There is black tar adhesive on them from the old asbestos tiling and there are some gouges in the wood.
yes this project looks good. but, You need someone that is experience to do the job , Technology was taken over and the hands on job are no longer here. Home improvement , we need more people working in this career

Can you use peel and stick vinyl tiles on stairs? Won’t it make stairs slippery when wet?
peel and stick save you lots of money and cutting .
this would be as slick as snot if it was just a little wet.
Purchase non slip tread coverings.
