I really need assistance, concerning the new semester, can you still rank up confidants in it? I havent looked into the new story yet, and I only know which confidants I needed to rank up. I also know some will be locked after november and have already taken care of that, but concerning the others like Shinya, your party, Ohya, ect, will you be able to rank them up during the third semester?
@Rozalin So I have the original persona 5, but I've noticed everyone on the internet is so obsessed with this Royal thing. So I just want to know if there is any reason that could make me want to buy this game when I already have the first one. Is this like a completely new game?? Or is it just like a deluxe edition?? Not only that, but Morgana and Haru sucked because you couldn't get their elemental weakness evasion skills until very late. Now you get an item that flat out negates all your weaknesses as well as Baton Pass, making these people immediately useful.
i managed to get kindness maxed out pretty easy before saes palce, but guts took me the longest, it definately helps having more free time at night in this version as well as being able to get the speed reader book early
For some reason my charm maxed out before knoweledge this time. But guts is like all stats pretty easy to max out, your options here just start late. At the beginning you have the death arcana as well as the bath house on rainy days, studying in the library or in the cafe. You can also buy a tv and watch dvds or movies in the Theater. Later you also get the video games and the maid cafe i think. As well as the sunday smoothies. Also there are books + speed reading 1. july. and in shinjuku you can buy special books for getting more points when watching a movie or making video games easier.
You can max out knoweledge pretty fast if you focus on that but i would recomend focusing on the other stats first because you get often like 1 point in guts and 2 points in knowelege if you go to the cafe or study in the library. and early on it is way harder to raise guts and kindness because the options are locked before may.
Personally I’d recommend grinding kindness since it’s the hardest stat I found to get naturally: You can typically get stats like Knowledge, Proficiency, Charm, and Guts relatively quickly from ranking up confidants like Yoshida, Iwai, and Hifumi, while you can only get Kindness from Sojiro, and even then you can’t progress Sojiro’s confidant past a certain point till you get Futaba and you eventually need max kindness to reach his final rank. And in terms of activities you raise Every stat but kindness but completing ranks in the Big Bang Burger Challenge and can earn earn skills by doing useful things like making coffee at leBlanc for SP items as raises charm, making thieves tools raises proficiency, while cleaning LeBlanc only increases kindness a tiny amount with absolutely no benefit.
It’s worth noting that some confidant events will increase a social stat a bit, such as Yoshida and Ohya giving a Charm boost, Sojiro and Shinya give Kindness, and so on. It’s worth choosing to hangout with a confidant that can raise a stat you need for another one, as opposed to an activity that that only raises that one stat and takes up a time slot. My recommendation as well as my strategy try to leave your teammates for august (its vacations) and December (your death) focus on confidants like yoshida iwai and ifumi as ur priorities since those are are very punctual and dont have as many spawns all other confidants are almost availalable
Personally I spend most of my time increasing confidants. When there’s a affection barrier I usually just give then a gift or two. Gifts work really well for sojiro. He has alot of barriers early on. His gifts are pretty pricey though.
How exactly do you give gifts? Do you just buy the item and it prompts you to offer it to them? Apologies if this is a dumb question, it’s my first time playing P5R and the places I’ve looked up about this aren’t very clear about it.

Royal makes this MUCH easier, even though there are 2 (effectively 3) new confidants. I've maximized all confidants in early December (except for Fool/Magician for story reasons) and spent like two weeks or so doing whatever I wanted, like hanging out with confidants for interactions/decorations, playing darts or listening to jazz with Yusuke. Feels good, man.
it's actually pretty easy, I made some mistakes, didn't use a guide for the dialogues which resulted in me having to hang out with people a bunch of times, and I still ended up maxing everyone as well as my social stats, early december.
Thank you for this. This helped me clear the confusion with Akechi. Too many guides keep saying wrong information about needing max knowledge. Also unrelated, I thought it was funny you need max kindness for Sojiro but then you still get kindness from him afterward. Anyone else notice that? Perhaps developer oversight?
Also, most of the confidants only have daytime/after school time slots to interact with (Almost 9!). Makoto, Yusuke, Futaba, Ann, Ryuji, Haru, Shinya, Mayruki, and Kasumi are only available during the day and when it's not raining. While Ohya, Chihaya, Iwai, Kawakami, and Mishima, and Akechi are at night slots. in order to max everyone before 12/22, from personal experience, make sure to use your daytime/after school time slots wisely to rank up daytime confidants and focus on social stats at night unless you have no one to hang out with during the daytime. I got to a point in November and December where I had too many free nights and ran out of night confidants to level up, and ended up training, working, and topping off my social stats, but unfortunately left too many daytimes only confidants too far behind to max out before 12/22. I felt I wasted too many daytime slots for trying to boost my social stats (such as studying after school, doing the Big Bang Burger Challenge, or working) when those all can be done on nights where you don't have anything. As a heads up, you have more free nights than you have free days to work with, so night time confidants are not a rush to get through. And in Royal, you want to get your team member confidants at Max 10 before the third semester starts.
7:45 I think this may be a mistake. Yoshida’s confidant needs you to talk to him during one of his speeches, go to the beef bowl shop to work after the speech, and talk to him after you’ve met each other at the beef bowl shop.
This was causing me alotta stress before cause I'm a Father of two and can really only play through these things once if I'm lucky lol. it's looking like I'm going to have a bit more freedom with my first playthrough than I thought I would...THANKS!
When I first played P5 in 2017, I was so friggin pissed to find out Sojiro rank 5 was locked until after august, because I spent SO MUCH TIME with him trying to rank up and couldn't figure out why he didn't want to!!! I wish the game put some kind of subtle hint in the dialogue that explained the date specifc deadlines/delays for the confidants, like how you can't even visit Maruki past rank 4 until September in Royal
Drat, I thought this was going to be a fast and loose guide to the order of Rank Up based on the most efficient order with the resources available to you at each stage of the game. I realize that is detailed in walkthrough guides but I'd much prefer a video on the general guidelines to keep in the back of my head. I'll never sit down with a Persona game and a step-by-step guide I have to consult every minute. I much prefer to figure out what I want to do and the best way to go about doing it in real time. That's the fun of it to me.
Thats a good way to do it. In vanilla P5 I pretty much had to figure things out. For Royal I'm following guides specifically for certain confidants. I plan maxing out all my stats to make any threshold easier.
My 1st playthrough is basically my "for fun." Playthrough like I did with the original. So just playing to enjoy it. My 2nd is gonna be a ng+ to beat the optional bosses. I might try this on my third playthrough. If I don't max them all in my current one. Which I probably won't.

@@Westy90_ just remember to have a persona of the same arcana and use a guide. You don't need to hang out with each confidant more than 10 times if you do that.
Hearing their names pronounced correctly sounds so weird. I have gotten so used to saying KaSUmi and MaKOto that hearing them as KAsumi and MAkoto is so weird.

You can rank up confidants as normal, so yes. You get the month of January starting from the 13. You get tier 3 Persona's by talking to teammates during the third semester, but I'm pretty sure they have to be max rank for that.
1. You can if they don't lock beforehand. 2. Not a lot for daytime slots; maybe like a week or so. You have much more freedom at night. 3. Assuming your party member's confidants are rank 10 going into the 3rd semester, talk to them as part of the story for the first few days of the 3rd semester.
@@RozalinGaming I've already maxed out Temp and Sun, I just need to finish Haru and Futaba's. Futaba is at rank 7 while Haru is rank 4. Would I still be able to finish them before getting their 3rd tier personas?
I think you can still rank up Haru's, but from my experience Futaba seems to be locked out and I couldn't find her in the overworld to progress toward her own confidant and Sojiro's. You only get around three weeks max, since the first week is cutscenes and mandatory exploration. Everyone except for Morgana, Kasumi, and Akechi required you to talk them again to unlock their third tier Persona. You can talk to Kasumi again and invite her to events after you max out her Confidant, but you are not going unlock her third tier until a certain date, and it's something that I would avoid doing if you still have confidants that required a daytime slot.

It’s super easy to max out confidants this time. You don’t need to try that hard and I’m so grateful. Everything royal has done has been for the better aside from Okumura’s Palace. It only got worse
Only the boss fight was worse for me. Everything else was about the same, or even slightly better for me. But the boss... Holy shit, did they over correct from super easy and anti-climactic, to just completely infuriating. That was the first boss in the series that made me rage quit and lower the difficulty just to stand a chance of winning.
I cheesed that fight by saving about 3 days beforehand and seeing what it was about and then making the 50 point items that knocked the robots down. Then all you have to do is have joker go first and use concentrate then have your other teammates knock the enemies down with the appropriate item then baton pass till it maxed out ending with joker. Then you just use the appropriate multi target weakness and you can almost one shot every round. The only one I didnt was the green ones and the big guy that uses that bs challenge attack
I feel like it’s best to go for the non party members for the first two palaces since we already have baton pass unlocked. I boosted my social stats up to the 4th palace and now I can get past most of the confidant social status gates from now on. One more big play that I personally did was to only do mementos runs when I have at least two confidant requests, so I can knock more out in less runs. It is possible!
Thanks as always for doing these! I’m on my first run and trying to max everyone out. I have a vague idea of how to manage it because I watched a pretty thorough LP of P5 and a lot of the social links have similar, if not the same, requirements as then, but I really appreciate you explaining exactly who needs what; it helps me figure out what I need to focus on next!
Bringing a specific persona when doing confidants early on is so tedious since you only start with 6 persona and more times then not you just dont have a persona of the correct arcana
Thank you so much for this video! I got Royal a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it very much! I'm very glad this video didn't have any major spoilers (or any I think LOL) because I've already been spoiled about some characters :( In my vanilla Persona 5 playthrough, I was only able to max out Igor, Morgana, Makoto (the girlfriend), Akechi, Takemi, Kawakami, Mishima, Yoshida, and Sae, with Igor, Morgana, Akechi, and Sae being automatic. I didn't even meet Shinya since I didn't know how to start his Confidant, and I think I was stuck at Rank 1 with the twins, Haru, and Futaba. This time I'll definitely be careful on what to do!
I have a question. I am in the ends of November, and since I can't go to school due to certain reasons.I can't trigger Kawakami's event, can I rank her up in the 3rd semester or am I doomed?
I have heard that if you dont get her to rank 5 before november 18th her social link locks and you cant progress. But I cant confirm this as I just saw it in some video or comment before. Just checked, it said rank 4 before december 22 if you want to romance her, and rank 5 before january 13th of the second year.
To all who posted, first good job Rozalin on this vid makes perfect sense. As to every new gamer you can max all confidents and social stats in one playthrough, I did that also maruki is only needed to reach max by that Nov date, akechi you want max to get the good ending and his 3rd tier persona it will happen on Feb 3rd as for kusumi getting her to 5 is easy, however neither is required for you to get into 3rd semester only maruki needs to be completed. ALso in my experience confidants you have yet to rank up to 10 you have plenty of time to rank up your night confidents in 3rd semester, your day ones get tricky if you want everyones 3rd tier persona and kasumi 2nd maxing her out. I would recommend you getting all daytime confidential maxed before 12/22 as you have less free time in 3rd semester doing the day unless you neglect 3rd tier personas. ALso remember maxing out confidence when you say goodbye to each of them will give an item that will unlock some or all of their abilities when you gain them again in NG+. My advice focus on day confidents before 3rd semester, as you have more free time at night.
On my first playthrough I maxed out my stats, but I failed to max out the social confidant stats. I thought I would have enough time after maxing out my stats first, but I was wrong because I didn't plan for certain lockouts from hanging out with certain people and didn't know about having Arcana persona boosts. I was like God damn, there's a lot more confidants than I thought by the end.
Ah, yeah, if you just focus on one you'll run out of time; gotta do both at the same time. If you do, you'll find that the game actually gives you plenty of time to do both in a single run.

My best advice for kindness is cleaning cafe: +2 kindness, +1 sojiro boost Charm, make coffee: sp coffee, +2 charm and 1-3 sojiro boost And guts: Big Bang burger, win a challenge and you get +1-3 on everything except kindness, doing Takemi confident first bc +1 with everything rank
Mijo Falco books give you the most by giving you 3 in its corresponding stat. make sure to have an unread book every night to read when morgana wont let you out at night. read the fast reading book so that you read twice as fast. remember that doing certain confidants also improve your star, so focus on doing confidants until their progress is stopped by stat requirements. watching cinema and juice stand on sundays is also a great boost that you shouldnt overlook knowledge -> getting the correct answers in class, studying when raining and studying before exams with friends proficiency -> making tools, iwai confidant, darts kindness -> sojiro and shinya, watering plant charm -> ohya, doing good on exams guts -> ur fucked on this one

Mijo Falco iirc you can buy the console in second hand store and the games from a game store in arahabaki. before reading cds and playing games make sure to read the books that increase stat gain from watching cds and a book that makes the minigame easier while playing games.

Yeah I would say that you are since there seems to be an even spread. But you may just come out short since you shouldn't be rank 1 with any confidant at this point if you managed time wisely. However, don't neglect Futaba. That Hermit rank 1 is troubling. Her skills are extremely useful. Also, prioritize Kawakami, Akechi, and Yoshida. Those are extremely limited. Kawakami especially saves you so much time than you normally wouldn't have.

Edit: Nevermind, apparently they took out the ability to do this in Royal. For Chihaya, you can do steps 1 and 2 in the same visit to save some time. It basically just cuts her intial rank down from 4 visits to 3, but that's still a time slot you could spend on another confidant or upping social stats.
I also noticed that a sound effect plays when you gain enough points to level them up when you hang out with them next. This also played for social stats too.

Panda Man basically all your previous personas, money, accessories and other key items are transferred over to a new save also you transfer the amount of hours you had that play through and some bosses will be accessible through ng+
When you start New Game Plus you keep everything you've logged in the Persona Compedium, social stats, a majority of your items including equipment and rank 10 Confidant items (possibly even the perma-pick but I haven't confirmed that), any money that you had by the end, as well as permanent stat changes. What this means is that any additional points you give to your party from the Jazz Club will carry over, and the moves you teach them at the Jazz Club will be available in the confessional as soon as you unlock Kanda. I believe that also includes the HP and SP buffs on Joker from various sources, but I'm not certain on that. There may be other things that carry over, but as I haven't finished my first run of P5R just yet I can't be sure what they are.
ng+ gives i think 1 optional new boss and you can fuse satanael. the rest is the same, so not realy a reason to play ng+ because there is no real challenge here anymore.
for end game i suggest fusing every persona that have the trait reduce 75% magic skill in each element, i.e. fuse odin to make him your thunder damaging persona, beelzebub for curse, chi you for psy, and so on. that way you can manage every enemy without the need of complicated fuse path for spell mastery which only grant 50% reduction on magic skills. i say this because the last palace in the third semester requires you to have a diverse persona composition, and only focusing on one op persona like making one invulnerable like yoshitsune is useless with almost every enemy repelling physical attacks. if you want a one stop shop persona for your endgame try making lucifer with drain/repel bless and just spam almighty skill of your choice, but i recommend not to do that since it would get really boring real quick.
for me doing the hamburger challenge and doing luck reading helped me max out social stats fast, but sadly i discovered that method late in the game and didnt get to max them all out in persona 5, but i think taking the challenge with your proficiency around 4 rank will be pretty good if used from early on
i think i actually might get all my confidants maxed out on my first run, just got all my stats maxed and most confidants done by the time i caught up to the prologue scene, just need to finish futaba, haru, shinya, iwai, ohya, and hifumi, and this is without using a guide and just relying on memory, and im still way ahead of my original p5 run lol
maxing out social stats and confidants is way easier than it was in p5. but there is also additional stuff that you can do now like darts, billiard, jazz club, temple that give different bonis so it is also wise to check that out as well.
wish i had seen this before i was 70 hours in the game!! i’m not doin too bad tho just started palace 6 and i maxed sun, moon, lovers, chariot, priestess, devil, and death. just worried i won’t finish justice before the time limit because he keeps telling me he’s busy!!! thanks for the guide so i know when he’s available!! also i think akechi needs rank 5 knowledge to max!
Well im stuck with vanilla P5 until i get my hands on a ps4 or atlus ports royal both of wich wont be happening these days, soooo max social stat farm it is
I gotta say, I have no idea how people had a hard time maxing them all (and the social stats) before 12/24. I just finished the game for the first time, without using any guide, and I had no issue completing them. I mean, all I did was hang out with whoever was available and prioritez whoever would rank up, and by the time I unlocked affinity reading, it became even easier...
If your prioritize confidants who are close to ranking up, it's easy. If you focus on raising social stats instead, you tend to "over invest" in social stats and screw yourself over. That's what happened when I played P5 for the first time.
I was kind of expecting you to add in the cut off dates for the ones that have hard ends. The Sun arcana for huge example. That guy is easily the most restrictive in the game and MUST be done pretty much every Sunday night from the moment you can unlock him.

@@Neohampster There are only 4 confidants that can completely lock before the end of the game. I didn't mention it because it didn't cross my mind while making the video and I didn't want to completely redo the video just to add a small section about those 4, so I added that info as well as a bunch of extra info in the description and put a pinned message in the comments to direct people to the info who wanted it.

What I usually just do is simply check the map for who is able to be ranked up that particular day. If not, mine in Mementos or go eat at big bang burger to increase my social stats. Since of course, most of the confidants require a certain social rank level.
Just beat the game today. Did much better than my first playthrough with P5 but still not 100% complete. The only ones I weren't able to max out were the Twins, Ohya, Shinya, and Yoshida. Plus I didn't get the 3rd Personas for Futaba, Yuske, and Kasumi/Sumire. And about 20-30 Personas I yet to try out. Definitely worth a 2nd playthrough.
So, the midway point for each confidant still has their requirements from Vanilla, but they no longer have the starting requirements of social stats? That's nice.
Thank you for the advice but I a different idea. First play through only focus on social stats with only doing mishima and kawakami. The second one is when I'll do all the confidants. It'll take more time I know but it feels much easier to do for me with the calander sistem.
gotta love the info yah post since it helps alot. hmm maybe a day by day playthrough guide that helps maximizing efficiency to max everything for both ng & ng+ playthroughs? unless yah did that already or are doing it atm.
How To Max All Confidants. Step 1: Chihaya. This woman is a fucking saint; that affection boost from her reading is almost always enough to break through any barrier in place, and if it's not? Don't bother spending time with the person, just do something more productive like a Social Stat and then visit Chihaya again the next day and you'll be ready. I made LOTS of mistakes in my playthrough, wasted tons of time early on doing unneccessary things and I still maxed all confidants, social stats and baton passes with time to spare. Towards the end I was spending 90% of my free time at the gym or Jazz club.
Somehow maxed out my starts on my GamePass playthrough, not doing the Royale content at all, and I managed to miss the max on 2 stats in my Steam playthrough. Debating playing the game over to try and get everything this time, as well as maxing out every confidamnt, which i have not managed so far
I picked up the Japanese release because I speak Japanese. In general I will pick up JP if it releases first, otherwise I get EN for streaming purposes.
Can anyone help me out? I’m trying to start working at the Beef Bowl to start the Sun Confidant, but I don’t see the job pamphlet for it at the pamphlet outlet in Shibuya. I read online that in Royal, the only day you can start working there is 5/6. I’m well into June at this point and am really hoping I didn’t miss the singular opportunity to start the Confidant line. Can anyone help? Also, I’m only at Proficiency 1, I know you need Proficiency 2 to get the job but I have to assume they’d at least show the option for Beef Bowl then say you don’t have a high enough Proficiency.
My biggest mistake was taking time after finding the treasure before sending the calling card. Cause you can't hand out with you teammates during that. Screwed me hard cause I wanted to do a Mementos run in between that to rank up before the boss.
All my stats are already at 4 I’ve just reached the deadline for medjed and I always beat my Palaces in 1 to 2 in-game days anyway to have more time to hang out, but my Kindness is at 3 still and I’m working on that rn kasumi is already maxed because she’s not hard to max but I’ve also been putting a little more time into doc and akechi and I’m already spending my time evenly with everybody so I should be good I’m pretty smart with time management also, and I always get the right dialogue option
I mentioned this in my Mementos changes video and my top tips video, but the best way to get money is to allocate you stamps in Mementos to money gained and then to either just kill mobs or use Ryuji's Insta-kill to kill them.
Man your guides really helped me but 11 days till february 3rd and I doubt I can get kasumi and shinya rank 10 by that point as they’re both rank 5 :( . Again thanks for these videos were very useful
I'm still going through Royal but it does seem easier than the vanilla game. Just the amount of extra evenings you get for stat boosting (since Morgana doesn't force you to sleep that much anymore) makes a massive difference. Same for those extra points when a confidant calls you right after interacting with them, that wasn't present in vanilla.
This is my situation atm with confidants now I’m on aside Morgana, Igor, Sae on November 13. Ryuji: Maxed Ann: Maxed Kawakami: Maxed Yoshida: Maxed Takemi: Maxed Ohya: Maxed Twins: 8-10 (can get them done) Yuseke: 6-10 Makoto: 7-10 Futaba: 5-10 Haru: 2-10 Akechi: 8-10 Maruki: 9-10 Yoshizawa: 4-5 Sojiro: 7-10 Mishima: 9-10 Chihya: 8-10 Shinya: 3-10 Iwai: 4-10 Hifumi: 5-10 Social stats knowledge: maxed, guts: 3, kindness: maxed, charm: maxed. I feel like I won’t be able to get them all maxed before 24 December, I’m not sure. But I’m confident I’ll get the third semester, but will I still have time to rank them up in the third semester though?
I've never been able to get gifts to work. Had to hangout with Kawakimi twice without her being ready for a level up, had two gifts that were on her list, but I wasnt prompted to give it to her.
Hey Rozalin. Idk if you have or not, but could you do a video explaining the best way of gaining a ton of EXP quickly? I know there are some other videos that do this, but your explanations make sense and are a lot easier to understand :)
I touch on this in my video covering Mementos changes but the easiest and quickest way is to allocate you stamps in Mementos towards XP and then to use Ryuji's Insta-kill on enemies.

i managed to get kindness maxed out pretty easy before saes palce, but guts took me the longest, it definately helps having more free time at night in this version as well as being able to get the speed reader book early

For some reason my charm maxed out before knoweledge this time. But guts is like all stats pretty easy to max out, your options here just start late. At the beginning you have the death arcana as well as the bath house on rainy days, studying in the library or in the cafe. You can also buy a tv and watch dvds or movies in the Theater. Later you also get the video games and the maid cafe i think. As well as the sunday smoothies. Also there are books + speed reading 1. july. and in shinjuku you can buy special books for getting more points when watching a movie or making video games easier.

Ah, for the tests, good thing I got a cheat sheet handy and focus on studying a lot for knowledge.
You can max out knoweledge pretty fast if you focus on that but i would recomend focusing on the other stats first because you get often like 1 point in guts and 2 points in knowelege if you go to the cafe or study in the library. and early on it is way harder to raise guts and kindness because the options are locked before may.
Personally I’d recommend grinding kindness since it’s the hardest stat I found to get naturally: You can typically get stats like Knowledge, Proficiency, Charm, and Guts relatively quickly from ranking up confidants like Yoshida, Iwai, and Hifumi, while you can only get Kindness from Sojiro, and even then you can’t progress Sojiro’s confidant past a certain point till you get Futaba and you eventually need max kindness to reach his final rank. And in terms of activities you raise Every stat but kindness but completing ranks in the Big Bang Burger Challenge and can earn earn skills by doing useful things like making coffee at leBlanc for SP items as raises charm, making thieves tools raises proficiency, while cleaning LeBlanc only increases kindness a tiny amount with absolutely no benefit.

It’s worth noting that some confidant events will increase a social stat a bit, such as Yoshida and Ohya giving a Charm boost, Sojiro and Shinya give Kindness, and so on. It’s worth choosing to hangout with a confidant that can raise a stat you need for another one, as opposed to an activity that that only raises that one stat and takes up a time slot.

My recommendation as well as my strategy try to leave your teammates for august (its vacations) and December (your death) focus on confidants like yoshida iwai and ifumi as ur priorities since those are are very punctual and dont have as many spawns all other confidants are almost availalable
Personally I spend most of my time increasing confidants. When there’s a affection barrier I usually just give then a gift or two. Gifts work really well for sojiro. He has alot of barriers early on. His gifts are pretty pricey though.
I personally found myself making coffee early on for affection and sp.
How exactly do you give gifts? Do you just buy the item and it prompts you to offer it to them? Apologies if this is a dumb question, it’s my first time playing P5R and the places I’ve looked up about this aren’t very clear about it.

Royal makes this MUCH easier, even though there are 2 (effectively 3) new confidants. I've maximized all confidants in early December (except for Fool/Magician for story reasons) and spent like two weeks or so doing whatever I wanted, like hanging out with confidants for interactions/decorations, playing darts or listening to jazz with Yusuke.

it's actually pretty easy, I made some mistakes, didn't use a guide for the dialogues which resulted in me having to hang out with people a bunch of times, and I still ended up maxing everyone as well as my social stats, early december.
Yes, you have time, the only thing you might have some issues with is if you also want to see all events.

Also unrelated, I thought it was funny you need max kindness for Sojiro but then you still get kindness from him afterward. Anyone else notice that? Perhaps developer oversight?
Little late of a reply but I like to think that the developers did that intentionally, mainly because it’s so dumb but so funny.
Also, most of the confidants only have daytime/after school time slots to interact with (Almost 9!). Makoto, Yusuke, Futaba, Ann, Ryuji, Haru, Shinya, Mayruki, and Kasumi are only available during the day and when it's not raining. While Ohya, Chihaya, Iwai, Kawakami, and Mishima, and Akechi are at night slots. in order to max everyone before 12/22, from personal experience, make sure to use your daytime/after school time slots wisely to rank up daytime confidants and focus on social stats at night unless you have no one to hang out with during the daytime. I got to a point in November and December where I had too many free nights and ran out of night confidants to level up, and ended up training, working, and topping off my social stats, but unfortunately left too many daytimes only confidants too far behind to max out before 12/22. I felt I wasted too many daytime slots for trying to boost my social stats (such as studying after school, doing the Big Bang Burger Challenge, or working) when those all can be done on nights where you don't have anything. As a heads up, you have more free nights than you have free days to work with, so night time confidants are not a rush to get through. And in Royal, you want to get your team member confidants at Max 10 before the third semester starts.

7:45 I think this may be a mistake. Yoshida’s confidant needs you to talk to him during one of his speeches, go to the beef bowl shop to work after the speech, and talk to him after you’ve met each other at the beef bowl shop.
You need to work TWICE at the bowl shop btw, but yeah its pretty much smooth sailing from there

When I first played P5 in 2017, I was so friggin pissed to find out Sojiro rank 5 was locked until after august, because I spent SO MUCH TIME with him trying to rank up and couldn't figure out why he didn't want to!!! I wish the game put some kind of subtle hint in the dialogue that explained the date specifc deadlines/delays for the confidants, like how you can't even visit Maruki past rank 4 until September in Royal

Drat, I thought this was going to be a fast and loose guide to the order of Rank Up based on the most efficient order with the resources available to you at each stage of the game.
I realize that is detailed in walkthrough guides but I'd much prefer a video on the general guidelines to keep in the back of my head.
I'll never sit down with a Persona game and a step-by-step guide I have to consult every minute. I much prefer to figure out what I want to do and the best way to go about doing it in real time. That's the fun of it to me.
Thats a good way to do it. In vanilla P5 I pretty much had to figure things out. For Royal I'm following guides specifically for certain confidants. I plan maxing out all my stats to make any threshold easier.
I mean, I dedicate the first half of the video to giving tips on raising your confidant ranks. There really isn't any faster way.
My 1st playthrough is basically my "for fun." Playthrough like I did with the original. So just playing to enjoy it.
My 2nd is gonna be a ng+ to beat the optional bosses.
I might try this on my third playthrough. If I don't max them all in my current one. Which I probably won't.
Social Stats carry over to NG+, so even if you play the first round for fun, it is super easy to max out all confidants on your second playthrough

Thank you for this! Very new to the persona series and after failing to max all the social links I wanted in P3P, I was racking my brain to make sure I got Royal right. This and your other videos will be a big help!
I have a few questions:
1, Can you finish party member confidants during the new semester?
2. How much free time do I have to do so?
3. How do you get third tier personas? (Answer it in a way that doesn't spoil major plot)
You can rank up confidants as normal, so yes. You get the month of January starting from the 13. You get tier 3 Persona's by talking to teammates during the third semester, but I'm pretty sure they have to be max rank for that.
1. You can if they don't lock beforehand.
2. Not a lot for daytime slots; maybe like a week or so. You have much more freedom at night.
3. Assuming your party member's confidants are rank 10 going into the 3rd semester, talk to them as part of the story for the first few days of the 3rd semester.

I think you can still rank up Haru's, but from my experience Futaba seems to be locked out and I couldn't find her in the overworld to progress toward her own confidant and Sojiro's. You only get around three weeks max, since the first week is cutscenes and mandatory exploration. Everyone except for Morgana, Kasumi, and Akechi required you to talk them again to unlock their third tier Persona. You can talk to Kasumi again and invite her to events after you max out her Confidant, but you are not going unlock her third tier until a certain date, and it's something that I would avoid doing if you still have confidants that required a daytime slot.

It’s super easy to max out confidants this time. You don’t need to try that hard and I’m so grateful. Everything royal has done has been for the better aside from Okumura’s Palace. It only got worse
Only the boss fight was worse for me. Everything else was about the same, or even slightly better for me. But the boss... Holy shit, did they over correct from super easy and anti-climactic, to just completely infuriating. That was the first boss in the series that made me rage quit and lower the difficulty just to stand a chance of winning.

I cheesed that fight by saving about 3 days beforehand and seeing what it was about and then making the 50 point items that knocked the robots down. Then all you have to do is have joker go first and use concentrate then have your other teammates knock the enemies down with the appropriate item then baton pass till it maxed out ending with joker. Then you just use the appropriate multi target weakness and you can almost one shot every round. The only one I didnt was the green ones and the big guy that uses that bs challenge attack
I feel like it’s best to go for the non party members for the first two palaces since we already have baton pass unlocked. I boosted my social stats up to the 4th palace and now I can get past most of the confidant social status gates from now on. One more big play that I personally did was to only do mementos runs when I have at least two confidant requests, so I can knock more out in less runs. It is possible!
Started my second playthrough and all i know is that summer will be a godsend for a majority of the confidants

Bringing a specific persona when doing confidants early on is so tedious since you only start with 6 persona and more times then not you just dont have a persona of the correct arcana

In my vanilla Persona 5 playthrough, I was only able to max out Igor, Morgana, Makoto (the girlfriend), Akechi, Takemi, Kawakami, Mishima, Yoshida, and Sae, with Igor, Morgana, Akechi, and Sae being automatic. I didn't even meet Shinya since I didn't know how to start his Confidant, and I think I was stuck at Rank 1 with the twins, Haru, and Futaba. This time I'll definitely be careful on what to do!
I have a question. I am in the ends of November, and since I can't go to school due to certain reasons.I can't trigger Kawakami's event, can I rank her up in the 3rd semester or am I doomed?
Yeah you can and the evenings are mostly free from what I can see
I have heard that if you dont get her to rank 5 before november 18th her social link locks and you cant progress. But I cant confirm this as I just saw it in some video or comment before. Just checked, it said rank 4 before december 22 if you want to romance her, and rank 5 before january 13th of the second year.

To all who posted, first good job Rozalin on this vid makes perfect sense. As to every new gamer you can max all confidents and social stats in one playthrough, I did that also maruki is only needed to reach max by that Nov date, akechi you want max to get the good ending and his 3rd tier persona it will happen on Feb 3rd as for kusumi getting her to 5 is easy, however neither is required for you to get into 3rd semester only maruki needs to be completed. ALso in my experience confidants you have yet to rank up to 10 you have plenty of time to rank up your night confidents in 3rd semester, your day ones get tricky if you want everyones 3rd tier persona and kasumi 2nd maxing her out. I would recommend you getting all daytime confidential maxed before 12/22 as you have less free time in 3rd semester doing the day unless you neglect 3rd tier personas. ALso remember maxing out confidence when you say goodbye to each of them will give an item that will unlock some or all of their abilities when you gain them again in NG+. My advice focus on day confidents before 3rd semester, as you have more free time at night.

On my first playthrough I maxed out my stats, but I failed to max out the social confidant stats. I thought I would have enough time after maxing out my stats first, but I was wrong because I didn't plan for certain lockouts from hanging out with certain people and didn't know about having Arcana persona boosts. I was like God damn, there's a lot more confidants than I thought by the end.
Ah, yeah, if you just focus on one you'll run out of time; gotta do both at the same time. If you do, you'll find that the game actually gives you plenty of time to do both in a single run.
I noticed that when you have reached the amount of affection needed to raise a confidant's rank, the affection notes make a little sound.

Mijo Falco books give you the most by giving you 3 in its corresponding stat. make sure to have an unread book every night to read when morgana wont let you out at night. read the fast reading book so that you read twice as fast. remember that doing certain confidants also improve your star, so focus on doing confidants until their progress is stopped by stat requirements. watching cinema and juice stand on sundays is also a great boost that you shouldnt overlook
knowledge -> getting the correct answers in class, studying when raining and studying before exams with friends
proficiency -> making tools, iwai confidant, darts
kindness -> sojiro and shinya, watering plant
charm -> ohya, doing good on exams
guts -> ur fucked on this one

Yeah I would say that you are since there seems to be an even spread. But you may just come out short since you shouldn't be rank 1 with any confidant at this point if you managed time wisely. However, don't neglect Futaba. That Hermit rank 1 is troubling. Her skills are extremely useful. Also, prioritize Kawakami, Akechi, and Yoshida. Those are extremely limited. Kawakami especially saves you so much time than you normally wouldn't have.

For Chihaya, you can do steps 1 and 2 in the same visit to save some time. It basically just cuts her intial rank down from 4 visits to 3, but that's still a time slot you could spend on another confidant or upping social stats.

Panda Man basically all your previous personas, money, accessories and other key items are transferred over to a new save also you transfer the amount of hours you had that play through and some bosses will be accessible through ng+
When you start New Game Plus you keep everything you've logged in the Persona Compedium, social stats, a majority of your items including equipment and rank 10 Confidant items (possibly even the perma-pick but I haven't confirmed that), any money that you had by the end, as well as permanent stat changes. What this means is that any additional points you give to your party from the Jazz Club will carry over, and the moves you teach them at the Jazz Club will be available in the confessional as soon as you unlock Kanda. I believe that also includes the HP and SP buffs on Joker from various sources, but I'm not certain on that. There may be other things that carry over, but as I haven't finished my first run of P5R just yet I can't be sure what they are.
ng+ gives i think 1 optional new boss and you can fuse satanael. the rest is the same, so not realy a reason to play ng+ because there is no real challenge here anymore.

Can someone tell me how to get op ass attacks like almighty or severe damage
for end game i suggest fusing every persona that have the trait reduce 75% magic skill in each element, i.e. fuse odin to make him your thunder damaging persona, beelzebub for curse, chi you for psy, and so on. that way you can manage every enemy without the need of complicated fuse path for spell mastery which only grant 50% reduction on magic skills. i say this because the last palace in the third semester requires you to have a diverse persona composition, and only focusing on one op persona like making one invulnerable like yoshitsune is useless with almost every enemy repelling physical attacks. if you want a one stop shop persona for your endgame try making lucifer with drain/repel bless and just spam almighty skill of your choice, but i recommend not to do that since it would get really boring real quick.

for me doing the hamburger challenge and doing luck reading helped me max out social stats fast, but sadly i discovered that method late in the game and didnt get to max them all out in persona 5, but i think taking the challenge with your proficiency around 4 rank will be pretty good if used from early on
i think i actually might get all my confidants maxed out on my first run, just got all my stats maxed and most confidants done by the time i caught up to the prologue scene, just need to finish futaba, haru, shinya, iwai, ohya, and hifumi, and this is without using a guide and just relying on memory, and im still way ahead of my original p5 run lol
maxing out social stats and confidants is way easier than it was in p5. but there is also additional stuff that you can do now like darts, billiard, jazz club, temple that give different bonis so it is also wise to check that out as well.

wish i had seen this before i was 70 hours in the game!! i’m not doin too bad tho just started palace 6 and i maxed sun, moon, lovers, chariot, priestess, devil, and death. just worried i won’t finish justice before the time limit because he keeps telling me he’s busy!!! thanks for the guide so i know when he’s available!! also i think akechi needs rank 5 knowledge to max!

I gotta say, I have no idea how people had a hard time maxing them all (and the social stats) before 12/24. I just finished the game for the first time, without using any guide, and I had no issue completing them. I mean, all I did was hang out with whoever was available and prioritez whoever would rank up, and by the time I unlocked affinity reading, it became even easier...
If your prioritize confidants who are close to ranking up, it's easy. If you focus on raising social stats instead, you tend to "over invest" in social stats and screw yourself over.
That's what happened when I played P5 for the first time.

I was kind of expecting you to add in the cut off dates for the ones that have hard ends. The Sun arcana for huge example. That guy is easily the most restrictive in the game and MUST be done pretty much every Sunday night from the moment you can unlock him.

@@Neohampster There are only 4 confidants that can completely lock before the end of the game. I didn't mention it because it didn't cross my mind while making the video and I didn't want to completely redo the video just to add a small section about those 4, so I added that info as well as a bunch of extra info in the description and put a pinned message in the comments to direct people to the info who wanted it.

I managed to max all my stats in my first playthrough, however I still have a handful of confidants to max and I already defeated Shido.
What I usually just do is simply check the map for who is able to be ranked up that particular day. If not, mine in Mementos or go eat at big bang burger to increase my social stats. Since of course, most of the confidants require a certain social rank level.
Just beat the game today. Did much better than my first playthrough with P5 but still not 100% complete. The only ones I weren't able to max out were the Twins, Ohya, Shinya, and Yoshida. Plus I didn't get the 3rd Personas for Futaba, Yuske, and Kasumi/Sumire. And about 20-30 Personas I yet to try out. Definitely worth a 2nd playthrough.
I can't believe of all trophies I've missed in my p5 trophies itss be books and requests I've likely on track for everything else
So, the midway point for each confidant still has their requirements from Vanilla, but they no longer have the starting requirements of social stats? That's nice.
Thank you for the advice but I a different idea. First play through only focus on social stats with only doing mishima and kawakami. The second one is when I'll do all the confidants.
It'll take more time I know but it feels much easier to do for me with the calander sistem.

hmm maybe a day by day playthrough guide that helps maximizing efficiency to max everything for both ng & ng+ playthroughs? unless yah did that already or are doing it atm.

Step 1: Chihaya.
This woman is a fucking saint; that affection boost from her reading is almost always enough to break through any barrier in place, and if it's not? Don't bother spending time with the person, just do something more productive like a Social Stat and then visit Chihaya again the next day and you'll be ready.
I made LOTS of mistakes in my playthrough, wasted tons of time early on doing unneccessary things and I still maxed all confidants, social stats and baton passes with time to spare.
Towards the end I was spending 90% of my free time at the gym or Jazz club.
I was following this video and I didn’t know that Yoshida locks in November...should probably add that info for the future

Somehow maxed out my starts on my GamePass playthrough, not doing the Royale content at all, and I managed to miss the max on 2 stats in my Steam playthrough. Debating playing the game over to try and get everything this time, as well as maxing out every confidamnt, which i have not managed so far

Can anyone help me out? I’m trying to start working at the Beef Bowl to start the Sun Confidant, but I don’t see the job pamphlet for it at the pamphlet outlet in Shibuya. I read online that in Royal, the only day you can start working there is 5/6. I’m well into June at this point and am really hoping I didn’t miss the singular opportunity to start the Confidant line. Can anyone help? Also, I’m only at Proficiency 1, I know you need Proficiency 2 to get the job but I have to assume they’d at least show the option for Beef Bowl then say you don’t have a high enough Proficiency.
My biggest mistake was taking time after finding the treasure before sending the calling card. Cause you can't hand out with you teammates during that. Screwed me hard cause I wanted to do a Mementos run in between that to rank up before the boss.
All my stats are already at 4 I’ve just reached the deadline for medjed and I always beat my Palaces in 1 to 2 in-game days anyway to have more time to hang out, but my Kindness is at 3 still and I’m working on that rn kasumi is already maxed because she’s not hard to max but I’ve also been putting a little more time into doc and akechi and I’m already spending my time evenly with everybody so I should be good I’m pretty smart with time management also, and I always get the right dialogue option

I mentioned this in my Mementos changes video and my top tips video, but the best way to get money is to allocate you stamps in Mementos to money gained and then to either just kill mobs or use Ryuji's Insta-kill to kill them.
Man your guides really helped me but 11 days till february 3rd and I doubt I can get kasumi and shinya rank 10 by that point as they’re both rank 5 :( . Again thanks for these videos were very useful
They must have made it easier in Royal, cause I maxed everyone on my first run with no issue...
I'm still going through Royal but it does seem easier than the vanilla game. Just the amount of extra evenings you get for stat boosting (since Morgana doesn't force you to sleep that much anymore) makes a massive difference. Same for those extra points when a confidant calls you right after interacting with them, that wasn't present in vanilla.

Nzonk460 there is something wrong in what you said you need guts 4 to start Iwai confidant and you said you have him rank 3? You must be confused mate
I've never been able to get gifts to work. Had to hangout with Kawakimi twice without her being ready for a level up, had two gifts that were on her list, but I wasnt prompted to give it to her.
Hey Rozalin. Idk if you have or not, but could you do a video explaining the best way of gaining a ton of EXP quickly? I know there are some other videos that do this, but your explanations make sense and are a lot easier to understand :)
