He's right about the 4 or 5 mistakes. Brock tries to flip it through multiple Oilers. Miller gets out of position, trying to get the flip, and then sort of glides back into position. Lindholm is gliding around and getting to every spot late. The puck goes out to the point, and nobody makes a serious attempt to block the shot. So fu!@ing lazy. The team worked their butts off to get back into the game and then just let the Oilers take it away in the last minute. Credit the Oilers, but the Canucks gave this away. I swear if Pettersson put in half the effort Garland does, he would be putting up points. The guy doesn't look engaged at times. He looks like he's on the porch swing looking at a sunset half the time. Get in the game. If I were Rick, I would consider getting Ilya out of there. He's not useless, but it's pretty close. He doesn't look fast anymore. He has no hands, no scoring ability, and plays soft hockey. On top of it, he doesn't look like he's giving 100%. You hate to throw players under the bus, but Rick is right. There were players who were passengers. Garland was full of energy and was making things happen. The passengers collectively put in less half the effort he did in this game. It really is unacceptable this time of the year.

Canucks have to simply attack in pairs in the Oilers zone and use give-and-goes more so their arrival times @ the net are correctly synched. Perimeter shots hoping for tips is not working and is actually to low % of a shot choice for how loosely you are managing possessions, if you want to keep vollying the puck back and forth looking for errors you have to at least get it to the net with a slim chance of scoring on your first shots.....stop just accepting rebounds off of perimeter shots, is to predictable, especially if you keep vollying it away remember 30% of those possessions have to be skated to the net or you will never draw a call, and skated to the net with the intention of scoring not just doing drive-bys.
Oilers keep shooting blocker side on Silovs!, he's weak there. The data is in! We beat him clean 9 times on that side this series so far but unfortunately 3 of those rang the post. He's stopping most of the shots glove side, lots of nice pad saves but lots of shots just hitting him in the crest. He goes down a lot and sprawls so lets get more shots and crash the net for rebounds, put the puck upstairs when he's down.

We’ve been dominating the Canucks offensively, and you guys have been playing average defense with a 3rd string who had a good game. We’re patching up our mistakes much faster than you guys will. Oilers will take it in 6. They are just a better team at this point in time. The Canucks surprised us, but they aren’t good enough to win this series.
