  • How to make your own parabolic reflector for wildlife and birdsong recording! This setup uses everyday materials (a plantpot, some wood, a few screws and washers and a bungee cord) to create a parabolic reflector which can be used with your smart phone and an audio recording app. It's by no means perfect, but I have been really impressed with the results and thought I'd share a rough guide of construction process so others can give it a go too!

Well done, this is helpful. you’re a natural. I’ll be using a Bluetooth Mike with my phone that way it can be separated from the phone. I like your site I’m also a wildlife photographer. I’ll be following you.

You don't have the phone at the focus point of the parabolic dish, I'm surprised this works as well as it does. I wonder how good it would work if you mount the mic at the focus.

Have a AUDIO LIMITER plugin otherwise if suddenly a loud sound comes when you are listening , it can damage one's hearing

Hey Ben. I've made mine, but I think I've messed up. How do you listen to it in the field? There's no way to plug headphones in.?

Hello I am just wondering if you have any links to the litter pick handle. I am still yet to make a plant pot parabolic. I have had a cold. But I am still keen to make one. Any help on what to get would be great. My Dad is probably going to help me to make it. He said that we have plenty of time.
