  • HEAT ADVISORY has been extended until 8 pm Wednesday with heat index values near 105 expected. The threat is much bigger than normal with over 1 million Houstonians still without power from Hurricane Beryl. Try to find a cooling center and try not to overdo it with cleanup if you are still without A/C. There may be a little relief the next few afternoons with spotty showers and a few storms possible. Rain chances increase Friday through Sunday. So make sure you have a tarp for your roof if you sustained damage. At least there's no other tropical activity expected in the Atlantic the next few days.

At the coast, it was clocked at 105 mph before the eye wall came onshore....the storm Hurricane Hunters didn't fly again at the coast and report. It intensified there and the debris field proves it. Living 25 miles from land fall I can prove that no 80 mph gust to 100 mph did this, but more like 105-115mph CAT 2 maybe gusts to CAT 3 at the coast.. But this 50-80mph 😒was insulting for those of us in the wall. 😐
