Tuna Expedition Oman | Daiwa BG

It is currently Yellow Fin Tuna season in Salalah, a region located in the southern part of Oman. Me and a group of experienced Green anglers to test our luck this season. The strength of our fishing setup is crucial when it comes to catching tuna, especially considering their enormous size. If we are fortunate, we might catch a tuna weighing between 40 to 100 kg. Proper setup is necessary to catch such a monstrous fish as they can weigh more than 50 kg and put up a strong fight against us while also dealing with the added pressure of water.
Our journey will begin from Salalah city to Hasik, a distance of approximately 200 kilometers. We will spend one night in Hasik to prepare our fishing gear, and then depart for Al Halaniyath Island the following morning at 8 AM. The goal is to locate dolphins as they can help us find the tuna we are looking for. Our encounter with the dolphins will mark the beginning of the game.
