UNCLE~MR.ROBERT MARCELLO IS A FAVORITE GUITARIST OF MINE SINCE LIKE 2008....I EMULATE HIM...
Robert Marcello is an incredible talent
1st of all, Rob makes this thing sound better than any other demo on youtube. Secondly, it seems like the "magic" of this box is creating the right combo of sounds, not in the individual sounds by themselves.
+Rob N. Yes, he's a top player, which always helps with sounds. The patches, as they come, are pretty messed-up though - all over the place, numerically and it helps if you tweak them. One other thing he has tweaked is getting his guitar set up so that there are no mis-triggers (also, his playing will be modified not to do that).
If you get a GR-55, then mastering is not 'easy' at all - be prepared to put the time in, if you want it to sound like that.
Thank you for this!! This is a great 'capsule' introduction to the sounds and capabilities of the GR55. I SO want one of these....!!!
By far the best demo of all on this product! Superb musician!
Fantastico!! Greatest Demo ever, Rob.. I am BUYING it now man. Sure is gonna help a lot when you can't afford sidemen :) Loved your composition, you need to release your own album man!! DT
exceptional Rob !!!!!
Cool demo song. He always plays some good stuff of his own.
Ok this was the most amazing thing I've seen.
Rob was one of the best in the 80s with Danger Danger, and he used legendary Kramer guitars (barettas, and pacers)
Great videos, I really love your videos.
Really cool! Must have one!
Very good demonstrations of this fantastic guitar synthesizer. I last owned a GR-30 & one of the things I really get a kick out of is that the MIDI out from my new GR-55 can slave my old GR-30 and give me the tracking performance of the GR-55 PLUS the sounds of my old synth for no less than 5 sounds at the same time. I have YET to plug the MIDI into my EMU Proteus & EMU XL1 1-rack space sound modules but the performance is EXTREMELY promising.
Get a GR-55 - You will NOT be sorry you did.
Amazing!
Dude, you MUST work up a killer Christopher Walken impersonation, you're a natural: honest.
Next: the device seems extremely cool, one of these and an Axe FX II, and you're done.
Awesome Caparison!
Camarada Rob! SH!
He sounds like John Norum at 9:35 amazing-- plus everything else, of course.
great guitar player.
@alphasxsignal
I believe Rob was playing a Caparison guitar. Thanks for watching!

@rdt78
No, you must have a Roland-ready pickup installed in your guitar. You can't plug in using a regular 1/4 inch cable. Thanks for watching!

This guy is awesome
@alphasxsignal Caparison Dellinger 2... he had his custom painted and probably rewired with the synth pickup as well.. DiMarzio Tone Zone in the neck and Air Norton in the bridge.. Dean Markley 9-42 strings.. ;)
cool that is realy cool
@guitarbrian46 i think it does, you would have to go in the gr-55 and change the pickup type to gk-2a...
Is it possible to connect keyboard's MIDI-out to GR-55 MIDI-in and control the synth/pcm part of the GR-55?
Hello, would like to ask if there's a way to use a tube amp's tone for the real guitar sounds and switch or mix it with the synth sounds. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks!
What brand of guitar is that with the built in pickup for the GR-55
Just curious, I have a GR30 and use a GK2A. Will the GK2a work or would I have to upgrade to a GK3? Thanks.
@guitarbrian46
I don't know for sure. You might have to talk to Roland tech support for a definitive answer on this. Thanks for watching!

Rob i love your style ;p
So easy to see why Roland have this guy demoing their stuff. Rob is an incredible player, yet so entertaining with it. I am gonna buy a GR55GK3 very soon. Btw, is Rob in a band? He should be, and i would like to check it out. Cool guy... Thanks, Rob... \m/ (:o)

That Caparison guitar looks nice and I bet it plays nice. I wonder if the Godin LGXT is
as nice and plays aswell.
the drums is of the gr55?
That polka dot guitar looks like the one Vivian Cambell used to have?
Yeah, Rob's awesome. Check out the band Danger Danger for more great playing from Rob. Thanks for watching!

finallly...a way ,of ditching my obnoxious keyboard player, and making more room in the van for groupies! lol !
these roland guitar synthesisers must have been around for a long time because if anyone hhas seen the deep purple dvd come hell or high water ritchie blackmore uses one on his strat and that was filmed back in 1993
what a fabulous musician !! cant get my head round guitar synths tho.. dunno why.. maybe Im just prejudiced. Interesting possibilities though
9:19 - 9:35 pretty amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny, my favorite part was 9:35 - 9:50 :)
***** =)
Nice looking guitar, what is it? I play an Ibanez S470 and not sure wether to fit the pickup or buy the prewired strat, never owned a strat so may be an opportunity.
Caparison!
+Marc Shuttleworth buy the pick up ... its easy no damage fit to any guitar ... maybe have to cut the scratchplate on some strats .. but then you can move it between guitars
I heard the realistic piano and my jaw hit the coffee table under me.
7:35 I love what he's playing
I noticed that i have waited for 9:33
Superhit
is that Jerry Cantrell?
Roland GR 55 is the best...
Just skip to 7:34
I dont want the gr55 i just want that caparison guitar
Its a caparison...
and you know what is nice to? is when we actualy see your feet when you make a switch. So; you play nice box but we don`t get to see it. Just hear! Pretty stupid if you ask me!
There is wayyy too much taking in this video.
