    This is in the running for one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.

    When my choir did that we were much more aggressive,
    I’m not used to this chill version, I like it.

    Beautiful, poignant, and dramatic performance. The right pace, the right accoustics, and the right balance between the different voices (neither too top-heavy, like many choirs, nor muddy in the lower voices), allow this wonderful piece to bloom and swell in our hearts

    I sang this in high school for Texas all-state choir in 1980. This is a beautiful performance, and it brought back memories.

    When I heard those powerful and nicely resonating F2s I was really looking forward to the C2 at the end. It's quite a pity that no one got down there

    • @dihydrogenmonoxide5994
      @dihydrogenmonoxide5994 Před 4 lety +1

      I’m not sure, but I think a couple of them may have sung it. I can’t actually “hear” the note, per se, but I can sort of make out the overtones that would suggest that a C2 was sung. Take my words with a grain of salt, though. I am not a professional.

    • @jerroldtidwell
      @jerroldtidwell Před 4 lety

      It's there. I have a full-on professional set up - the overtones, everything. It's there.

    • @grahamdalbymusic
      @grahamdalbymusic Před 4 lety +1

      Please explain what a C2 is or an F2 for that matter. American is so different from English, you don't have crotchets or quavers and the like.

    • @petergates2942
      @petergates2942 Před 4 lety

      An F2 is the second F below middle C. A C2 is two octaves below middle C. You can find more information on this naming system here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_pitch_notation
