Hina Hayata is such a great representative of Japanese table tennis. Humble, hard working, and incredibly skilled, she's the only non-Chinese woman to win a singles medal at this year's World Championship and Asian Games. Can't wait to see her in Paris! Let's go Hina!
No have Ito mima 😢!!
No
You re wrong
For female players
There were Hirano came to the peak and beat Sun Yingsha
@@forever2005 Miu Hirano is also a great representative for Japan for the same reasons I mentioned above. Both can be true. I'm not wrong because I said Hayata was the only non-Chinese to medal at this year's *World Championship* and *Asian Games*. Hirano lost to WYD -7,-12,-9,-11 at the WC and to Pyon Songgyong -7,7,-10,4,-5,-8 at the Asian Games. I support both Hayata and Hirano!

I hope great players like her can help promote the sport. I heard table tennis is EXTREMELY unpopular in Japan, just like in every other country. But players like her can make the sport a bit less unpopular.
How can it be unpopular and yet practiced so widely and at high level in Japanese schools? I think what you refer to is its relative "unpopularity" as a spectator sport in comparison to baseball, football, sumo wrestling, basketball, tennis, and other sports that are either easier to follow, are more traditionally grounded or have more international "prestige". (Competing men's sports also explain why women's TT better than men's TT in Japan.)
I don't think the Chinese model of TT culture (and hegemony) can be expected to ever take root outside China. I wonder if it's even sustainable in China itself, where the public laments lack of success in football vs TT. More Chinese TT coaches going abroad could help raise the international level, prestige and appeal of the sport, but there are still too many restrictions on who is allowed to do that and how soon after quitting/retiring from their coaching job in China. In Japan itself, there are restrictions on coaches who don't take Japanese citizenship. There are probably many doctoral theses to write about the sociology/anthropology/history of TT in Asia. I'll end here, before my post becomes a thesis. LOL!
I never understood why it's not world wide popular. such a beautiful sport with an amazing strong strikes and great tempo
@@UUSER142 it’s extremely popular worldwide with players of all age groups and genders. Tt clubs easily are among the most popular sports facilities in many countries. It’s just extremely unpopular with the media, British and American media, specifically, which control most people’s perception of what is popular, and which athletes to worship. You will never find any coverage of table tennis in the media, never. But in the 90s, there were often coverage. I remember watching waldner on TV. But in the last 20 years. Zero coverage.
The media controls people’s perception. You don’t need to drive a car to be familiar with those F1 racers, because the media keep bombarding you with the news, making you feel like it’s something significant, and the drivers are some special people you should idolize and worship. And of course, you should worship the products they endorsed.
It’s all because of racism. Tt has been completely dominated and taken over by people of a different race. For the European and American media, there is absolutely zero interest, political and financial, in hyping people up about table tennis that has been completely dominated by another group of people.

Such a long highlight for the non-Chinese player. ITTF you thought Hina could win those Chinese queens? What a joke.
have some respect for Hina and don't be toxic
What a stupid comment
Hina not only wins, she inspires. Joke's on you. Cheer up!
I'm Chinese, and Hina is my favorite player. Sorry for your queens.
@@Jen-er7jcI am Japanese. Hina will never win against the queens.
