Spaghettimonster almighty. Every time that bass comes in at 1:25 I just turn into jello. Coming from a guy who did his fair share of drugs in his prime, sober for multiple years now. For all people who never did any drugs, but also have an above average understanding of music and microtonality, this is the closest you'll ever get. And I will be following this artist closely.
Your song Gleam was one of the songs that used to take me by my hand to oblivion and beyond, now it just reminds me of places I've been and experiences I've had, but it's like a photograph of a holiday way back when. I'm grateful to have kicked all those habits, but also to experience a full new Sevish album sober, and realise that the attraction wasn't at all drug fueled (since most of my co-druggies wanted easier music). The musicality, microtonality, and the "difficulty" of the music brought me here, not the drugs.
Please keep on putting your songs on CZcams, that's what got me into your music, and made me decide to pay 50 pounds for your latest Morphable album (which is amazing).

I seriously miss when so many games had music along these lines and so much more...
I'm not asking for Jungle in the next immersive cinematic experience or whatever, but I miss when there were so many games that where stylish in every way.
Mid 90's and early 2000's were the high point for this phenomenon if my memory is roughly correct, it felt like there was more balance back then.
When I hear a game get even just slightly groovy nowadays it stands out to me, and it really shouldn't

btw, I'm serious, why does this version sound like a 128KB/s version of your full album? I don't have the greatest of hifi installations, but there is a noticeable difference between the two streams. Would take 56kbps Seavish over superaudio-surround Taylor Swift any day of the year, don't get me wrong. Bought the album on Bandcamp anyways, buy when I'm on youtube with friends, and Sevish shows up, I don't want to have to openn up an entire directory of Sevish mp3s.
Just saying, still love the work. scrap that, I don't love it. I almost worship it.

@@Sevish it's 99% youtube cropping audio. But if a quote/unquote "fan" of yours with a stereo maybe slightly above the average household stereo (and with quite some tinnitus to boot) can pick up the difference between on the one hand your bandcamp FLAC download of just spotify account, and on the other hand this youtube quality, then my guess is that YT is seriously throttling down the audio quality. I might actually not be far off with the 128kb/s estimate. Again, not blaming you, I'm even applauding YT for recommending your music to me, I would't have known about your music otherwise. But it just doesn't seem to me that it is in YT's best interest that when I want to showcase some Sevish music to other people while we are in a YT music sharing session, that I have to switch over to other forms of media (i.e. spotify or flac audio). It defies the whole point of their businessmodel. Yes, one gets pointed to new artists that are to the likes of their consumers... but what if those consumers want to listen to that music. Why would they want them to go to spotify or bandcamp? Only because there is a 1080p clip attached? The clip is great, don't get me wrong. It's esthetically pleasing, and functional at the same time.
But I would rather have a YT clip with 320kb sound and no clip, than a 1080p clip with 128kb sound.
The christmas present I could never have would be a 4k clip with flac sound, but apparently not many people in the world have unlimited bandwith yet.
Again, it is 99.9% not your fault, just YT trying to keep their bandwith down. I'll keep listening even when they bring the audio datarate down to 56kbps, like in the 90s.
      Greetings from the Netherlands,
      Maaszult

@@cellularautomaton. Oftentimes Just Intonation compositions don't have a more specific category to be crammed into, and that's okay. Just Intonation means all of the intervals used are pure intervals. That means there could be potentially infinite notes, so the most restrictive category it could be crammed into would be 7-limit or 11-limit or whatever this song happens to be... and even that categorization doesn't work out unless the composer intentionally restricted themselves in that way.

    • @GizzyDillespee
      @GizzyDillespee Před rokem +1

You could search for Wikipedia's "list of 5-limit intervals", for example, and pull out the ones they call "just major 2nd", "just minor 3rd", "perfect 4th" etc, as your octave, and that's the scale I'm assuming he used. There are the other 5-limit intervals listed, with their various names, but you can tell which are the standardized ones, and which intervals have alternatives that are ALMOST as simple harmonic ratios. If Sevish doesn't clarify, and if no-one gets forensic about it, then I'd assume it's that standard 12 note 5-limit octave?

Love Sevish, but IMO, all instruments can be done elecronically with no significant loss, with the single exception of drums. It is impossible for a programmed drum-beat to live, because the life in in the ebb and flow of the micro-adjustments a human drummer makes in the rhythm as the music impresses itself upon the human's ears.

@@johncasey9544 It's popular among people too young to notice that the drums are dead. I have played drums (not well), not long, but long enough to notice the difference between human drumming and machine drumming, and after that, I can no longer listen to machines. I also play guitar (badly), but I have no problem with auto-guitar or player-piano for that matter. Just drums. Because the whole point of drumming is the subtle dynamics, the playing with the time, even when you feel that the beat is a perfect groove, it's not mathematically perfect in its time division, it's aesthetically perfect.
