ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I’ve had mine for a while and I love it. The cell shading is subtle enough that it really doesn’t distract, just makes the character pop. The head sculpt is probably my favourite Wolverine headsculpt so far. It looks dead on to both the 80s/90s comics and the 90s cartoon.
I preordered this the second it popped up on Pulse. Absolutely love everything about the figure. Originally thought I would have preferred a window package, but this packaging is very convenient for re-storage after opening, you can do all that without worry of damaging anything so it still looks new. Then you sold me with mentioning the larger version VHS thing/being a kid again. This one knocked nostalgia AND memes out of the park.
90s animated Wolverine is the best there is. This is the exact figure I've wanted since the 90s. No other Wolverine figure compares. LOVE IT.

Great review, I couldn’t agree more. This is by far the best looking wolverine figure in my entire collection. My paint apps were actually off though. It was sloppy there were black paint marks in some places where they shouldn’t be like on the side of the boot, still the nicest looking wolverine I have by far. Very funny conjecture about cyclops and wolverine. Love the still frame fastball special with colossus in the end! Nice touch
Not a fan of the cell shading, I prefer my figures to blend together. Also the packaging is a letdown, wish it was done like Transformers Draculus

You're the best at what you do, bub. All these Wolverines are cool, but I'd like to see a Dark Claw. Hasbro and McFarlane should make Amalgam characters and release their own versions.
I acetoned off the "cel shading" and made him my main Wolverine, replacing Love Triangle. I really like the blue they used for this one, plus the head.
I got two so I might have to do that to one of mines lol
Probably a dumb question, but does using acetone on the cell shaded parts require repainting?
How did you get it off the torso without removing the black tiger stripes?
While acetone is often used as a paint remover, it is so heavy duty that it would absolutely damage the plastics if you're not careful. I just put dude with my X-Men as he comes. A couple steps back and it doesn't look weird at all.

I've yet to buy these but I really like them. As a youngster, I was all about the X-Men, Spider-Man, and Batman Animated Series, as well as Transformers (although it came out a few years before I was born). I'm not really a nostalgic person but these figures are awesome.
That Wolverine 90s figure is the Best action figure ever. I would love to see this Wolverine with the classic Hulk figure. That would be sick.
I will admit the head sculpt does look good. I would kitbash my other Wolverine figures with it.
I'm laughing though because this new one is just a repainted kit bash with a new head. I want to tell you to just get it for yourself because the claws are also awesome. But for some reason he's freaking $28...

I might be confused about how this works but I think that to bring the costs down you would have to add a bunch more plastic to the packaging and then sculpt a new unique figure.
This is the best ML Tiger Stripe Wolverine by far. I bought two of them, the shading is very easy to remove with a magic eraser and lots non-acetone remover.

Nice review bro! As far as HOBGOB, I have the previous one and the toybiz one, they are all ya need if you can find for a good price. Well not you shart, I mean in general, I know you own them lol. I love big ears on the Wolvy, I hate to say it because we have so many and they are getting better and better, but we still need a definitive Wolvy fig. No pin holes, knuckle pieces for the claws and those better claws etc. I have slowed way down on buying characters like Wolvy, only because of space and money, I am a sick man and still want to own them all if I could lol.
I got this figure second hand recently for about 25 bucks and it came with the box and all the accessories and I absolutely love it man, especially since this is my first legends Wolverine as I could never seem to get my hands on any of the other tiger stripe wolverines. The only issue I have is the extra hands to hold the photo are both left hands but other then that it’s an amazing figure
Wolverine is def one of my favorite characters but yeah they made him kinda creepy when it came to Jean lol

Hasbro sure has got a lot out of this unique buck. It works. Yet their initial attempt at cell shading requires additional artistic work. The alternative hands don't have the stems and fingers which is a bitter pill to swallow. Yet the biggest reason why I won't get this is at nearly $40 CAN$ it sin't worth it.
The wrong hands are just unforgivable when Hasbro wants to charge us a premium.

Yeah this one is aggressively not for me I don't like a single thing about it. That said I'm glad it's out there for people who didn't get a proper Wolverine or who were fans of that show.
I love the cell shading, I hope they do more. Really pops! Makes me miss actual paint apps on figures. I hate the incels hating on the cell shading though.. whining because they are too cheap or impatient to wait for the obvious regular rereleases of all these figures over the next year or two.

So....is that Hobgoblin a "Big time, let down Hobgoblin"? And the figure is very nice, but yeah....they dropped the ball with the alternate hands. Seeing the fingernails was my first thought as well when I saw that. I was like, "Hasbro....c'mon!" I did grow up with the Animated X-Men of the 90's, and I might get it. A good review though!

The Hobgoblin isn't the animated version though. The animated version had a non-torn cape and a different face.
I definitely like the head and claws of this figure, but I'm not a fan of the cell shading nor the price. $28 is just too high for basically repaints with some new pieces. I'll wait for them to rerelease that head and claws on a regular version. OH, but can the claws be placed on the other Wolverine hands?
I wish Hasbro would make a riders or deluxe hobgoblin with the huge animated series glider and more accurate headsculpt

Great review. Cell shaded figures present a logistical problem. They incompatible with the mainly. For now on, every x-men reissue will have to decide if it’s going to be cell shaded or not

I actually love this figure but hate the price and it should’ve came with better accessories. That picture and picture frame can kick rocks those gripping hands can kick rocks. We should’ve got an unmasked headsculpt with the cowl down and fists with the little nubins in there so you can have him punching without the claws. All you can do is put him in that stupid little pose or have him using his claws which limits his playability.
I think I like how it look actually, not fan of the shadings overall but in this case it looks fantastic

This is just my opinion, my true but action figures should not needs sell shading. Here's the reason you have a light you have them in front of a background, the shading is already there. You don't need to paint shading, take a photo with look like if you had the figure in different lighting and the shading shadowed, one side that wasn't supposed to be shadowed. It would look so off and weird because we're not all gonna display our figures. The exact same way I just feel personally. The sales shading is just adding paint. That just doesn't need to be there and it does look where weird in certain poses. Because you're not always gonna have the light. Exactly where the cell shading would be the light parts of it. So I disagree sales. Shading should not even be on an action figure. I mean, if you're gonna do that, you might as well. Put the black shadowing lines on action figures and make them look even more cartoon accurate. And yet somehow we still can't get decent headsizes for some of these figures. So no. I disagree, sales shading should have never been added on any action figures. You don't need it. A figure will immediately have shading because of the light, whether it be sunlight. Lamplight. Whatever kind of light you have, you don't need to paint cell shading just saying.
This is an easy win for me! I can def see it not being for EVERYBODY…….but for those who don’t want to spend tons on the classic wolverines that have came out….this was a no brainer. Just missing maskless cartoon head and claw effects!

I just want the claw hands
They got to figure a better way of packing it in the box. When got mine and it was wrapped up in wax paper like was getting trash in a box and in middle of the 70% empty space of box with few accessories but a head sculpt and a reg pair of non gloved yet blue painted hands with finger nails which those 2 pieces of wax paper crumpled up in middle of box which held my figures. Don’t get me wrong. I for one Don’t have a issue with them going with out the plastic shell since 98% my stuff is gotten online we’re i live. But the presentation trying to get to my figure is terrible. Maybe have the box open with a cover and have at least the figure framed in the box either with more cardboard shaped like the figure or foam or something to hold figure up in place. Just to wrap it up in like tissue paper and throw it in the empty slot of a box just wasn’t a good feel for me even though I do like the figure somewhat. But that wrapped up paper around the figure and accessories need to be better. Def when spending the inflated prices for these figures now a days.

good figure, but the yellows they use on some xmen just don't work for me. Even that love triangle pack, the yellow on gene gray didn't match the two figures she was paired with. It boggles my mind. So, right now, I'm just sticking with my retro. I think the last figure I will ever buy for marvel legends is amazing fantasy spidey.

Believe it or not, I don't have a Wolverine in my collection. In fact, I only have four X-Men specific figures. I have Rogue, grey Beast, Sunspot and Apocalypse. I know. I'm a weird guy. I never liked or read the X-Men books when I into comics. I didn't read the Spider-Man titles either. I was an Iron Man and Doctor Strange kind of guy.
I want a Legends figure of this suit design. But, without the the mustard and grape jelly stains.

Cell shading can look really good but not when it’s done like this. There’s no type of shading on his skin and the colors chosen for the yellow shading look pretty bad imo. Like a poop trail. The sculpts look good but that’s about the only good thing it has. I think I’ll just stick to the Bonebreaker wolverine just cause of the paint.
