Also try and talk about it in a strategical way, your thought process behind it, considerations before doing it etc. Some examples could be a CZcams video, portfolio, graphic designs? The question is more about showing your personality I think. Hope that helps!!

    I'm a little confused about the apprenticeship levels and qualifications required. Can you help, please?
    1/ You mention that certain academic qualifications are required for certain apprenticeship levels. Isn't that the employer's choice? If I wanted to recruit a sixteen year old as an apprentice in IT and I don't care what qualifications he has, who's to say what qualifications should be required (other than me)?
    2/ Also on the subject of qualifications for apprenticeship levels, would I be able to take someone on at sixteen and apprentice them through to degree level? They'd obviously have no academic qualifications (other than any GCSEs that they obtained), so what would happen to the "A levels needed for a degree apprenticeship" requirement?
    3/ I've been reading about apprenticeships and I see a lot of government interference. Is that the basis for this alignment of academic qualifications with apprenticeship levels?
    I hope you can find time to reply. Thanks in advance.

    • @whatisthis1262
      @whatisthis1262 Před 2 lety

      The govt pays for the apprenticeship. You need to be eligible for funding. An employer won't take you on as an apprentice if you're not eligible for the scheme. It's a govt scheme.

    • @ChefEarthenware
      @ChefEarthenware Před 2 lety

      @@whatisthis1262 Ok, I get that - if the Govt is paying then it gets to set the conditions of the apprenticeship.

      @@ChefEarthenware you'd have to partner with a college or university to set up an apprenticeship. From what I know you'll need to follow the government standards which means that there are entry requirements, as they also need to be eligible for the course they are studying

    • @ChefEarthenware
      @ChefEarthenware Před rokem

      @@mihranplayz3430 Thanks for the reply. The impression I'm getting here is that the Apprenticeship Scheme is regulated, which takes potential control out of my hands and gives it to the Government.
      I think the only option I can see would be to pick a sixteen year old straight from school and give them informal workplace training. But that's not going to give them the opportunity to obtain qualifications that they may desire.
      It's a shame, really.
