it's not made SUPER clear in the video itself, but i'm pretty sure the main character is a trans guy who isn't out at the start of the video. the character list in the description lists him with he/him pronouns, and in the last shot before the rewind towards the end, right after the haircut, you can see him wearing something that i can only assume is a binder.
