- Move over, Tesla and Waymo. The first self-driving robotaxis in China are being rolled out on the streets of tech hub Shenzhen.
Bloomberg's Allen Wan and AutoX CEO "Professor X" take a Chrysler minivan for a spin in an industrial suburb. Clogged with trucks and wayward drivers, we find out how safe and convenient the company's robotaxi service really is.
Buckle up.

Wow.... the first company that depelov a Autonomus type 3....
Imagine trying to steal this car 🚗then it drives you in to the police station 🚉😐🤣🤣
"Should I be nervous?" - "Yes!" :D
Is this service geo-fenced? I heard Waymo is restricted to already approved paths in the Phoenix area. It is very interesting how this car can maneuver around parked cars.
Yes, all of these are Geo-Fenced
It's cool, but there is barely any traffic.
A multi billion company coming on the horizon. Why is the Uber and others not adopting this system?
I have my doubts since it is china. Everything that comes out that country is often to good to be true.
They are literally working on it and just can't get it done.
Regulatory
In China, they don't care as much, so they break through red tape faster.
They are plying this vehicle on the same street every time... Saw couple of videos...
Amazing!
Thats Velodyne Lidar!
Yes your right new normal
It's wasn't Waymo that was having the accidents. It was Cruise in San Francisco.
Try and bring This to the USA and the on first day on the job the robo taxi will be vandalised or ( if ice) the catalytic converter will be stolen (if EV) the battery will be stolen.
We already have Waymo in Phoenix, Arizona, no issues as you described.
*Vandalism and theft happens in many parts of the world. It's not ONLY exclusive in the US dude wow -facepalms-...........................*
@@officialyasir*Yas I agree no issues as described. Fred sounds like a typical person from another country stereotyping the US without having actually LIVED there at all.*
@@JinsKookieJams I will graciously take the apology. Of course I am not waiting. czcams.com/video/XPbd-4hfXY8/video.html. It is ok I know human nature and will not face plant.
@@officialyasir Jin never apologized to me yet. czcams.com/video/XPbd-4hfXY8/video.html. I assume you will not be?
Is this a level 5 self driving vehicle ? Does it require a special license to operate in Shenzhen ?
If it's geofenced it can be L4 at best.
@@doom9698 Is AutoX from Shenzhen also Geofenced ? Is that similar to Waymo which is probably geofenced too ? czcams.com/video/swwdaKotXT8/video.html
Not even close to L5
Yes, only operates in a district in Shenzhen that has been designated as a testing ground for autonomous driving.
It's a level 3 self driving...
It's a start but let's see how it does during those crazy traffic jams in China where you are bumper to bumper while pedestrians are jay walking, jumping over railings, etc. Another thing that gets me, why bother w/ a "steering wheel"??? A game pad seem more logical for manual takeover during emergencies???
It's by law
I don't know how well I could relax if I'm putting my life into the hands of a robot. I would only allow self driving on a limited basis like when its following another car or emergency situations
They need to put a lidar in the rear of the van.
the US is phucked...
What work will human do if technology keep on increasing?
some other work and it will be upgraded humans that do it
And they want to keep investing in tesla...funneled & still trash...
Awesome 😎
Time to buy Chinese equities and invest in China
LOL, so the CCP can sieze assets? Look at what happened to Ant group / alibaba, and how tencent is paying huge amounts of money to CCP initiatives.
You'd have to me an idiot to invest in China.
I would not invest in any chinese company!!!
The future is right here, in China.
A true Tesla FSD competitor in China
Nah i don’t consider them a competitor to Tesla but they can be with waymo
Autox have a Autonomus level of 3, Tesla have a Autonomus level of 2
@@damianjf6357 waymo is not in the same league as tesla. that's a fact that will become very obvious in the coming months
Mapping and Lidar? 🤣
Waymo caused 1 accident at 5 km/hour after 8 million kilometers... but a normal human would already have 20 accidents. This is not good enough for our planet it seems???
AutoX that's exactly what Tesla would be called if musk actually founded it.
Hello safer roads. Bye bye jobs...
Can't imagen current auto owners ever wanting to share, possibly contaminated, spaces like the interior of a car. Its okay as a cab if you have no other choice. I know it isn't my families preference.
Kathy saw this video and then dumped millions of TSLA stocks.
Google's Waymo is better
Jajaja no... google Wayne onmy hace a Autonomus level 2, Autox hace a level 3
"Tesla is far ahead in data" cathie wood. Please jail her.
Get off ur phone dude :/
