There's alot people posting stuff about Arteta and Klopp back then given time etc to sort their club out and to slowly build their team. But you look at Ten Hag and, after taking over the reigns off the back of the worst ever United side in EPL history, is given only 43 games to prove himself and now "fans" want him gone. It never cease to amaze me how different this club is from every other club out there. Its ridiculous. The entitlement and whatnot that gets thrown at us from rival fans are unfortunately so true.

Your fans need to humble themselves and realise this is NOT Fergies Utd. Temper expectations a bit and grow with the team. Arsenal and Liverpool fans had to put aside their ego for the first couple years and understand that they weren’t the team they think they are, but are striving to get there. Constantly comparing this team to Fergies era doesn’t achieve anything.

The thing is at the time there’s was hardly anybody asking to give Arteta time and Arsenal lost their first 3 open ring games of 21/22 and were 20th hindsight is 20/20. Personally I was listening to what people in football were saying, not pundits, but managers (even Jose who has no reason to be positive towards Arsenal) and players, they were all confident Arteta is the guy so I just believed them even though I had my doubts. I think Ten Hag should be given this season at least, we aren’t even 10 games in.

When people say “back the manager” and then complain when the manager has financial support, they often forget that backing the manager includes providing structural support. Man. Utd. hasn’t provided a manager structural support yet. In fact, they terminated the one man who came on to serve as an advisor on fixing that issue in Ragnick.

I'm a gooner and I completely agree with Terry. Young untested manager aside, the reason Arsenal are in a better place atm is because the ownership have recognised failings in the club and are trying to rectify them. Albeit after a disastrous foray into the European Super League. Did that open their eyes, only they can say. But the Glaziers don't care, all they see is £££s. Until United fans, pun intended, unite and open their eyes or force them out, nothing will change. Even if the manager is substandard, even if his signings aren't good enough. Ultimately the buck stops with them and they're at fault regardless. The same for Arsenal if Arteta fails, they employed him, so they will be at fault.

Just my view. Its starts from the top. The essential problem started 10 years ago, not now... you need owners with a vision, whatever that might be. Buy a top quality 11 and mould them into a winning team, buy young talented players and let them grow and develop together, with a handful of quality experienced players, etc., etc. whatever it is. With a manager who has a system, philosophy, etc. Then have the nerve/balls/belief and ambition to back it AND **see it through**. This hasn't happened at utd in the last 10 years.
If you have no vision, everything becomes reactionary and short term thinking i.e. almost buying players at random to fulfil a need, like 'we need a LB'. You get one, they maybe decent. even good, but there's no profiling of that particular player. Their mentality, their attributes that fit with your system/philosophy and so on.
In my opinion singling out individual players or the manager (even though you can and it might even be spot on), is ultimately the symptom you are critiquing NOT the fundamental cause. Currently your club is doomed to be stuck in this loop, unless someone implements a vision that is shared throughout the club. Just how I see it, for what its worth.

@@soothingrelaxationsounds7461 yeah 💯. We had it at arsenal for years. Its only since the Kronke's became sole owners and implemented an actual vision for the club has things changed. Hey it might not work, Arteta might not be the one to bring us trophies, but at least you can see what the club is trying to do, from top to bottom. The vision, culture, etc. That at last gives you hope as a fan and even if it doesn't work under Arteta, the essential structure/the foundations are there for the next manager. That's what you need at utd, but in your own way. You need to get **your** utd back, not the one the Glaziers have created...

The Glazers couldn't care less about what we fans think.
So, they have no need to turn our attention towards ETH.
The Glazers only care about their revenue from United and the value of United.
What we think about the, doesn't change that.
You need to stop thinking that we as fans have any pressure against the Glazers, because we don't.
As long as OT is filled with fans every game and fans buy lots of merch, that is all they care about.

I'll caveat this by stating I'm a Liverpool fan, but a Liverpool Fan who likes and wants United to be a force. Not a Saudi Owned out of reach ruin the game force, but an us and you, competing at the top for honors rebuilding a storied rivalry kind of force. I think the real issue with Man U is expectation and entitlement, and that permeates all areas of your club. The Owners, The Players, the Fans, hell probably the Tea Lady. The best thing that Fergie did for you, was to make you the undisputed best in England and perhaps the world at his pomp, and that is also the worst thing he did, for your situation now. You were the best, but you no longer are, and will never have a chance of getting back there whilst standards are disproportionate to your standing. Take it from a Liverpool fan who was humbled throughout the nineties and early noughties. Look to the Arsenal fans who fell right off after Wenger, but took their situation (eventually) and accepted where they were, whilst waiting for Arteta and a bunch of up and comers to come good. It is admitadly harder for you as your era of dominance most likely lasted the longest in living memory. Also your dominant generations in the social and online space grew up knowing nothing but success, like it was your god given right at the time and forever and a day. The reality was, you had a generational manager, they aren't ten a penny. We have perhaps had a handful during the whole Premier League lifecycle, and we arguably have never had more than two at any one time. We (I would say) have two now in Pep and Klopp. The odds of you unearthing another, especially who will be that way straight off the bat is stupid. You need to re-evaluate your standards and your expectations and do as Liverpool fans did, and Arsenal fans have more recently done. you need to get back to enjoying the journey and not just the destination. You need to stop hyping every player as best in class, or potential world beaters, (because of course they are aware and it feeds into their egos,) start appreciating them as up and comers and potential. Liverpool didn't go out and get Torres and Suarez because they were best in the world at the time and they needed to compete with the top clubs, they shopped in the market below, and got players with a point to prove and the bit between their teeth. United reach for the top table and are left with scraps, when you should be cleaning up the creme de la creme from the next table down. This is at the feet of the owners and management, but stems from the noises from the fans and you (on the whole) expect and demand the best every time (Kane for example). Know your current place and build back stronger, get back to enjoying football and the adventure that comes with it, instead of bubbling in toxic fury because you aren't the current bell of the ball. I mean this not as a slight, not as a dig but as a genuine bit of advice from a Liverpool fan who lived the mediocre years to get back to a pinnacle and who can now look back at players like Djimi Traore getting a champions league medal with fondness instead of embarrassment. You will be back, but only when you check your entitlement at the door, re-evaluate and get behind the team. I doubt anyone will have bothered to read this far, but my biggest fear is that we suffer the same fate as you when Klopp leaves, if he stays long enough that a whole generation forgets life before him, then I worry for those who follow, because as you and many other teams have proven over the years, replacing a world class manager is never the easiest thing, if it is at all, even possible.

Total agreement with Terry. Man Utd are going through a tricky time with key players missing from the team. The formation the team played was good but the players didn't stick to the plan. Every player has a role and that is to boss its assigned areas or stripe of the pitch - the defense and midfielders didnt.. Do feel Ten Hag is the right manager .. Fans needs to be patient wait until Man Utd recover all its player and adapt to the diamoind style Ten Hag implemented. Man Utd will be a slow burner but it will come good.. Rashford is extremely hot and cold.
I am all for the manager playing Rashford all the time when he is hot, but when the manager continues to play Rashford when he is very cold, then I have a huge problem with it.
Garnacho has in many games shown that he can be an amazing impact player from the bench, but still ETH kept Rashford on and didn't sub Garnacho in before the 85th minute and then he still kept Rashford on that had a proper stinker of a game.
What did ETH expect Garnacho to do in the few minutes left being 2 goals down?
I don't see Rashford as the problem here.
I see the manager as the problem.
He should not play Rashford when he is very cold like that.
Specially not when we all saw how Rashford walked around sulking and being selfish.
ETH should have dragged him of and given him a proper hairdryer treatment.
So many pundits and fans love to talk about how great Rashford is and he is very protected by English pundits and English press.
Why didn't the press push ETH harder on why he didn't sub off Rashford in the press conference after the game?
      It is a joke.

I don't want Rashford out, but I want ETH out.
I have found it amazing from day one that fans think ETH is a great manager.
ETH has never been a great manager and that is the fact.
I watched almost all games Ajax played under ETH, so I have rather good knowledge about him as a manager before he came to United.
Getting 1st and 2nd with Ajax in the Dutch league with the players he had in his squad, was not an achievement at all.
The fact is if he hadn't gotten 1st or 2nd, the Ajax fans would be furious and he would be sacked asap because getting 3rd during those seasons, would be shockingly bad.
The reason Ajax is struggling now, is because they have sold way to many of their good players.
The only decent/good thing ETH has done with Ajax was one good run in the Champions League, but every single person that know something about the Champions League, is that you can have a good run in the Champions League if you are lucky with the draws and/or your team being in top form and/or the other team being in crap form.
Or you can be lucky with the referees or other things during the game.
After ETH came to United, I have seen the same flaws ETH had at Ajax.
Like being extremely stubborn and being very poor with in game management.
He has almost never a plan B.
He waffles and comes with stupid excuses in press conferences and always blame someone or something else for his own failures and never admits that he could have done better.
He always says 'we' and never 'I' when he talks about what could have been better or mistakes been done.
During the Brighton game it was extremely obvious that he needed to change formation and/or tactics during the game and that he needed to do subs differently.
Like shifting back to his normal formation and bring on Garnacho and Pellestri way earlier than he did.
And he needed to take advantage of the Hannibal goal to get at Brighton more and maybe get at least one more.
Instead he just continued as it was, like he was either totally unable to see why we struggled with the change Brighton had done during the game, or he was totally clueless about how to deal with it, or he thought that he would look weak if he admitted that his plan A didn't work, and was unwilling to change it.
Either way, was it glaringly obvious that he did a crap in game job.
And this is exactly how it was in most games when he was the manager for Ajax.
He totally relied on plan A and that was it.
He has claimed that he keeps all players accountable and treats them all the same way, but that is obviously not true when we have seen how he has been treating Antony and Rashford.
Arteta is a good enough manager to bench Havertz when he sees that it is needed, but ETH is not willing to do that with Rashford and Antony when it has been needed.
And this is a perfect example of one of the differences between a great manager and a mediocre one.
ETH is sedning crap messages to both Rashford and Antony when they always play, no matter what.
And that is a crap message to the other players in the squad as well, when they see how differently they are treated compared with Rashford and Antony.
I know Antony is suspended now, but you can be sure he would play every single minute, no matter how poor he was on the pitch, if he wasn't suspended.
I know it is early and that we can't keep getting new managers, but that doesn't mean that a manager like ETH should be protected and not get sacked when he is far from good enough.
Keeping a manager just because we don't want to get new managers all the time, no matter how poor hi is, is utterly stupid and an argument that really pisses me off.
    I want ETH out now.
And I really don't understand what makes fans wanting to keep him.
What do they see in him?
What do they think he has done that is so great and makes them think he is a great manager?
Getting 3rd and win a Mickey Mouse trophy in a season that was far from normal where 3 teams like Chelsea, Liverpool and Chelsea normally would be better to much better
Where our away form was so extremely bad that we in a normal season would struggle to get top 6?
    Utter nonsense.
Fans have been blinded to think what ETH did last season was so great because the months under Ragnick were so extremely bad.
The reality is that we played crap football for most of last season and got saved by a very hot Rashford and a very good Bruno.
If we had an average Rashford last season, we would most likely not even get top 6.
I know this is an essay, but I am sick and tired of ETH and all the BS many fans and fan channels say about him.

I said we need two strikers, I even wrote a list of players I recommended for the team to invest in during the transfer window and did they lsiten or even bother considering looking into the potential scouts? No of course they didn't they let one of them (Kim Min Jae) slip off the radar and James Maddison was pushed aside for Mason Mount- Was I right on that one, yes I was.
I said that a loan of Joao Felix was a good option considering he's been linked to United before, we need someone alongside Hojlund because if Hojlund gets injured or cannot play we will be in very big trouble. Did the club listen, what do you think.
I said letting David De Gea go for free when instead we should opt for a loan deal until January of Andre Onana to see how he gets on at the club and then make a permanent decision in January when we are sure, all while keeping David De Gea because just replacing a goal keeper off the bat on the last minute is a very dangerous decision to make. I told the club that we would come to truly regret this decision as the season moves forward. Did they listen, oh do you know what the answers no to absolutely everything. People blame the scouts, wrong the scouts do their job but at the end of the day if the manager and the owners ignore it or simply go not interested what else can be realistically done? They hold the cards, they have the final say and when we literally find them legit, proven players with great work ethics and future potential they just go no we'll buy Mount, a few other players on a panic spree and a new keeper. All the players I recommended to the club before the transfer window opened have now gone on to bang in goals, win players of the month and stride their teams into success in the early season, all those players we could have at the very least put a bid in for but they didn't even do that, they didn't even consider them whatsoever. I am angered at the lack of understanding and communication and the amount of money this club is wasting on players that aren't even recommended by most of the scouting team and outside assets is a shambles. So far everything I have said about Man Utd and the direction they're heading in has been 100% spot on. They simply do not care and don't listen to the staff or even the CEO.

i cannot believe rashford is coming in fot such heavy criticism... yes he made some poor choices but also he was the ONLY 1 who looked like creating or scoring a goal. hojlunds var goal was created by rashford. a game vs brighton where we conceded 3 identical goals straight down the middle of our team with no one tracking... yet its rashfords fault. u cant make this shit up. 41 g/a last season the single biggest reason we finished 3rd and with a trophy. smh
we need to play a proper rw wide to give balance but more importantly that central midfield needs work. it cannot be the case that wolves Brighton arsenal spurs can all just continually walk through the centre of midfield popping shots and running onto the cbs... thats a ridiculous situation. we need amrabat so badly it's unreal

They need to play other players even if they aren't as good just to light a fire under the ass of the first choices. Start with that Turkish Keeper they bought. He can't play much worse than Onana and even if he does then when Onana comes back he knows he needs to perform or get benched. Same thing with Rashford. Play Garnacho and show Rashford hes not above being replaced.

  • @conorpp1

As far as I can see, one of Uniteds biggest problem is a lack of effort on defence. Many of the players are happy to play on the front foot. But when called on to play defence, they let their man get away from them and dont track back. This would be unacceptable on most top teams. Would Klopp, Pep, Arteta or other good managers let that happen. I think it is also a mentality issue. Utd are seen as fragile. Even with average players, you want 100% effort. Grit and fight is the most important starting point you want from your team. Never give up, never stop fighting. Then you add skilled players into that mix. I have seen effort levels drop during Utds games when they go behind. It should be the reverse. More effort, more determination to play tough and get back on level terms. The uncompromising Will to Win.....thats whats missing. The question I have, is how many players in Utd have this grit and toughness. I dont think any of the team leaders do. The rest just follow the leaders example. Bruno is a great player. But at times he just looks like he isnt interested.

I don’t think I can disagree more with the Talksh!te calls on ETH and Rashford.
    1) Rashford has always had a problem with awareness as a forward. Attacking coaches played to this weakness and made him the focal point last season. But he is not a striker. People seem to forget that the disallowed goal against Brighton would have been a Rashford assist! He needs to improve as a provider for Højlund.
    2) EtH tactics is partly to blame for the performances but also the club has failed to keep the players fit and the recruitment team has brought in players when most of them were injured or not fit. That’s why Højlund was brought off after 65 mins btw.
This is not enough to call for ETH’s head… yet. People that say this are either hyperbolic or want to see the club burn.
We have been through this periodically over 10 years. See if Ten Hag can turn this around, with the injured players back (Varane, Shaw, Højlund, Amrabat, Mount), get rid of the toxic players (from what I have heard about Sancho that’s what it looks like), and some of the really unfortunate decisions go our way. Things look a lot better.

Hi Terry I am not a Man U fan in fact I support Liverpool and I agree with many of the comments by your own fans that the Glazers are not the only ones reaponsible for your woes at least not on the pitch. They have spent every summer way more money than my clubs owners FSG. It could be stated that FSG have invested heavily in rebuilding Anfield whilst OT is rotting away but when it comes to investments in the squad the Glazers win hands down. We were more or less in the same boat until Klopp was brought in and Man U have not had a top top manager since Fergie retired and there lies the root of all your on field problems. Youve spent £200m this summer in the players that Ten Hagg wanted. What I dont understand is why the uproar after losing to Brighton because at this moment in time they are a way better team than United. Your issues go back all the way post Ferguson.

For me, we learned from Rojo that ole was told to play maguire because of how much he’s was on and how much he was bought for. With other players- case in point rashford. I think it could potentially be that ten hag has been instructed to some point to get the best out of rashford. This is the second manager in a row that has played him consistently even when he’s been bad or even not fit and injured when ole played him. It could also be that rashford is really good in training and feels he has to be the match winner every game.
Overall tho people need to back off ten hag. The glazers and the way the club is run are clearly the root cause of all issues going on.

RASHFORDs work rate off the ball is zero. How can't anyone see that? Lindelof is absolutely clumsy on and off the ball. Dalot makes critical errors defending and is awful in attack. Ericksen is a total waste of space. Look at what kind of talent other clubs are investing in. It's all pretty clear. Scott Mctominay may not be the best but he atleast puts in the effort.
