- You never know what you get in Alaska, Snow, Hail, Bears! We had quite the adventure for Mother's Day, in Denali National Park. It was still shoulder season so we got to drive all the way back to 30 miles in the park, in our own vehicle.

Hmmm, my reply disappeared. I was checking to see if I missed anything and your reply was gone 🤔 Denali is truly amazing, Every time we go back on the park road the weather changes quickly. Those mountain ranges can do strange things for sure. Thank you 🥰💖🌞🦋

It is so pretty in the park, it always looks different every time we go. We had a wonderful day, I was hoping to see moose and caribou, but I think they were hunkered down because of the weather.
Denali is beautiful. I can see why traveling there in the winter season could be dangerous. The fowl on the side of the road are pretty. I love seeing the bear in their environment. My middle son worked at Yellowstone National Park for5 years and when I visited him we would go wildlife looking. I've seen alot of animals in the wild. The snow was pretty but being from Minnesota I know you don't need to see it again for months!! Sled dogs are amazing. I watched the sled teams come through Duluth and loved it. I would love to go into the park in the winter, maybe one day. I actually thought there would be more snow up in the mountains, things really melted fast this year. The Ptarmigan are our state bird, they were all over and getting their summer plumage, they are white in the winter and brown and gray in the summer. I was hoping to visit Yellowstone on the way up to Alaska but never did, it is still on my bucket list and now I have my National Park pass! We love the sled dogs, they are pretty amazing. Hi Bears. What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Gorgeous scenery and the food looked very yummy. Too funny, about the restaurant not having smoked salmon. Probably since things were just opening they were still getting everything together. In the beginning of the drive, the man walking his dog was living quite dangerously. Or maybe not .... driver's might be much more polite (and hopefully not distracted). Would not work well doing that where we live. Our road is 40 mph with a double yellow line ... one lane each direction. I sometimes think there are some folks who actually aim for people getting their mail from the mailboxes. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Hope the week goes well. 💜💜💜
Hello! It was the perfect weekend, the beds were awful though. It was kind of sad the things that they were out of already at the restaurants. Especially salmon 😨 The area where the dog was walking was the kennel area, there are signs up to watch out for sled dogs on the road and the speed is really slow through the entire park. They will ticket you. I do like that guy and walk on the opposite side of the road, so I can watch traffic, because people don't watch anymore. I love salmon. There were 3 or 4 salmon places to eat at back in the day. This King Salmon I can't remember. It was around this time when people started opening up Denali weather permitting. I didn't take any tours, I flew over in a Huey and Chanook. Its a really beautiful place to visit but its funny you should say this Mary. At times, it reminded me of Sleep Hallow. I was waiting for the 'horseman' to ride by on a moose. I've crossed country skied thru there several times over 3 years. 49th state brewing company looks really good. IF it was there when I was I was never went there but don't know when it started up. Meals there are still less expensive there then it is here in SoCal. So is the Gas. A beautiful video Ladies!
I love salmon too. I couldn't find any info on the restaurant opening at the Princess Lodge. We have stayed there a couple of times but only at there once and that was at the dinner show that they put on. I am sure by the next time we head down, everything will be open, it will be the holiday weekend. The horseman on a moose 🤣😨 now I will be looking for him, or maybe sasquatch, I can see that! I can see why that 49th State Brewery is so crowded all the time, the food was amazing. I think I gave up drinking for good, but they do have homemade brewed sodapop and do flights of them too! It is fairly new, it opened in 2016. Our fuel went down here, really unexpected for summer, it usually goes up. Thanks for tagging along ☺

Sherry and Mary, this was a Fantastic video. I watched it on my husbands feed with him (his second time watching it). You showed us things we did not know existed - how many times did we zip down the highway not aware of all of the restaurants and gifts stores behind the Princess hotel in Glitter Gulch ! You inspired us to take a day trip from Fairbanks down to the Park before Peony season has us down in the dirt for six weeks. We usually wait until the end of the Summer to get our 49th State Brewing fix (as Summers are busy for us). But watching this video and seeing you enjoy all of your yummy selections made us not want to wait. We had so much fun and even though everything was not open - that was just fine. Thank you. Oh I loved your music you selected to go with this it was Perfect ! Keep doing what you are doing, Kim (we met in Costco). This comment should have been on your other video, so sorry. But this one is fantastic too.

@@AlaskanBearsVlogs My husband and I own Northern Lights Peonies (5 mile Chena Hot Springs rd.) We will have peony bouquets available the first of July. You should come out and film when we have more colors in bloom and maybe go up to the Georgeson Garden and North Pole Peonies too. We do in town sales and large order wholesale via Alaska Airlines. We are not open to the public but would welcome you - our fields would be prettiest around July5th if things go as they have in the past.

Nice drive, wasn't thrilled seeing snow but that is what you get when going towards snowy mountain peaks. Good food and drinks. That dip with your pita breads looked delish! Funny birds by the roadside aren't used to the traffic.
It snowed in the same area coming and going. The food was delicious, the dip at 49th State Brewery was a Crab artichoke dip, it was really good 😋 The ptarmigan (our state bird) are in mating season, they were all over the place. Silly birds 😉

I’m catching up on videos. Great videos of the park. Looks like you had a great time and Mother’s Day.
The park road is 92 miles total, but I read that part of it is closed until 2026 for repairs due to a landslide. Still can’t believe they have widen the Parks to 4 lanes.

Hello! We had a great weekend. Mary and I have a few trips planned this summer. We had just talked to someone about the repairs and they said that's the plan, 2026. The Parks highway has all kinds of businesses now, it really needed to be 4 lanes, it's busy. The music at 7 minutes is called Mostly Cloudy by Heyson. Thank you, you have a great week too! 🌞🥰💖
