  • oztooltalk take a look at some new products from Hilti, the 22V reciprocating saw and dispenser / caulking gun.
The SR 6 A22 reciprocating saw is very comfortable and sports a brushless motor with a lovely 32mm stroke length. It's 2,600 SPM (strokes per minute) isn't class leading, so it'll be interesting to see if it matches market leaders.
The CD 4 A22 caulking gun is a powerful, variable speed unit with a lot going for it and one minor issue we picked up.

Cheers guys! Currently a dewalt owner but if I was using my tools in a professional environment I would definitely consider hilti despite the price

I just bought the m12 caulking gun. This is a hit. Love it. For adhesive.😉

Apart from the increased stroke length it is really all about the blades you are using with a recip saw. Are they the OEM units? The Silicone gun sounds ok. The prices seem to have come down 12~18 months ago I was quoted $740 for a Makita 18 volt skin.
    Cheers

All I know is the old Hilti power caulker is gutless and slow for chemset and you've got to buy their glue too.

well now that you've watched our whole video, you also know a bunch of (more optimistic) facts about their newest one :D

How about their jig saw ???

Sounds stupid but if you use a hand saw action with your recipro it will clear the saw dust out faster and cut better

I think a rocking motion is sufficient to clear the chips without decreasing the safety as much as that. But glad it works well for you :D [Dwain]

Why not skip to the chase? It's crap like all this plastic crap, but it works, so whatever. Buy another one when it breaks.

The recip saw, the tool of bodgers the world over. Total shite unless what your cutting is scrap because it soon will be with this out of control Irish jigsaw. Demolition is the only thing that you can use it for.

I'm afraid you have no idea what you're talking about. It is extremely useful to many trades. [Dwain]

@@OZToolTalk its useful in certain ways, but I've always found you can't cut a straight line very well, or the blade is very snatchy in wood as it doesn't really clear the same as the pendulum action on a jigsaw. Waving it up and down loses the point of it being a narrow body getting into a space.

Michael Bamber yea you don’t know how to run a recip saw

@@benjaminromshak9904 probably not but they make out it's the swiss army knife of tools. It's not. If you had a 8x4 sheet of ply would you start out with a recip saw or a circular saw?

Michael Bamber it’s definitely not a replacement or a fix all do all, but I would say it’s one of the more useful tools that have multiple roles. I keep a variety of different size blades and an assortment of blades for different material. Idk it’s hard to explain but I’ll give it to you, when you use it the after math isn’t always pretty but it works perfect. I guess that makes no sense.
