made this video? Thanks.
PS Good luck with your degree!
Hey Rick sorry I thought I replied. The adapter has been perfect but although it can output 2A rated I wouldn't put a continuous 2A through a breadboard. Probably stick to 1A max. If it's a long term project, like the breadboard carrying 2A for a year or 2, would I assume, fail.

You might be amused by this as an electrical engineer. My father taught mathematics to electrical engineers for years at a Canadian university and when the students went home, Mummy and Daddy always wondered why after all that money spent on educating junior, he/she could explain the theory behind a light bulb, but couldn't figure out how to change it! It became so dire that the university gave a practical 'electricians' course for a number of years. I'm glad to see that Leeds is providing a well rounded education for you.
@@CommenterRick 🤣. Sadly all the stuff I learn at uni I forget instantly since it's mostly about memorising for exams. It's all the time I put into my side projects and this channel that really sticks. I'm interested to see what Elon Musk's engineering university looks like lol
Why would you cut off the power supply tip and eliminate its functionality?
It would be much smarter to get the receptacle and solder on two wires that you can use to insert into the Bread board
