Rashford needs to find his balance, a few season ago we were pissed because he wasn't taking players on. Now he has a striker and runners to pass to, however what's more concerning he doesn't defend or show enthusiasm without the ball.

Rashfords defensive contribution is worse than Ronaldo's. Yet United were quick to get rid Europe's greatest goalscorer this generation so they can have Rashford do less? 😂
They also signed an average keeper who knows how to do accurate long passes and get rid of their best keeper in the last decade who won the golden glove last season and still probably is one of the best shot stoppers in Europe 😂
They got rid of Fred for Money Mason who had serious injury concerns last season at Chelsea and has shown nothing yet and has unbalanced the midfield 😅
United bought Antony for £100mill who can't beat a defender only knows how to beat women 😂 and ostracized their £75mill winger who had superior qualities at Dortmund than Anthony, has more technical ability and a proven record at Dortmund with and without haaland 😂 yet a woman beater and a graypist got more love from the manager and United hierarchy 😂
Without glazers United will be spending big. With glazers United are spending big. Bad owners matter at Liverpool or QPR...not United. In fact the United football side really does not need to know what's happening behind the scenes. They have the finances to compete with the elite in Europe and they have been spending that money to compete with the best in Europe. This all boils down to Jose sacking. The second United sacked Jose it went downhill, and to make matters worse they had a rookie manager with no success absolutely destroy the small amounts of success and winning mentality Jose had built. United fans were over the moon when they sacked a world class manager who won the most amount of trophies since fergie left, for a trendy young manager with no experience with the big boys 😂 all because it was the trendy thing to hate on dinasoaur Jose...but same group backed Greenwood to the hill 😂
United are washed, fans are washed, players washed, managers and coaches washed 😂 the only ones winning big at United are the Glazers 😂 and they have spent the most in Europe in the last 10 years to get United back to where they belong, so no one can say they have been the problem.
      Terry is coping hard.

Total agreement with Terry. Man Utd are going through a tricky time with key players missing from the team. The formation the team played was good but the players didn't stick to the plan. Every player has a role and that is to boss its assigned areas or stripe of the pitch - the defense and midfielders didnt.. Do feel Ten Hag is the right manager .. Fans needs to be patient wait until Man Utd recover all its player and adapt to the diamoind style Ten Hag implemented. Man Utd will be a slow burner but it will come good.. Also utd Sporting director and running of the club is the issue - it has qulaity players but all have attributes that does not favor the manager. This club needs to go back to basics.

The plan was not good at all.
It was very obvious that Eriksen would never be able to keep it up as much as that plan needed for long.
And the moment Brighton changed their tactics a bit and widened their play, ETH's plan fell apart.
It was so extremely obvious to see.
But you clearly didn't see that and blame the players.
ETH clearly was not able to see that or to stubborn to change his plan.
You yourself even say that we need to wait for our injured players to come back for the diamond to work, and still you blame the players on the pitch.
ETH should never have played the diamond with the players he had available.
And him not able to understand that, tells me that he is totally out of his depths.

My biggest issue with rashford especially this season is his creativity. As a goal scorer its fine but he needs to balance his play. As you can see the previous game 9 shots and 1 chance created. As far as am concerned individually those starts are really good for him but not the team overall. He ain't a striker he needs to be more selfless and find his team mates in better position if not he can then shot.

I've been saying for a while, Rashford's biggest weakness is the consistency of his decision making in the final third. Its extremely fustrating to watch. Hojlund will be a waste of a transfer if Rashford continues to play like this.

    • delta fay
      delta fay Před 13 dny

@Will-Lloyd Kyere I honestly think the guy is limited and NOT the sublimely talented player many insist he is. Great at his own little Rashford moves, but ask him to modify...FORGET IT...dummy gets spat out..hands up in the air etc etc...fans are getting sick to death of him. Ofcourse he isn't the only one. I will be amazed if this crew don't throw Ten Hag under the bus. Am i a massive Ten Hag fan?...absolutely not..i think he's far too cerebral and rigid , but changing the manager aint going to have these players stepping up. Too many of them lack the discipline and spirit to be truly good team players....i wouldn't keep many of them if money was no object...but ofcourse it is and always will be while the parasites remain owners. Damn sad what's happened to this club.

    • Will-Lloyd Kyere
      Will-Lloyd Kyere Před 13 dny

@delta fay I agree with Rashford being limited. He’s 26 soon , you can’t teach football iq to an old dog. Ten hag has a few weaknesses with style of play, stubbornness and his talent ID for some of the transfers(everyone so far bar Hojlund and Casemiro has an eredivise/ Dutch association) At the same time if the club was run properly our DOF would take charge of recruiting players to suit the playing style, we wouldn’t have even half of the off field issues going on and we’d be able to judge him a lot harder without all the nonsense surrounding him rn

  • Gooner_Duke
    Gooner_Duke Před 13 dny +15

Just my view. Its starts from the top. The essential problem started 10 years ago, not now... you need owners with a vision, whatever that might be. Buy a top quality 11 and mould them into a winning team, buy young talented players and let them grow and develop together, with a handful of quality experienced players, etc., etc. whatever it is. With a manager who has a system, philosophy, etc. Then have the nerve/balls/belief and ambition to back it AND **see it through**. This hasn't happened at utd in the last 10 years.
If you have no vision, everything becomes reactionary and short term thinking i.e. almost buying players at random to fulfil a need, like 'we need a LB'. You get one, they maybe decent. even good, but there's no profiling of that particular player. Their mentality, their attributes that fit with your system/philosophy and so on.
In my opinion singling out individual players or the manager (even though you can and it might even be spot on), is ultimately the symptom you are critiquing NOT the fundamental cause. Currently your club is doomed to be stuck in this loop, unless someone implements a vision that is shared throughout the club. Just how I see it, for what its worth.

      Gooner_Duke Před 13 dny +3

@Soothing Relaxation Sounds yeah 💯. We had it at arsenal for years. Its only since the Kronke's became sole owners and implemented an actual vision for the club has things changed. Hey it might not work, Arteta might not be the one to bring us trophies, but at least you can see what the club is trying to do, from top to bottom. The vision, culture, etc. That at last gives you hope as a fan and even if it doesn't work under Arteta, the essential structure/the foundations are there for the next manager. That's what you need at utd, but in your own way. You need to get **your** utd back, not the one the Glaziers have created...

@Gooner_Dukewhat has changed at arsenal? Arsenal are doing what they should be doing, finishing top 4 winning CL money and keeping their pr strong across the globe by finishing top 4.
I'm yet to see arsenal win anything of note in the last 20 years 😂
Have seen the whole club vision thing play out 4 different times in the past with arsenal in the last 20 years...to no avail.
Have seen them spend big and still never compete. So what's so different this time? Since kroenke majority, Chelsea have won the CL and competed in 5 different finals? They have also had their club hierarchy ripped apart and forced into new ownership and still see more ambition from them to win something big than at arsenal 😂
Arsenal fans are once again being played by Kroenke pr team thinking he is building something special for the long term 😂 but as always it may amount to 1-2 fa cups, 0 pl or cl and the top 4, soon to be top 5 trophy for maybe 3-4 seasons in a row.
That is arsenal, stop coping with the story you have created for yourselves 😂 about kroenke and his grand vision. You 🤡 are getting played once again 😅

I'm a gooner and I completely agree with Terry. Young untested manager aside, the reason Arsenal are in a better place atm is because the ownership have recognised failings in the club and are trying to rectify them. Albeit after a disastrous foray into the European Super League. Did that open their eyes, only they can say. But the Glaziers don't care, all they see is £££s. Until United fans, pun intended, unite and open their eyes or force them out, nothing will change. Even if the manager is substandard, even if his signings aren't good enough. Ultimately the buck stops with them and they're at fault regardless. The same for Arsenal if Arteta fails, they employed him, so they will be at fault.

I agree. arsenal took years to get here. can't give to much credit to the board that have no balls to sack wenger. I firmly believe wenger will be afc manager today if he chose to stay. I am more interested looking at lfc, yes it took them nearly 30 years to win the pl. they are judge like a proper big team (need to win thing)and when klopp fumbles last season nobody can fault the fans that want him out.while Arleta situation are different. they were always look at as challenger while man Utd and lfc are judge differently. no cup u are a failure. while I think Arleta will be save as long as he keep arsenal challenging even without winning anything.

Whilst I think that Ten Hag is a good manager, I can't see him staying at Manchester United for too long. The culture at the club is rotten which is ultimately the fault of the owners. It is so extremely obvious that he is treating his players differently.
It must also be very obvious to the players that ETH speaks pure nonsense in the press conferences.
It must also be very obvious to the players that ETH's in game management is very poor.
This will most likely lead to the players losing trust in ETH and then it is only going downhill from there.

There's alot people posting stuff about Arteta and Klopp back then given time etc to sort their club out and to slowly build their team. But you look at Ten Hag and, after taking over the reigns off the back of the worst ever United side in EPL history, is given only 43 games to prove himself and now "fans" want him gone. It never cease to amaze me how different this club is from every other club out there. Its ridiculous. The entitlement and whatnot that gets thrown at us from rival fans are unfortunately so true.

Personally I was listening to what people in football were saying, not pundits, but managers (even Jose who has no reason to be positive towards Arsenal) and players, they were all confident Arteta is the guy so I just believed them even though I had my doubts. I think Ten Hag should be given this season at least, we aren’t even 10 games in.

  • Emperor Jahrome
Emperor Jahrome Před 13 dny +1

It isn't just the players we have it's also the ignorance at the higher levels. In fact that is the route of all our other major problems.
I have said this a billion times through the summer before even pre season.
I said we need two strikers, I even wrote a list of players I recommended for the team to invest in during the transfer window and did they lsiten or even bother considering looking into the potential scouts? No of course they didn't they let one of them (Kim Min Jae) slip off the radar and James Maddison was pushed aside for Mason Mount- Was I right on that one, yes I was.
I said that a loan of Joao Felix was a good option considering he's been linked to United before, we need someone alongside Hojlund because if Hojlund gets injured or cannot play we will be in very big trouble. Did the club listen, what do you think.
I said letting David De Gea go for free when instead we should opt for a loan deal until January of Andre Onana to see how he gets on at the club and then make a permanent decision in January when we are sure, all while keeping David De Gea because just replacing a goal keeper off the bat on the last minute is a very dangerous decision to make. I told the club that we would come to truly regret this decision as the season moves forward. Did they listen, oh do you know what the answers no to absolutely everything. People blame the scouts, wrong the scouts do their job but at the end of the day if the manager and the owners ignore it or simply go not interested what else can be realistically done? They hold the cards, they have the final say and when we literally find them legit, proven players with great work ethics and future potential they just go no we'll buy Mount, a few other players on a panic spree and a new keeper. All the players I recommended to the club before the transfer window opened have now gone on to bang in goals, win players of the month and stride their teams into success in the early season, all those players we could have at the very least put a bid in for but they didn't even do that, they didn't even consider them whatsoever. I am angered at the lack of understanding and communication and the amount of money this club is wasting on players that aren't even recommended by most of the scouting team and outside assets is a shambles. So far everything I have said about Man Utd and the direction they're heading in has been 100% spot on. They simply do not care and don't listen to the staff or even the CEO.

I am all for the manager playing Rashford all the time when he is hot, but when the manager continues to play Rashford when he is very cold, then I have a huge problem with it.
Garnacho has in many games shown that he can be an amazing impact player from the bench, but still ETH kept Rashford on and didn't sub Garnacho in before the 85th minute and then he still kept Rashford on that had a proper stinker of a game.
What did ETH expect Garnacho to do in the few minutes left being 2 goals down?
I don't see Rashford as the problem here.
I see the manager as the problem.
He should not play Rashford when he is very cold like that.
Specially not when we all saw how Rashford walked around sulking and being selfish.
ETH should have dragged him of and given him a proper hairdryer treatment.
So many pundits and fans love to talk about how great Rashford is and he is very protected by English pundits and English press.
Why didn't the press push ETH harder on why he didn't sub off Rashford in the press conference after the game?
      It is a joke.

Hmmm, atm UTD situation is rly tricky. TH have not started to produce since the start of the season, and i would say United played better last season than this one so far. I don't agree that Rashford is bad, i think he is doing good things on the left, although he looked not interested in press against Brighton. Casemiro looks out of form and Bruno isn't doing as much as well. I also think that TH needed to prepare better for this season and all i see are exuses from him tbh. Said that i don't think TH out is the soluton but you can't say he didnt get most of the players he wanted. Big problem is that the structure and culture is rly bad atm. You guys look disorganized at this point, and TH needs to fix that. ( not a UTD fan, just giving my two cents)

I mean, Rashy looked solid in the Scotland game - linking up with Jude, making excellent runs behind their defence, being selfless, etc. What happened between that game and the Brighton game? The same thing with Bruno and other United players. I understand that international break/games are a completely different thing but it seems like these players are CAPABLE of being on it when they want to. Maybe it's the quality of players around them, maybe it's the lack of passion for the club, or maybe Man Utd is just a toxic cesspool of negativity and drama that heavily impacts the players. 🤷‍♂🤷‍♂🤷‍♂
Even if the manager was sacked what would these United fans want the club to do? The only two coaches who are of a certain quality and are available right now are Julian Nagelsmann and Hansi Flick. I rate both of them for different reasons but would they even want the job knowing how shit the club is run? Both managed at BM so they know how a proper big, historic club is run. They'd see the state of the training facilities, the dilapidating OT, the pathetic scouting network, and the clowns who are responsible for handling transfers and they'd just walk away and never turn back. And why wouldn't they? Every self-respecting manager is never talking the United job ever.
Unless the current owners leave, nothing at Manchester United will change. They have never invested a CENT of their own money into the club. They have appointed bankers who have no idea what they're doing. They have taken so much money out of the club that they'd face criminal charges if they took a cent more. They are terrible football owners - they don't care about the club, the sport, or the fans. They care about profits but now the cow isn't physically capable to give milk anymore, so they have to throw it away or do they? The fans have underestimated their greed, although the cow isn't able to produce milk anymore it can still be used as meat.
People knew what was going to happen when they bought Man Utd in 2005. We were just lucky that SAF was our manager but he was just papering over the cracks at the time. It has always been an unsustainable way of running a football club. 18 years later and what a surprise - Manchester United are imploding and everything is falling apart, figuratively and literally. 😂

I'll caveat this by stating I'm a Liverpool fan, but a Liverpool Fan who likes and wants United to be a force. Not a Saudi Owned out of reach ruin the game force, but an us and you, competing at the top for honors rebuilding a storied rivalry kind of force. I think the real issue with Man U is expectation and entitlement, and that permeates all areas of your club. The Owners, The Players, the Fans, hell probably the Tea Lady. The best thing that Fergie did for you, was to make you the undisputed best in England and perhaps the world at his pomp, and that is also the worst thing he did, for your situation now. You were the best, but you no longer are, and will never have a chance of getting back there whilst standards are disproportionate to your standing. Take it from a Liverpool fan who was humbled throughout the nineties and early noughties. Look to the Arsenal fans who fell right off after Wenger, but took their situation (eventually) and accepted where they were, whilst waiting for Arteta and a bunch of up and comers to come good. It is admitadly harder for you as your era of dominance most likely lasted the longest in living memory. Also your dominant generations in the social and online space grew up knowing nothing but success, like it was your god given right at the time and forever and a day. The reality was, you had a generational manager, they aren't ten a penny. We have perhaps had a handful during the whole Premier League lifecycle, and we arguably have never had more than two at any one time. We (I would say) have two now in Pep and Klopp. The odds of you unearthing another, especially who will be that way straight off the bat is stupid. You need to re-evaluate your standards and your expectations and do as Liverpool fans did, and Arsenal fans have more recently done. you need to get back to enjoying the journey and not just the destination. You need to stop hyping every player as best in class, or potential world beaters, (because of course they are aware and it feeds into their egos,) start appreciating them as up and comers and potential. Liverpool didn't go out and get Torres and Suarez because they were best in the world at the time and they needed to compete with the top clubs, they shopped in the market below, and got players with a point to prove and the bit between their teeth. United reach for the top table and are left with scraps, when you should be cleaning up the creme de la creme from the next table down. This is at the feet of the owners and management, but stems from the noises from the fans and you (on the whole) expect and demand the best every time (Kane for example). Know your current place and build back stronger, get back to enjoying football and the adventure that comes with it, instead of bubbling in toxic fury because you aren't the current bell of the ball. I mean this not as a slight, not as a dig but as a genuine bit of advice from a Liverpool fan who lived the mediocre years to get back to a pinnacle and who can now look back at players like Djimi Traore getting a champions league medal with fondness instead of embarrassment. You will be back, but only when you check your entitlement at the door, re-evaluate and get behind the team. I doubt anyone will have bothered to read this far, but my biggest fear is that we suffer the same fate as you when Klopp leaves, if he stays long enough that a whole generation forgets life before him, then I worry for those who follow, because as you and many other teams have proven over the years, replacing a world class manager is never the easiest thing, if it is at all, even possible.

For me, we learned from Rojo that ole was told to play maguire because of how much he’s was on and how much he was bought for. With other players- case in point rashford. I think it could potentially be that ten hag has been instructed to some point to get the best out of rashford. This is the second manager in a row that has played him consistently even when he’s been bad or even not fit and injured when ole played him. It could also be that rashford is really good in training and feels he has to be the match winner every game.
Overall tho people need to back off ten hag. The glazers and the way the club is run are clearly the root cause of all issues going on.

As far as I can see, one of Uniteds biggest problem is a lack of effort on defence. Many of the players are happy to play on the front foot. But when called on to play defence, they let their man get away from them and dont track back. This would be unacceptable on most top teams. Would Klopp, Pep, Arteta or other good managers let that happen. I think it is also a mentality issue. Utd are seen as fragile. Even with average players, you want 100% effort. Grit and fight is the most important starting point you want from your team. Never give up, never stop fighting. Then you add skilled players into that mix. I have seen effort levels drop during Utds games when they go behind. It should be the reverse. More effort, more determination to play tough and get back on level terms. The uncompromising Will to Win.....thats whats missing. The question I have, is how many players in Utd have this grit and toughness. I dont think any of the team leaders do. The rest just follow the leaders example. Bruno is a great player. But at times he just looks like he isnt interested.

A top manager would've shunned utd unless he had funds and control of the who comes in and who goes out because if he was in control and he knows what is what then Anthony Martial Should've been long gone. Melacia is a strong defender but his Distribution is poor coming forward. Luke shaw is not quick at left back but his Distribution is exellent . At left centre he is outstanding move him to centre back pervis estupian from Brighton who was scouted for utd by Antonio Valencia for 5million and utd didnt take the offer because they had no vision. The club make so many mistakes they are on the road to going bust with all the players on huge salaries doing nothing on the pitch . If Jassim buys the club we may see a better side of ETH but the owners will have sell or sack him but im not too sure if sacking him will change anything.

A big club like man u should have a great coach. The board has no ambition. We were in need of a coach while pep and klopp were available but we didn't go for them. Now we are struggling with poor coaches who bring poor players

What I got from this is that glazers don’t want the club to be successful because they don’t want to stop making money, I swear success makes money, make it make sense terry glazers didn’t attack Antony’s mrs glazers didn’t out Sanchez after the arsenal defeat and the glazers didn’t pick the formation or the players against Brighton your manager has major flaws , he looked good on paper he can still come good but his gonna have to take this smoke and the united fans too for now .

Oh he’s their savior alright, what didn’t Ronaldo do for those numbheads? Even coming back two days after losing his son to score a goal for them they still managed to somehow hate on him and forced his hands to leave…my man had to score hat tricks sometimes to bail United off maguire’s sharing heart…but they turned on him real quick because they couldn’t secure top 4 spot when in reality,Ronaldo and De gea were the only two United players who were trying..if Ronaldo was in that United team that secured top 4 last season they would’ve been fighting for the pl trophy but nooo…ten bald scapegoated him and brought in workhorse, then martial used his usual purple patch to blind them for a few games and they started saying they don’t need Ronaldo ….

I support Ten Hag for sure, but I do believe Rashfood is so overrated and doesn't offer us anything unless we are gonna focus on counter attacking low block football with him and Bruno the main focus of the team, he cant play for a side that wants to control

Ten hag is far from the worst manger of all time since Ferguson he is trying to evolve the team which is a needed move to take in the premier league because teams will watch our tactics and learn how to shut them down we are going through growing pains that’s all it’s not the end of the world don’t let content creators spin this narrative and profit off of our clubs down fall and rashford does not need to go this is his second game with hojlund and rashford has always been the main man he is not used to having a striker that is somewhat competent and if you watch those highlights it will show rashford actually attempting to pass to hojlund in front of goal.

Sir Rashford MBE OBE DFC and Bar is politically untouchable, until we accept that and demand he's treated on merit as every other player is the sooner we can see him for what he is and move him on and let this club breathe, until politics is dethroned as the deciding factor we'll stay in this rut

I'm an Arsenal fan so I don't watch United as close as a United fan does but I do watch most of their games and I'm bamboozled by this shit, Rashy has been Man United's best player maybe bar De Gea in the past decade. Why is he always the one that gets hate, he was the only threat against us until Hoijlund came on the pitch and he was still getting hate. It's not like he's a prick of a person or anything either, he's a good bloke. So make this make sense

  • James Hanna

Im an arsenal fan and i personally think garnacho and hojlund are your main 2 . Garnacho needs a run in the team for confidence hes unselfish the only way hes gonna play well is by dropping rashford the same as what we done with martinelli gave him a full run in the team why aren't other teams looking at our model and trying to replicate it? Baffling really.
