In the states they sometimes call the larger one the summer salon and the smaller one the winter salon because, as it is smaller, it is easier to heat and stay warm in the winter.

Chateau walls were not meant to be smooth. They worked as a background or rather base for the textile covering or lavish wallpaper covering. Love your choice of wallpaper. Soft relaxing green and gentle classic design. It is very chateau. Sure with accent colours that you have chosen it is going to look fabulous. ❤

Exactly. I had to get my Swedish antique dealer over a year ago to order the color cards, get them sent to Sweden. Who then sent them to me. Now just waiting on the new store in Connecticut. I saw it in my magazine. It’s taken them 2 years to decide to open a US store. Can’t wait.

I especially appreciated seeing the picture of the floor plan. For some reason, and in spite of your walk-through video, I had always pictured the dining room to the left of the entry and that the entry to the kitchen was directly to the right of the entry. So glad to have that fact sorted out. And great news about Little Greene opening a showroom in the US. Yeah! De spiegel is mooi bedekt met het nieuwe behang en de verf staat klaar in de bussen. Maar zelfs de kleding die jullie dragen is aangepast. Stuart in het groen en Patrick draagt turquoise. Het schemerlampje achter Patrick is van dezelfde kleur. Dat turquoise slaat op de " oude" kleur van de kamer en het groen van Stuart op de nieuwe kleur. Het patroon in het behang is prachtig . Ik zie er pendulum in ja, lampen, chandeliers, maar ook een soort van lichtstralen. Kortom,hier is echt over nagedacht. Dit behang en de verf past echt bij jullie. I watch a CZcams show about cleaning and repairing old and/or damaged paintings. Removal of that old varnish and a cleaning will bring the painting back to life. It is fascinating process to watch. The repairing in particular.
Always such a joy to hear all the progress you are making. Even though the work does seem endless, no doubt it it a lot of fun planning and getting jobs started. Continued "bon courage" for the ongoing work.

Good morning Patrick & Stewart, A most enjoyable video. So much going to happen. The private salon is totally excluded as you say from ears that should not hear. When I saw the alcove I thought immediately, why don't they place a day bed in there!! How strange I should have had that thought. The pvt salon is going to become stunning. The wall paper, you could not have made a better choice, that is for sure. Our three bedrooms and short passage is painted in a colour called satchel. I will not change it for nothing. It is a bit on the dark side, I might ask for a slightly lighter shade, depending what is available, I also have cream in there. It is so calming and it does not date, it always looks smart. The lounge colours the same, a French dark yellow more mustard, at the time I was not into French paint colours but it also is lovely, and I think I would do the same colour again, but in a more modern yellow/mustard. I think I will change from cream to white it will work as well. It is very hard work to renovate, there is no getting away from that. Try to keep it up, do as much as you can, when winter sinks in you can rest for a week and then you will be rejuvenated to start the trimmings and decorations for the Festive Season. It never stops, we just have to keep doing, and it is good for us. Would you like to recover the furniture with material that will match the room. As it is not going to be regularly used, more just for yourselves, I would also spend extra on really fabulous upholstery fabric. When ready to reveal, just show the completed paint and paper effect then you can add the before preparations. Cannot wait to see when you are ready. I loved the story about the bath, they had interesting living manners! Do take care, let it take as long as it takes to work, time is on your side. Happy days, toetsies.
My friends the choices that you make for colours are always exactly what I would choose. I am hoping that as you apply finishes on your surfaces, please consider hiring someone to dust, beat carpets, wash sheets etc. You have so many facets to your business, most notably are renovating, marketing and hosting bib guests. I’m sure you watch the budget carefully, but maintenance can easily get away from us as other projects take priority. Offer this advice out of love of you both and your vision.💗💗💗

Regarding the birds nesting in your work room, We had issues with Barn Swallows who swoop at you when they are nesting. I put up old CD's using fishing line tied to the rafters near where they like to nest. The moving CD and reflective nature of the CD kept them away. If you do before next nesting season, perhaps it will deter the birds from nesting in the work room.
Oh I see...I just felt bad they were keeping you from the workshop. Even so, you might be able to direct them to a better location.@@JourneytotheChateau

The combination of paper & paint colours and that wonderful picture remind me so much of the work of Rex Whistler and his decoration of (the now ever so very 'controversial' decor) Tate Britain's former Fine Dining Room. (The controversy might be considered a storm in a tea-cup given the business of the Gallery's name sake, but such is 'politics' today.) Anyway it will make a most delightful combination, the alcove providing a charming spot for tea taking on a winter's afternoon, assuming one day you will get a chance to do such a mundane thing! Your choices are divine and will make a beautiful room. Historical homes in the Southern US, had two "parlors", one for ladies and another for gentlemen. The gentlemen parlor was for smoking and drinking primarily. I wonder if that's a possibility in the chateau.

Green is my favorite color and I have used it inside and out of my home. If the walls are not flat it must be an additional challenge. All of the chateau vlogers I watch use Little Green. I have not seen their product here. I too used three shades of green in our living room and aqua in the master.

The lounge colours the same, a French dark yellow more mustard, at the time I was not into French paint colours but it also is lovely, and I think I would do the same colour again, but in a more modern yellow/mustard. I think I will change from cream to white it will work as well. It is very hard work to renovate, there is no getting away from that. Try to keep it up, do as much as you can, when winter sinks in you can rest for a week and then you will be rejuvenated to start the trimmings and decorations for the Festive Season. It never stops, we just have to keep doing, and it is good for us. Would you like to recover the furniture with material that will match the room. As it is not going to be regularly used, more just for yourselves, I would also spend extra on really fabulous upholstery fabric. When ready to reveal, just show the completed paint and paper effect then you can add the before preparations. Cannot wait to see when you are ready. I loved the story about the bath, they had interesting living manners! Do take care, let it take as long as it takes to work, time is on your side. Happy days, toetsies.

My friends the choices that you make for colours are always exactly what I would choose. I am hoping that as you apply finishes on your surfaces, please consider hiring someone to dust, beat carpets, wash sheets etc. You have so many facets to your business, most notably are renovating, marketing and hosting bib guests. I’m sure you watch the budget carefully, but maintenance can easily get away from us as other projects take priority. Offer this advice out of love of you both and your vision.💗💗💗

Regarding the birds nesting in your work room, We had issues with Barn Swallows who swoop at you when they are nesting. I put up old CD's using fishing line tied to the rafters near where they like to nest. The moving CD and reflective nature of the CD kept them away. If you do before next nesting season, perhaps it will deter the birds from nesting in the work room.
We did not want to deter them. We were encouraging them to nest in our outbuildings. 😂

The combination of paper & paint colours and that wonderful picture remind me so much of the work of Rex Whistler and his decoration of (the now ever so very 'controversial' decor) Tate Britain's former Fine Dining Room. (The controversy might be considered a storm in a tea-cup given the business of the Gallery's name sake, but such is 'politics' today.) Anyway it will make a most delightful combination, the alcove providing a charming spot for tea taking on a winter's afternoon, assuming one day you will get a chance to do such a mundane thing!

Your choices are divine and will make a beautiful room. Historical homes in the Southern US, had two "parlors", one for ladies and another for gentlemen. The gentlemen parlor was for smoking and drinking primarily. I wonder if that's a possibility in the chateau.

Green is my favorite color and I have used it inside and out of my home. If the walls are not flat it must be an additional challenge. All of the chateau vlogers I watch use Little Green. I have not seen their product here. I too used three shades of green in our living room and aqua in the master.
